My journey to a minimalist wardrobe - episode 2.1 DEFINE
Welcome back to the second part of this episode! I am just picking things up right where I left them, so here we go.
What are my 3 favorite outfits for each of my top 3 activities?
If you are wondering how I decided what my favorite outfits were, I just went to my Instagram page and looked at what I wear most often. So let's start with my first activity:
Friends, family and other loved ones.
When I meet up with friends, my boyfriend or family I prefer to wear skirts or dresses. They automatically look like I'm making an effort without being uncomfortable. I prefer tight skirts because A-line doesn't sooth me well.
Making and writing music.
When I go out to my band members to work on some new material it's always very important for me to look good. I feel like I sing better when I am confident about the way I look. Singing can make me insecure as it is so I definitely need my outfit to give me a confidence boost whenever I look in a mirror. I always feel very pretty in some high waisted jeans (either skinny or mom) and just a cute top. Preferably something that isn't too saggy but not too revealing as well.
Working for and going to school.
For school I really like to keep things simple and comfortable. So my go-to would be a regular skinny jean with either a cool printed baggy shirt or just a knit.
Now that we have that all sorted, let's move on!
Which 5 colors do you want to have in your closet?
At first I was all 'wait what 5??? I have like 20 colors in my closet now and have never given any thought about this at all'. So yeah this was quite a challenge. How did I manage to do it? Pinterest. I made a board with all these color pallets and just picked the ones I liked. The 5 colors should contain 3 neutral colors and 2 accent tones.
Using something like this scheme and combining that with other pallets I've seen really made things a lot easier.
So my neutral colors will be:
And my accent tones will be:
And I know green can contain a wide variety of colors but I like having many colors in my closet and I figured why limit if it's something that brings me joy?
So this wraps up episode two! I am looking forward to seeing you in episode 3 where we will finally be diving in to my closet.
