Jack Turner

Jack Turner is not the boy everyone expected. Everything about Jack Turner is fake, including Jack himself. Born Ethan Croswell, Ethan used to have the ideal family household but that all changed when his mom and dad separated, his mom taking his older sister while he stayed with his dad.

His dad being devastated by the separation, turned to the bottle, drinking every night until he either passed out or was to drunk to remember who Jack even was. Embarrassed by his father’s behavior Ethan began pushing his friends away, not wanting them to see what his father has become. This left Ethan alone with nothing but his computer, which he was on each and every day. What few people knew about Ethan was that he was highly intelligent in computer science and knew all the inter-workings of a computer.

Ethan first learned he could hack when he managed to hack into a video games that he played often by giving himself unlimited access that you usually have to pay for. Impressed with his skills, he decided to see what else he could get into by poking around on the school’s website and changing their mascot and school name. Eventually Ethan got better and better with hacking and built up more confidence and he started to hack into the school system to change grades for those who were willing to pay up. Ethan was kicked out of school a few weeks of changing grades because he got caught. He then worked toward getting his GED while he continued to learn how to hack. Eventually he started to hack into banks and gather banking information from customers and transfer funds from their accounts to his in seconds.

After a couple of months of doing this, Ethan met Tessa. Tessa was going through a shitty situation and Ethan felt bad for her and allowed himself to talk to her. Soon and with a shock to Ethan, he started to realize that he actually liked being around this girl. So when she asked him to hack into a government agencies and fake her birth certificate and created her a new social security card so she could disappear, he said yes without hesitation.

After Tessa left, Ethan found a sort of like in hacking into government agencies and poking around. He also knew that people would pay big to someone who could literally make them disappear. Ethan went onto the deep web and told a couple of people of his skill set and soon there were people asking him to help them disappear as well.

As the money flowed in, Ethan got more and more popular with the wrong people which made him cocky and forgetful. Hacking in one day to grab some social security numbers, Ethan forgot to set up an encryption, deeming him invisible and was instantly flagged and figured out by the FBI. Cursing, Jack immediately started erasing his hard dives and shutting down his computers but not before he emailed himself the Plan B file that contained his new passport, social security number, and birth certificate changing his name to Jackson Turner. He knew he had to leave before the FBI could track him down, so he packed only the bare essentials and ran off to a small town in Silver Lake, Michigan

“I haven’t heard it, thank god.” She laughed as she blocked the fry, flipping him off quickly. “I don’t know if that’s sweet or pathetic, Jack. We’re in the prime time of our lives and we spend our afternoons in a coffee shop eating french fries while you…do whatever it is that’s considered pleasure.”

“Then fine, you’re right let’s go out and be wild and crazy while we still can.” He smiled and downed the last of his coke.

“Pleasure, huh? So it is porn! And you don’t even use headphones. That’s bold, Jack.” Her tone was teasing. “But seriously, when was the last time you went out and did something fun?” Of course, Carsyn wasn’t one to talk too much about fun. Most of her life revolved around taking care of someone else’s children. “Also, fries taste so much fucking better when you don’t have to pay for them.”

“It’s not porn. When have you ever heard me watching porn.” He laughed as he tossed a french fry at her. “Whenever we hang out.” Jack nodded in agreement to her as he ate another fry dipped in ranch. Those fries were really good more so because he was using someone else’s funds to buy them.

“Nothing all that interesting,” she repeated. “You’re on that thing every time I see you, Jack. It’s gotta be something interesting. Or, well I guess it could be work but if it is work you should tell me to fuck off and let you work instead of letting me steal your fries.”

“It’s not work. It’s more pleasure.” He said as he closed his laptop. “And I’m used to you stealing my fries at this point.” Jack chuckled.

She picked at the plate of fries on the table in between them. “What are you always doing on that laptop anyway?” Her voice was laced with curiosity as she dipped a french fry in ranch before popping it into her mouth. The brunette was grateful for the afternoons she got to spend with Jack while the kids were in school. She loved her job; she really did but having a moment of peace with the mysterious boy reminded her that it was okay to take time for herself.

“Nothing all that interesting.” He replied as he grabbed a fry dipped into the ranch. He was currently hacking into the bank down the street taking some money from high bank accounts.
