The Block-headed Jack

Confusion was obvious on the Snow King’s face, and he tilted his head, slightly, glancing from his block-headed double to the glass of punch, to the empty space where a mouth should have been, and back again.

“I could’ve sworn…but…but then…just…how do you eat?” he asked, finally, after a few minutes spent struggling for words.

"I... I just don't? I've never really need to, so I don't mind too much." The blockhead shrugged. He almost felt bad for those who did need to, to have to depend on it so much. "I don't really need to worry much about food or anything like that, I just need to worry about melting. Or– or, uh, yeah."

Looking down at the drink and back at the Snow King he lifted the glass up towards him, a bit flustered. "You can have it though, if you want! I mean, since it's wasted on me and all, it'd be a shame to put it to waste, especially at a time like this, since these events don't happen very often, right?"

“You should try it,” Jack suggested, “Or, what? Can you not eat and drink without a mouth?”

His questions might have been blunt and even a little carelessly rude, but Jack didn’t exactly care. He was trying to offer up a challenge to his double, trying to goad him into drinking the punch, and—hopefully—getting absolutely wasted, just as he planned on having happen with all of the other people he offered punch to.

After all, considering what his other twins held as their “center,” Jack was convinced that it was only his job to make the Ball more fun.

"Well, of course not. Were you expecting otherwise?" He asked, looking down at the drink in hand. He wasn't sure about what was in the drink– though he didn't have much to compare it to– and it seemed kind of odd that the Jack in front of him was so insistant on the drink.

Well, whatever, Jack Block shrugged. He wasn't about to reject kindness, since it all seemed harmless enough. "Believe me, I'd like to drink it! But, uh, well– the most I think I could do is freeze it to myself, and that seems kind of sticky and messy and gross and–"

Jack shrugged, moving to get his block-headed double some of the punch—which had been, not long before, spiked by the Snow King himself—as he spoke.

“Never know until you try. But hey, we’re dwelling now. Want some punch? It’s good,” Jack offered, scooping some of the deceivingly benign-looking pinkish-red liquid into a crystalline cup, before holding it out to the other Jack.

"Punch? Ah... sure, I guess. Thanks." The blockhead took it, not quite sure what to do with it but appreciating the gesture nonetheless. He couldn't exactly drink it with the lack of a mouth... "Is it good? I've never had it before, you know, so–"

“Like I said before, you could always carve yourself a face. Plus, I offered to get you a face, but you said no!” Jack argued, “But, you look presentable. Good job.”

"Yeah, well– well, I uh, I have standards, maybe?" Jack Block defended. "Robbing a morgue doesn't seem like the nicest idea and carving into my face would probably feel worse than denting my head already is, so..."
