“but our uninhibited selves aren’t necessarily an accurate representation of who we are.” she stated, shrugging her shoulders as she took a sip from her cup. “and just because drinking brings out the things we kept deep inside, doesn’t mean those things should in any way be a part of our judgement of others. if someone tries to be better, and they don’t want to associate with certain things, which is why they keep them inside, then those things shouldn’t be taken into account.”
Aurelia had certainly done many things with alcohol running through her veins that she regretted the next morning. she had created some of her fondest memories that way too, but while the good memories caused her to chuckle nostalgically for a moment, the bad really weighed down on her, forever it seemed. she certainly didn’t want to be judged on the basis of those actions.
Jacey glanced over at her and wondered if she knew the things that Quentin had gotten up to behind her back, that deep down, she knew about their secret meetings whenever they had the chance. “but what about the bad decisions?” She asked gently. “Aren’t they really the things we want to act on but our conscious tells us otherwise,” she suggested softly, taking a long sip from her cup. “I mean, maybe it’s just our consciousness disappearing and we finally act on those carnal inhibitions we try and bury deep.” At least that was the excuse she gave the first night she had made a move on Quentin.
Clearing her throat awkwardly as she glanced around, she wasn’t too sure if she should continue the conversation or just awkwardly walk away- she had never been too good at social interactions especially with people she didn’t know all that well, always making the wrong decisions, always saying the wrong thing, perhaps that’s why her parents had shoved her away to various countries. “I don’t usually see you at these parties.” She finally added, staring down into her cup as she hopped on her feet slightly.
