The earth is a trembling thing. I lay at her feet and kiss her ankle. We are all trembling things.

BWAHAHA! Headcanon where the cat lies there every day because it knows people will run up to it crying âOh nononono! Oh god no- oh. Youâre fine, thank god. Come here and let me pet you!â

Today's hate crime will be forgotten because the victims were the wrong race
Remembering Alison Parker, 24, and Adam Ward, 27, the victims of the WDBJ7 shootingÂ
Parker, a native of Virginia, grew up in the city of Martinsville, about 180 miles southwest of Richmond, WDBJ7 reports. She attended Patrick Henry Community College near Martinsville and graduated from James Madison University, where she worked for the schoolâs newspaper, in 2012. She interned at the station that summer and returned in May 2014 as a morning reporter, New York Daily News reports. Parker had been dating the stationâs evening co-anchor Chris Hurst. Hurst shared his grief on Twitter.
Ward had graduated from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, where he earned a communications and media studies degree, NBC News reports. He had worked for the station since July 2011 and was engaged to the morning producer Melissa Ott. Ott had recently accepted a new job, according to the Star-Exponent. She was in the control room as the live footage of the shooting came rolling in.
This is just so horrific.Â
I am so heartbroken that this happened in my hometown. Prayers for their families.

A poet told me to write about you. Write it out, honey. As if you were a fever or a horse to break. As if you donât already show up, uninvited, unbeckoned, into every poem. Your hand guides my wrist as I write this, even now.

One morning,⨠you woke up missing the person â¨you almost became,â¨but by then it was too late already. There were bigger â¨things to mourn.⨠You didnât have any room left for your own⨠name.
