"Looking fab, darling!"
Merry Christmas from the dame herself.
I was taking screenshots last night for art reference, and I realized that these Vykkers arenât just wearing copious amounts of makeup â they look like theyâve had skin grafts for what could be purely aesthetic reasons
I know theyâre way into body modifications, especially when it comes to prolonging their own lifespans, but this is really intriguing to me
((Yeah I remember reading somewhere that they're into plastic surgery and like to show off that they got work done lol. Might be in the art book
(found this old sketch while rummaging through old files. Not the most accurate now considering not all of her arms are the same length now, but it gives you an idea of how her clothing looks.)
[Zach] *looks up at the new Mud in out of curiosity, only being 4 1/2]
"Oh, Odd... No, no! Shoo! Go on! Back to your... bottles or whatever!"
You look familiar...
"You look VERY familiar... Boy, you're lucky I don't have my scalpels."

Cecil found a corner cafe to fill some time. All these strangers around him made him well beyond nervous. Every time someone passed him, his heart jumped slightly. This was the first time Cecil was in an industrial city by himself, and being a mudokon here was suspicious enough, being a very pale one made him feel like he stood out even more, despite that he was mostly ignored by other patrons. At least the drink here is good. When it was time to leave, he chucks over a half glass of bourbon before leaving some bills on the table that covered what he had drunk and left.
Feeling a bit more confident this time around, he makes sure his clothes still look good and walked into the office to wait for Jackie to come out.
After a few moments the tall door in the back of the room opened. A vykker giggled his way out, his face covered in incision marks, followed by the surgeon herself. âAlright, honey. Now use that oil on the incisions before you go to sleep. Come back and see me in two weeks, sweetie.â The vykker waved at her as he left, his speech slurred as half his face was still numb, âThanks, Jackie!â
Jacqueline waved back, wiggling her fingers. He gaze turned to the new client she had met earlier, âWell, look whoâs here! Zult, right?â
Seeing that vykker didnât really put him much at ease at all. He was there to get rid of scars, not add more after all. So he immediately made a mental note to not let her anywhere near his arm. When his fake name was called, he didnât react right away, as he was mesmerized by what he was seeing. âHmm? Ah, yes. You told me to get here at seven sharp, so here I am.â He said, trying not to break character. âIâve never been to a plastic surgeon before, so whatâs the process? I suppose youâd like to get a scope of the damage first?â
She noticed his face when he saw the vykker post-op. "Don't worry, darling. That hack job was at his request. A lot of vykkers like to show off their touch ups." She motioned him to follow her to the back room, "This way, hun."
The room was large, yet there was a single operating chair. Several cabinets and tools surrounded it. Shiny, silver, sharp knives of all kinds displayed like trophies. The three arms in her right side gestured toward the chair, "Take a seat, sweet. Let's see what we're working with."
Alf saw the strange looking Mudokon and was sure he never met her before, so he walked over, smiling. âHi there!â
"Ewch... It's you."

"Just out of curiosity... How much would it cost to get rid of... All of this?"
âYeesh! âŚA lot.â
Cecil didnât come all this way, putting himself in danger in this uncomfortable kanzumer disguise just to be told off. He reaches into his pouch and takes out a wad of moolah and tosses it nonchalantly on the table. âThereâs more where that came fromâŚâ
Jackie watched the moolah slide across the table. She snorted, then went into a full cackle. âHA! You looking for a quick lip injection? That wonât cover shit.â
Crossing his arms, he leans against the wall while wearing a smirk on his face. âYou know just as well as me that itâs not smart to carry all your moolah on your person. People have been put down for less around here. I donât need to tell you the story about how I even got this way.â He bluffs; hoping that she wouldnât see through his lies. âBut as you might know, looks are big in business, and Iâm in need of a fresh start.. So, I ask again. How. Much. Is. It?â Very clearly he enunciates every word.
Not taking to his tone too well, her face becomes serious. She slammed her hands on the table and began to quickly âcrawlâ across towards him with all six of her arms moving like that of a bolamite. She stopped when her face was mere inches away from his. âListen, punk. Iâve got clients filling up my books for months. You think you can walk up to me with this chump change, give me attitude, and get special treatment for that fucked up face of yours? What makes you so special, huh?â
This definitely was becoming scary, but he tried to stay cool. He couldnât break character now. After all, he still had an ace up his sleeve. âIâm not asking for any special treatment at all. Those ugly shmucks need it sooner than I do, and Iâm a patient man. But before you try to threaten me, you might want to look at this⌠Keeping his smug persona he reaches into his suitâs inner pocket and pulls out a pretty convincing looking personnel card made from a thin, clean piece of aluminum. Very carefully the card said âSecretary of production T. Zultâ in finely engraved letters along with a relief picture of himself without the scars. On the back, it showed the logo of the Lights-out powerplant. âAs you can see, Iâm not like those savages in loincloths that make up most of what I dread to call my kind. In fact, Iâm the secretary of the largest power plant on Oddworld, Not the highest function, but itâs more than what most can even dream of. Long story short; it would only take me three minutes, at most, to cut your power. But I didnât come to make threats. You know fixing this would fill up your coffers nicely. So Iâm sure we can come to a civilized understanding.â Behaving like this really left a bad taste in his mouth, but he had to keep up the act and pray she would see through his lies.
Jackie eyed the card and smiled. "Ah, now, that's what I like to see. Status." Her tone became much more friendlier after this new discovery. "You'll have to excuse me, darling. You have no idea how many of you muds come to me begging for special favors... But now I see you're different than those foul gambling addicts."
One of her hands picked up the cash still on the table and thumbed through it with another. "Tell you what. I'll take this as your consultation fee. Come back at 7 o'clock sharp. I'll be finished with my last client by then. I'll take a closer look at that mug of yours and see what we can do."
At one of Jackieâs weddings, her gluk-to-be got cold feet. She was so devastated by the enormous fortune she wasnât inheriting, that she had her interns track him down and take him out. If she couldnât have all that moolah, neither could he. She drank all the reception wine by herself that night. [⏠]

I do believe the little high-ranked mercenary junkie we're referring to quit being a mercenary junkie a little while ago ;) I believe her name is Ahlu or somethin, you may have run into her. Who knows! You ran in the same circles. Point is, she was likely the one snuggling those pills. Toodles!~
"Mercen...--Oh. OH! I know who you're talking about! She has the long hair that looks like an overgrown mop?" Jackie paused to laugh at her own insult. "Thanks for the info, sweet. I'll have to get in touch with Miss. Ahlu..."
Maruta: Pardon me, Ma'am. But how much would it be ta git ridda ma scars?
"Too much for you to afford, hon. Now, shoo. You smell like... poverty and bad taste."
