------------
you were at home one afternoon, finishing some work around the house, when your phone started ringing. you pulled your phone from your pocket, you sister’s name flashing across the screen.
“hey girl!” you said excitedly when you answered.
“hey, y/n. i have a huge favor to ask.” she said, and you could tell she was out of breath.
“what’s up?” you asked her.
“i know it’s last minute, so if you say no, i wont be upset. but can you watch n/n this afternoon? something came up at work and i need to go into the office.” she said to you.
“of course! bring her over. i’m here alone, and would love to take a break from doing things around the house.” you laughed into your phone speaker.
“oh, y/n, i owe you big time. thank you.” your sister said to you. she let you know that she would be over shortly, and you met her on your front porch when she arrived. your sister brought your niece inside, her excited to be at her tía’s house.
“okay, baby, mommy will come get you later.” your sister said to her, pressing a kiss to her cheek. she thanked you once more for watching her, quickly leaving to get to work.
“alright mama, are you hungry?” you asked, and she nodded. the two of you rummaged the kitchen and found some frozen chicken nuggets and fries. you warmed them up for your lunch, you and your niece climbing on the couch and you turned on some cartoons for her while you ate.
after she finished eating, your niece was beginning to get a little restless. you took her into your guest room, looking through the toy bin you had at your place full of toys you’d bought for her and toys that had been left at your house other times she’d come over. she gathered most of the toys and lugged them back to the living room, where the two of you sat and played for most of the time she was there.
between playing with toys, coloring, and watching cartoons, a few hours had passed and you heard keys jingling outside the front door. you watched as marcello walked through the door, smiling when he saw you sitting on the floor with your niece.
“hey baby!” you said with a smile.
“tío cello!” your niece cheered as she ran up to him at the door. marcello scooped her up in his arms and hugged her tight.
“n/n! what a surprise! what are you doing here?” he asked, pressing a kiss to her cheek as he carried her back into the living room. he set her back on the floor and sat on the couch behind you.
“s/n had to go into work today, and needed someone to watch her. and since she’s my favorite niece,” you said with a smile, squeezing her cheeks as she giggled, “i said i’d watch her.”
“i think you just wanted an excuse to watch cartoons all day.” marcello teased, pressing a kiss to the top of your head as he got up from the couch.
“maybe, but that’s besides the point.” you laughed. marcello disappeared into the kitchen, bringing snacks back for the three of you in the living room as he sat on the floor next to you.
the rest of the afternoon, and into the evening, you enjoyed getting to hang out with your niece and marcello. and you could tell that she was having a good time too. it wasn’t often that you had kids at your house, but when you did, there was a completely different side of you that marcello got to see.
he loved seeing your maternal instincts come out, and loved it when pictures flashed in his mind of you with your own kid. he knew you would be a great mother, and raising a child with you was something that he wanted more than anything. you’d talked about having kids before, but no matter how loose you were about birth control, the universe just didn’t think you were quite ready.
as it was getting later, and your niece was getting hungry again, you settled on ordering pizza for dinner. once the pizza was delivered, you let your niece pick a movie to watch while you ate. after she finished eating, your niece climbed into your lap, playing with one of her dolls while the movie played in front of her.
“tía, can i spend the night with you?” she asked.
“of course, baby. as long as mommy says yes.” you said, grabbing your phone from the couch next to you. you tapped on your sister’s contact to facetime her.
“y/n, hey! i was just about to call you. how’s everything?” she asked once she answered.
“we’re all good over here. we just ate some pizza for dinner and are watching lilo and stitch.” you said, flipping the camera to show your set up before refocusing it on you and your niece.
“mommy, can i spend the night? tía already said it was okay.” your niece said abruptly.
“y/n, are you sure you and marcello don’t mind?” your sister asked you.
“of course we don’t mind. and since i can see you’re still at work, it’s gonna be late before you’re even able to come pick her up anyway. take the night off, and come get her in the morning.”
“thank you so much y/n, and tell marcello thank you too.” she said, and you nodded. you let your sister wish her daughter good night before she hung up, and you turned your attention back to the movie. once it was over, n/n was starting to get tired, so you started getting her ready for bed. you gave her a bath, and put her in her pajamas before letting her get comfortable in the guest bed. you plugged in one of the nightlights, before kneeling down at the side of the bed.
“alright, mija, you got your teddy. anything else?” you asked, and she shook her head. “tía and cello are right down the hall if you need anything, okay?”
“okay.” she said softly, as she was already starting to fall asleep.
“good night, baby.” you said, pressing a kiss to her forehead. you walked out of the room, leaving the door cracked just a bit. you moved back to the living room, cleaning up the paper plates and now empty pizza boxes that littered the coffee table. you began picking up n/n’s toys, throwing them back into the box you kept them in, before you were interrupted by a pair of hands on your hips that spun you around.
“oh, hello there, handsy.” you laughed, marcello pulling you into his chest. he pressed a deep kiss to your lips, his arms wrapping tighter around your waist. “mmm, what’s gotten into you?” you laughed, pulling away to catch your breath.
“i just love watching you take care of kids. something about you being maternal that really gets me going.” he admitted to you, kissing you again. his lips pressed hard against yours as his hands trailed down you back, stopping on your ass and giving you a gentle squeeze. his lips slowly left yours as they began to trail down your neck, sucking gently as he reached your sweet spot.
“marcello,” you said in between breathy moans.
“let’s make a baby.” he said softly, lips barely leaving your neck. with that, the two of you ran off to your bedroom, making sure to lock the door behind you. you quickly undressed each other, making sure to keep quiet as to not wake your niece down the hall.
marcello treated you better than ever, his lips meeting every inch of your body with the softness that they always did. the intimacy you shared was heavier than ever, the added desire for creating life making it all the more special. with each thrust and pump into you, the familiar pit in your stomach grew deeper and deeper. marcello’s hips began stuttering against you as he cursed through his teeth, telling you he was close. with one final thrust, you felt your orgasm rush through your entire body like a shockwave. marcello followed only seconds behind, warmth filling you as he released. you felt dizzy, marcello’s lips pressing sloppy kisses to your chest and abdomen, before he pulled out and laid down next to you. you shared a few more lazy kisses before you wrapped yourselves in each other, eventually falling asleep.
the next morning, you woke to an empty bed. as you wiped the sleep from your eyes, you heard noise trailing down the hallway and the smell of breakfast floating into your bedroom. you smiled to yourself as you got out of bed and walked down the hallway, seeing your niece and marcello standing at the stove and making breakfast.
“good morning tía.” your niece said as you pressed a kiss to the top of her head.
“good morning, hon.” you said with a smile.
“you’re just in time. we’re almost done.” marcello said as he poured the last of the pancake batter into his pan. “n/n, why don’t you help tía set the table.” he added, and your niece climbed down from the stool. the two of you set the table, pouring glasses of juice for everyone. marcello finished cooking and the three of you moved to the table to start breakfast.
as you sat around the table eating, you felt your heart swell at the idea that eventually, you and marcello would someday be joined by your own kid. you smiled as you watched marcello interact with your niece, knowing that he would be the perfect dad to your child, as he hung on every word she said to him. your daydreams were briefly interrupted when your niece turned her attention back to you.
“tía, when are you gonna get a baby?” she asked you.
“why? do you want a baby cousin?” you asked, and she smiled, nodding excitedly. “hopefully soon.” you said, marcello shooting a wink your direction across the table.
the three of you finished breakfast and lounged on the couch while you waited for your sister to come pick up your niece. after they left, you and marcello snuggled up on the couch, spending the rest of your day watching movies and daydreaming about your potential future family.
summary: when you and marcello go out on a double date, you are met with someone who you never thought you'd see again.

------
“do we have any plans this weekend?” marcello asked you one evening as the two of you were lounging on the couch.
“i don’t think so. why do you ask?” you asked him.
“an old friend of mine invited me out for dinner, and suggested we double date.” he said to you.
“oh, that sounds fun. let’s do it.” you said, agreeing to plans for the weekend.
it was finally saturday night, and you and marcello were getting ready for the evening. once you were both dressed and ready, you made your way to the restaurant you were meeting marcello’s friend at. once you arrived, marcello gave the host his friends name, and they immediately took you to their table. as you walked up to the table, you stopped in your tracks when you noticed who was sitting there.
“you okay?” marcello asked, feeling your grip tightening on his hand.
“i need some air.” you said, out of breath. you dropped his hand from your grip, moving towards the front of the restaurant. you stood outside, taking deep breaths to calm your nerves. just as you opened your eyes, your vision focused on marcello beside you, a genuine look of concern on his face.
“baby, are you okay?” he asked, placing his palm against your back.
“do you remember that girl from college i used to always tell you about? the one that made my life a living hell no matter how hard i tried to avoid her?” you asked him, and he nodded. “that was her at the table with your friend.”
“oh my god. are you serious?” he asked, and you nodded.
“i’m pretty sure.”
“fuck, i’m so sorry. i didn’t even know who his girlfriend was, but i never would’ve accepted his invitation if i had.” marcello said, pulling you into a tight hug. “do you wanna leave?” he asked, and you took a deep breathe before you spoke again.
“no, let’s stay. i don’t want to put a damper on your night. i know you wanna see your friend.”
“you don’t have to worry about me, i can see him anytime. i only care about you and how you’re feeling. we don’t have to stay just because you think we have to.”
“no, it’s okay. i can’t let this girl continue to control my feelings. let’s go back inside.”
“okay. but if, at any point you feel like you wanna leave, don’t hesitate to say so.” marcello said, and you nodded. he pressed a quick kiss to your lips before the two of you walked back inside. you made your way back to the table where marcello’s friend and his girlfriend sat, wide smiles adorning their faces.
“marcello, it’s so good to see you!” his friend said, standing from the table and embracing marcello in a tight hug.
“it’s good to see you too!” marcello said with a smile. “bf/n, this is my girlfriend, y/n. y/n, this is one of my best friends from college, bf/n.”
“it’s nice to meet you,” you began, extending your hand to shake. “marcello’s told me so much about you.”
“and he’s told me so much about you. it’s nice to finally put a face to a name.” he said, and you nodded in agreement. “marcello, y/n, this is my girlfriend, g/n.” he said as she stood from the table. the sound of her name ringing in your ears sent a shiver down your spine.
“it’s nice to meet you both.” she said shyly as she shook yours and marcello’s hand. as your hands touched, all of the memories of the things you had to endure from her came flooding back to your memory. you pulled your hand back quicker than you anticipated, feeling like you’d just been shocked throughout your entire system. based on the way she looked at you, you knew she remembered you too.
the four of you finally took your seats, your waiter coming by and taking your drink orders. you then began perusing the menu as light chatter flowed between everyone. you felt marcello lean into your side, pressing a kiss to your temple.
“you okay?” he whispered, and you nodded. “good.” he said, squeezing your thigh where his hand had been the whole night.
over your meal, marcello and his friend did most of the talking, with you and g/n chiming in every once in a while. you didn’t mind though, you loved getting to see marcello catch up with his friend. and, for what it was worth, you knew that if you spoke too much, the lump in your throat would give away how you were truly feeling about the night you were having.
the four of you ended up staying out for quite a while. after your dinner, the four of you ended up at a nearby bar, drinking more, and enjoying your night out. you and g/n sat in the stools at the bar while marcello and bf/n stood next to you. you finished your current drink, before sliding out of your seat to stand up.
“i’ll be right back.” you said, pressing a kiss to marcello’s cheek before walking towards the bathroom. you stood at the sink, fixing your makeup in the mirror, taking a deep breath to try and calm your still shaken nerves. you watched in the mirror as the door opened behind you, gf/n appearing through it.
“y/n, can we talk?” she asked, and you nodded hesitantly. “based on how you reacted to seeing me at dinner earlier, i know you remember me from school.”
“and i’m sure you remember me.” you said, turning around to face her. you crossed your arms across your chest, leaning against the counter.
“i do. and i just want to apologize for everything. i was terrible to you while we were in school, and, even after all these years, i still regret it all. i know an apology wont ever take back how poorly i treated you, but i genuinely am so sorry.” she said to you. you stared quietly, letting her words marinate in your head.
“i accept your apology. like you said, it’s been years, and i don’t want to continue to let those memories bring back all of those negative feelings.”
“i agree.” she said with a nod.
“and i know we are far from being friends, but if marcello and bf/n are gonna continue to see each other and hang out, the least we can do is be cordial towards each other.” you said.
“that sound good.” she said, extending her hand to shake. you took her hand, shaking it softly, the feeling of her hand in hers no longer sending shockwaves through your body. “thank you for hearing me out.” she added, and you nodded.
“c’mon, i don’t want to guys to think we killed each other in here.” you teased. the two of you walked back out to the bar, soft smiles on both of your faces, and you joined the guys back at the bar. you slid next to marcello, who was now occupying the seat you were previously in. his arm wrapped around your shoulders as he slid you a fresh drink.
“everything okay? the two of you were in the bathroom for a while.” marcello said to you.
“we’re good.” you said, raising your glass towards gf/n. she held hers towards you and gave you a nod before turning her attention back towards her boyfriend. you filled marcello in on what you talked about in the bathroom, and he was happy to know that your negative feelings about the night had subsided. he would never admit it to you, but he was still feeling guilty about staying out for dinner.
“well, i’m glad to hear that.” he said pressing a kiss to your temple. the four of you stayed out for just a bit longer before calling it a night. your ubers met you outside the bar, the four of you exchanging good nights before going your separate ways home.
once you arrived back home, you and marcello got ready for bed. you fell into your pillows, feeling as ease as you wrapped yourself in the blankets. marcello climbed into bed next to you, pulling you into his arms, the two of you slowly drifting off to sleep.
summary: spoiling marcello for his birthday.
a/n: small amount of smut towards the end, proceed as you like.
you woke up to your alarm sounding softly in your ear. you set a quiet tone and kept the volume to where only you could hear, as to not wake marcello. you silenced it, and looked over at him. a wide smile spread across your face as you watched him sleep soundly.
you slowly and quietly got out of bed and made your way down to the kitchen. you gathered your ingredients and got started on making breakfast. making each other breakfast in bed had become a tradition for yours and marcello's birthdays, and it was something that you always enjoyed taking part in.
you made enough for the two of you, fixing your plates and pouring glasses of juice.
you slowly made your way back upstairs, and into your bedroom. you pushed the door open with your hip, and found marcello awake in bed.
"good morning." he said softly, smiling as his eyes landed on you and he sat up in bed.
"good morning, birthday boy!" you cheered softly, sitting in the bed next to him. you leaned over and pressed a quick kiss to his lips before setting the tray in his lap.
"my favorite tradition." he said, smiling down at the breakfast spread in front of him. you sat with him, eating your breakfast and talking about your plans for the day.
"i don't want to give too much away, but i have some pretty big plans for the day." you said to him.
"i'm sure whatever you have planned is gonna be amazing." he said, finishing his food. he moved the tray to his nightstand, and pulled you into his arms. "we could spend all day in bed, and i wouldn't mind." he said with a smirk, peppering kisses to your cheeks.
"mmm, save that energy for later, my sweet boy." you said, holding his face in your hands. you pressed a soft kiss to his lips, him smiling down at you once he pulled away.
after breakfast, you and marcello both got ready for the day. you'd taken him out, spending most of the day shopping. you took him to some of his favorite stores, and treated him to some new clothes and jewelry. it ended up being a great day, marcello especially enjoying being spoiled.
"have you worked up an appetite for lunch? we've been shopping for a while." you asked marcello as you walked out of another store.
"yeah, i could definitely eat." he said.
you led him out to the car, loading your bags in the trunk before taking off your your next destination.
"y/n, baby, where are you taking me? we're not driving in the direction of any restaurants." marcello asked after you'd been driving for a while.
"trust me, i know where we're going." you said with a smile. once you got to your destination, you parked and took his hand in yours, leading him to his surprise.
"you set up lunch in the park? i love this!" he said as you walked up on your picnic set up.
"happy birthday!" you said as you sat down with him. you took some pictures and enjoyed your lunch. while you ate, you checked your phone and saw that you had a text from your friend.
“alright, everything is on track for 8pm tonight! we got the rest of the decorations and have some people coming over to help finish setting up."
"perfect! thank you so much for all your help. i'll keep marcello out for a few more hours and be there around 8:15.”
"alright, cool. he's gonna love this when he gets here."
once you and marcello finished your lunch, you sat at the park for a while, enjoying the sounds of nature and taking in the sun. it was a perfect summer day, and you couldn't have asked for a better day to be celebrating marcello.
"you having a good day?" you asked as you nuzzled into marcello's side.
"the best day." he said, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. "thank you for everything. i don't know what i did to deserve this."
"you've done so many amazing things in your 28 years, and you deserve this and so much more. i am so grateful for your existence in this world, and i will do everything i can to make sure that you know that." you said, leaning up and kissing him.
"i love you so much." he smiled.
after your lunch, you spent the rest of the day doing whatever other activities you could think of, treating marcello to whatever else he wanted. you kept him out long enough, and once you got the text saying everything was ready, you could finally make your way back home.
"anything else before we head home?" you asked marcello as you climbed back into the car after stopping for ice cream.
"not that i can think of. you've already done so much for me, i don't think that there's anything else i even need." he laughed.
once you turned into your neighborhood, your cover was almost blown when marcello pointed out the unusual amount of cars once you turned onto your street. luckily, he didn't think too much about it. you finally pulled into your driveway, walked into your house, and everything fell into place.
"SURPRISE!" everyone cheered as you walked into the foyer.
marcello was completely beside himself, not knowing what to say or do. everyone was coming up to him, hugging him and wishing him a happy birthday. you took the chance to sneak away and let him enjoy his moment for a bit. you made your way into the kitchen, mixing cocktails for the both of you.
"i cannot believe you." you heard a voice say behind you. you felt a pair of arms snake around your waist and a pair of lips press to your cheek.
"what can't you believe?" you asked, turning you face marcello. a small smirk pulled on the corners of your lips and marcello held you tight.
"you have gone above and beyond for me today. i really have no idea how i can ever repay you for today. but, i hope you know how incredibly thankful i am for all of this." he said as you handed him his drink.
"that's all i needed to hear. like i told you earlier, you've done so many incredible things in your life, and you deserve to be celebrated.
"i definitely don't deserve you." he said, pulling you into his chest and kissing you hard. "i love you."
"i love you more." you said, kissing him again.
as you spent the rest of the night celebrating marcello, you couldn't help but smile as you watched him enjoying himself, surrounded by all his closest friends who were all there to celebrate him. you were proud of the party you threw together and you were so glad that marcello was enjoying himself as much as he was.
later on, as the party was winding down, and your guests were leaving, or making themselves comfortable in the guest rooms and on the various couches around the house, you and marcello were making your way up to your room.
"i know i've said it a bunch today, but thank you so so much for everything." marcello said as he sat down on the edge of the bed.
"i still have one more surprise for you." you said, kissing him softly as you walked off to the bathroom.
"i don't know how you're gonna top everything you've already done." he called out to you. you smiled to yourself as you moved to the closet, pulling out a brand new lingerie set, that was marcello's favorite color. the set accentuated your curves, complimented your skin tone, and made every inch of your body look perfect. you put the robe on that came with is, loosely tying it around your waist, slightly draping it off your shoulders.
"happy birthday." you said softly, leaning against the door frame of the bathroom.
"oh my god." marcello said with a moan, staring at you, dumbfounded. you walked over to him, standing between his legs as he pulled you close. "this has definitely topped everything you've done so far today. you are perfect." he said, reaching up to kiss you. his hands trailed down your back, stopping on your ass and squeezing you softly.
"i'm glad you think so." you said, laying down on the bed and straddling his waist. "now, why don't you unwrap your gift."
the rest of the night was unlike any other that you and marcello spent together. the intimacy you shared was immeasurable, the both of you reach a new high that you never knew was possible.
"oh, baby. i'm so close!" you said, grinding against him.
"so am i." he said through gritted teeth. marcello flipped you over, spreading your legs further apart as he picked up the pace. a haze filled your head as you began to reach your climax, trying not to scream. your breath hitched as marcello's hips began to stutter against you.
"c'mon baby." you said, holding him close. with one final thrust, your names escaped each other's mouths in perfect sync as you came together.
"oh, fuck." marcello said loudly, the tension releasing from his shoulders under your touch. he rested on your chest as you both laid there catching your breath.
marcello slowly lifted his head, smiling down at you as you brushed his hair back from his forehead. his lips gently brushed yours as he rolled off of you, a small whimper escaping your lips as he pulled out of you.
you laid there quietly as you both returned to reality. you turned to face each other simultaneously, marcello scooting closer to you and wrapping an arm around your waist. he began peppering kisses to your cheeks, trailing down your neck, shoulders, across your chest, eventually making his way back to meet your lips again.
"i love you so much." he said softly, resting his head on your chest. “thank you for the best birthday.”
"of course." you said, gently scratching his back. you felt his arms wrap tighter around your waist before you heard him starting to snore. you smiled to yourself, slowly reaching up to turn the light out. you laid there quietly, continuing to rub marcello's back as slept soundly on your chest.

“what time does your flight get in tomorrow?” you asked marcello. he had been in miami all summer filming a movie, and you spent it alone in new york.
“should be around noon.” he said to you.
“perfect, i’ll see you then.” you said. you and him stayed on the phone for a little bit longer before he had to get some sleep before his early morning flight.
the next day, you were up and getting ready to pick marcello up from the airport. you arrived in the passenger pick up area, having to drive around a few times before you finally saw him walk out of the doors. you parked your car, stepping out of it and waving to him. a wide smile spread across his face when he say you, picking up his pace while walking over to you.
“mi amor!” he cheered as he pulled you into his arms, hugging you tight.
“i missed you so much.” you sighed as he swayed you back and forth.
“i missed you more.” he said softly, pressing a kiss to your temple. you smiled at him, lips meeting his, before helping him get loaded into the car.
once you finally got home, marcello unpacked and hopped into the shower while you ordered food for dinner. your meals arrived just as marcello was getting out of the shower, and the two of you sat in the living room while you ate. over dinner, you and marcello spent most of the night catching up. marcello was telling you more about the movie he’d just been filming, and you told him about things that had been going on at your job. sure, you talked every night while marcello had been gone, but nothing felt better than finally getting to talk and laugh with him in person.
after dinner, you and marcello decided to catch up on some of your shows that had been on hold since he’d been gone. the two of you snuggled up on the couch, marcello resting his head on your shoulder, your legs tangled within each other’s under the blanket you shared. you finally felt at home again, having this closeness with marcello.
you made it through the a couple episodes of one of your shows before you felt marcello’s breathing slow next to you. you looked over and saw his eyes closed as he’d fallen asleep.
“marcello, baby.” you said softly, gently shaking him awake.
“hmm? i’m up, i’m up.” he said, shaking his head, barely holding his eyes open.
“baby, you’re already falling back asleep.” you laughed as his head fell onto your shoulder again.
“ugh, i’m sorry. i wanted to stay up to spend the night with you like i promised.” he sighed as he sat up, rubbing his eyes.
“you don’t have to be sorry,” you began, rubbing his back. “you’ve been working hard all summer, you deserve the rest.” you said to him. “come on, let’s go to bed.” you said, pulling him up from the couch.
“it’s barely 8 pm, you don’t have to go to bed so early.” he laughed as you followed him to your bedroom. you both climbed into bed, marcello making himself comfortable wrapping around you and resting his head on your chest.
“it’s fine, i you know i don’t mind being your pillow.” you laughed, running your fingers through his hair. you turned on the tv, putting on a movie, keeping the volume down to let marcello sleep. it wasn’t much longer until he finally fell into a deep sleep. he would stir every so often, but ended up sleeping for most of the night and into the late morning. he may have fallen asleep on your lazy date night, but you didn’t, as much as you loved spending time with him, you loved watching him sleep just as much.
summary: marcello convinces you to make a big decision

you trudged back to your desk after your lunch break, nervously anticipating the amount of work that you were sure piled up while you were gone. you’d been working a dead end job that you hated, but tolerated because it paid better than you could’ve asked for, and kept the bills paid.
as the day went on, and the clock finally struck 4PM on a friday afternoon, you shut your work computer off faster than you though possible, practically running out to your car and making your way home. you felt the stress finally melt off your shoulders as you shoved your house key into the front door, throwing your bags down in the entryway and slipping out of your shoes.
“cellito, are you home?” you called out.
“in here!” you heard his voice from the kitchen. you followed the sound, finding marcello standing at the counter, making plates of food. he looked up at you with a smile, which quickly faded once he took in your look; your hair was a mess, your once put together outfit full of wrinkles. your shoulders were drooping, and you had the worst eye bags he’d ever seen. “c’mere, mi amor.” he said, holding his arms out to you.
you stepped closer to him, falling into his arms. he held you tight as you melted under his touch. no matter how stressed you were, marcello’s embrace immediately made you feel better.
“i’m so fuckin tired.” you sighed into his chest as he squeezed you tighter. “tired of all of it.” marcello just held you close, a comfortable silence falling over you as you stood in the kitchen with each other.
“come on, let’s eat.” he said, leading you over to your dining room table before bringing the food he was getting ready in the kitchen back over to you.
while you ate, you vented to marcello about your work week, him listening intently as you spoke.
“the week was just so insanely busy, i feel like i’m drowning in paperwork and i’m never gonna catch up.” you sighed, stuffing another bit of food in your mouth.
“i don’t know why you even stay there. they don’t appreciate you enough and i don’t like seeing you so down every night when you come home from work.”
“the pay makes it worth it.”
“but you know i-“ marcello began, but you quickly cut him off.
“yeah, i know you make enough money to support the both of us and i wouldn’t have to work. but i don’t want to become dependent on you. i like being able to have my own money.” you explained.
“with your experience and work ethic, i know for a fact that you can find a job that you like better than where you’re at now that pays you just as good, if not better.” marcello said to you. he was your biggest hype man, and always knew you could do better for yourself, but you were admittedly too scared to change from your routine.
a few weeks passed since that night, and marcello’s words kept ringing in your head. you sat your desk, barely paying attention to the work you had in front of you. you sighed as you put together one spreadsheet after another, sent meaningless emails, and monotonously went about your day.
the morning slowly passed by, and before you knew it, it was already your lunch time. you sat at your desk, slowly spinning in your chair as you took in the state of your cubicle. all of a sudden, you found yourself packing your things up in a box. once all of your belongings were packed, you walked down to your boss’ office, stepping through the door.
“y/n, hey, i need you to-“ you held up your hand and cut them off.
“i quit.” you said simply, unclasping your ID badge and placing it on their desk. you took your things, made your way downstairs, out of the office, and to your car. your drive home felt better than it had in a long time. suddenly, the traffic didn’t upset you. the school zone you had to drive through wasn’t as backed up as it normally was. you didn’t mind sitting at the light that always seemed to be out at entrance to your neighborhood.
you felt better than you had in a long time, and you couldn’t wait to finally get home.
once you did, you stumbled through the door as you balanced your things.
“what’s all of this?” marcello asked as he got up from the couch to help you bring your things inside.
“i quit my job.” you said as you set your purse down on the coffee table.
“what?! you did??” he asked, and you nodded.
“i was sitting at my desk, and i kept thinking about what you said the other night. all of a sudden, i was walking into my boss’ office, turned in my id, and quit.” you said.
“well, it’s about time! you already look less stressed, so that makes me happy.” marcello said to you, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
“i know i don’t have another job or anything lined up yet, but i just had to get out of there. i knew i needed to, but after we talked the other night, i finally had that push i needed to go through with it.”
“i’m glad that i could help.” marcello laughed, pulling you into his arms. “but i don’t want you to stress about finding another job. take some time off, you deserve it more than anything.”
“i love you. thank you for always supporting me and advocating for me.”
“forever.” he said with a smile, holding his pinky out to you. you smiled, hooking your pinky with his. “i love you.” he said, pressing a soft kiss to your lips.
Synopsis: Jack can’t get enough of sleepy cuddles and gets excessively clingy
T/W: Jack being super clingy and smothering you with cuddles
A/N: Hope anyone’s still here 🫣
The bedroom was dim, only the warm glow of the bedside lamp illuminating it. The sound of rain tapped against the windows of the Louisville high-rise — the only sound in the room. The whole bedroom smelled like Jack’s cologne — warm, woody, and unequivocally him.
You had just slipped into one of his oversized t-shirts —well, oversized for you— the fabric hanging low on your thighs as you padded barefoot across the carpeted floor. He watched you from the bed, his curls a little messy, his eyes lazy but inviting, luring you in.
“You coming to bed?” he asked, patting the spot beside him.
“I’m here,” you giggled, sliding under the covers.
The moment you did, it was like Jack turned into a human octopus. He immediately wrapped himself around you — arms, legs, everything. One arm draped across your waist, the other tucked beneath your shoulders. His leg hooked over yours, and his entire body molded into yours like he’d been waiting all day to hold you like this.
“Jack,” you giggled, struggling slightly under his weight. “You’re suffocating me,” you lied. I mean, he was indeed suffocating you — but you didn’t care, not one bit.
“That’s exactly what I want,” he murmured into your hair, just behind your ear. “You don’t get to move now. I’ve been thinking about this all day. You’re mine now.”
You turned your head just enough to face him — close and glowing with his boyish smile that reached all the way to his baby blues.
“Cuddling is serious business,” he said, completely straight-faced. “I don’t take it lightly.”
And he didn’t. Every time you shifted or tried to move, he adjusted with you — his grip soft but impossible to escape. You were completely tangled up with him — his arm across your ribs, his thumb drawing lazy circles over them, his hand casually sliding lower under your shirt to rest on your bare lower tummy, his leg anchoring you firmly in place.
“Comfy?” he asked.
“Yes, but you’re so much,” you giggled.
“I know,” he said proudly. “I’m the best at this. Professional cuddler,” he grinned, dead serious.
You rolled your eyes, but the truth was — it was perfect and you knew it. As he finally drifted off to sleep, you could feel the steady rhythm of his breathing, the gentle rise and fall of his chest against your back, his nose and breath buried in your neck like he needed to inhale you to sleep. There was something so safe and warm about it — so intoxicatingly addictive.
When you shifted a little in your sleep, his body instinctively gripped you taut again — his muscles immediately knowing when you moved, and immediately reacting, even in his sleep.
You stayed awake for a few more minutes, just thinking about how lucky you were — his hand draped tightly around your upper arm. Minutes later, you felt his hand —still wrapped snugly around your upper arm— slowly brushing up and down in soft, sleepy strokes — Jack still asleep. You figured his body was just so in tune with yours.
The way he was so effortlessly cute was something you couldn’t handle. Seeing a man this big, tall, strong, and handsome act like a lost puppy around you was adorable — god, it was addictive.
Minutes passed. Then more. He never let go.
His breathing had slowed, his grip seemingly loosening slightly — but when you shifted to grab a glass of water from the nightstand, he groaned and pulled you right back in, eyes still closed.
“Nooo, you can’t go anywhere,” he whined, finally opening his eyes and pouting dramatically.
“Jack…” you chuckled.
“No. I need you right here…” he demanded, mumbling possessively and half-asleep. You gave in.
He wrapped around you again, the two of you immediately falling back asleep. And eventually, your heartbeats synced. Everything else didn’t matter — the storm, the things that sometimes clouded each of your minds, the world outside. None of it mattered. You were just two bodies woven together in the purest form of love.
His fingers traced slow, lazy circles on your tummy, and his voice came out in a whisper. “I sleep better when I’m holdin’ you.”
“You always say that.” You giggled, heart full.
“’Cause it’s true.” He nuzzled into your shoulder with a sleepy pout. “You make everything feel better. I hate fallin’ asleep without you.”
You smirked, flattered. “Your cuddles are my favorite place in the world to be.”
“Oh, absolutely. When you’re cuddling me from behind, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be.” You let out a small, happy sigh.
He barely managed a reply before sleep began tugging at you both again. And just before you drifted off —fully swaddled in Jack’s excessive, possessive, obsessive cuddles— you heard him murmur something so soft it almost got lost in the peaceful silence.
“I love the way you fit against me, baby.”
“And I love the way you wrap around me,” you softly muttered.
————————————————————————————
Eventually, morning came. The rain had stopped sometime in the early hours, and the only sound now was the slow, steady breathing of the man wrapped around you like he needed you to breathe.
Jack was still asleep, and still holding onto you. You blinked a few times, adjusting to the light, but quickly realized… you couldn’t really move — at all.
Jack had somehow pulled you even closer in his sleep — how was that even possible? His body was curled around yours like you were his favorite teddy bear: one arm hooked tightly under your ribs, the other draped over your chest with his hand tucked under your jaw. His leg had migrated further up and was now practically resting on your hip, heavy and warm.
You tried to shift slightly to get out of bed, hoping not to wake him, but the second you moved, a soft groan rumbled in his throat and his grip tightened.
“Mm-mm,” he mumbled sleepily, face pressed into your neck. “Nooope. Stay here.” My little baby, you thought.
“You’re awake?” you whispered, suppressing a laugh.
“No,” he mumbled, half-asleep and still stubborn. “I’m sleeping. You’re dreaming this conversation. Now shut up and don’t leave me.” You could feel the pout in his voice but you weren’t complaining — you found it completely adorable.
“You’re ridiculous,” you teased, but you felt all warm and fuzzy.
He didn’t answer. He just squeezed you again, his long, thick fingers now tracing lazy, sleepy shapes along your exposed side under the blanket.
After a few minutes, when you thought he’d drifted off again, he spoke — his morning voice thick with sleepy gravel and barely above a whisper.
“You always feel this good in the morning?”
“I’m literally half-crushed right now,” you muttered into the pillow.
He chuckled, soft but smug. “Perfect.”
It wasn’t just that he liked cuddling — it was like he needed it. It was like your body next to his grounded him. The clinginess wasn’t even on purpose anymore, it was instinct.
You tried to stretch your legs, but his knee followed yours, and you had to hold back a chuckle.
You tried to roll over to face him, and he whined like a golden retriever who’d just been moved off the couch.
“Jack!” you laughed, finally facing him. He immediately adjusted his hold.
“I like it like this,” he argued, peeking one eye open. His hair was sticking up wildly, curls everywhere, and his voice was still half-slurred with sleep. “I always wake up clingy. You’re so warm.”
“You’re a furnace.” You chuckled, moving your hands to softly brush your fingers across his abs.
“You love it.” Jack gave you a big, boyish smile, and you swore you’d never been more in love.
“I do.” You sighed contentedly, your body relaxing back into his hold. And just like that, he let out the happiest little sigh, like he was a kid…
His hand slid under your shirt again —not to initiate anything sexual, but just to anchor himself there— palm pressed flat over your stomach like it was his favorite spot on Earth.
After a beat of silence, he added, more awake now but still gentle, “I’m serious, though… it’s crazy how good this feels. You make mornings feel like a dream.”
You leaned in just enough to press a kiss to the bearded underside of his jaw.
Then he kissed your temple. Then your cheek. Then the tip of your nose. Then your lips — the slow, sleepy kind of kiss that doesn’t lead anywhere except right back into each other.
Eventually, when your stomach growled and you once again tried to leave the bed, he let out a dramatic groan and flopped flat onto your back like a human blanket.
You just laughed into the mattress as he said, “Guess we’re never leavin’. Hope you didn’t make plans, baby.”
I can’t help but feel like who I used to be associated with lost me a lot of action, friends, and credibility on this site. I wish I never met this person. I wish I could see thru the bullshit and have made better choices.
They weren’t good to me. And I can see that now, after all the damage is already long over.
You live and you learn, but I wish it never happened at all.
summary: after getting stood up, you realize you would've rather spent the evening with your best friend.
“hey! what are you doing tonight?” marcello text you one evening.
“i actually have a date tonight,” you replied.
“no way? finally getting back out there, huh?” he asked. marcello was your best friend, so he was update on all your relationship troubles.
"yeah. this guy from work has shown interest previously. and since i'm newly single, i finally accepted his offer for dinner." you replied.
"good for you! i'm happy you feel comfortable enough to start going out on dates again. i hope he doesn't break your heart like the last asshole." he said.
"you'll be the first to know if he does."
you and marcello text for a little bit while you finished getting ready. once you were all done up, you headed out to your uber to make your way to the restaurant. you put your name on the list to save a table, and waited in the lobby for your date to arrive.
as ten minutes turned into 30, then to 45, then to two hours, you realized you were being stood up. you’d text your date for updates, but he hadn’t been responding.
“what a fucking joke.” you sighed. you stepped out and grabbed your phone, opening your contacts and calling marcello.
“hey! your date over already? how was it?” he asked when he answered. you hesitated before speaking.
“well,” you began, immediately starting to cry.
“you don’t need to say anything. send me your location and i’ll come get you.” he said, hearing the lump in your throat.
“thank you.” you said through tears. you text him the restaurant you were at and he told you he’d be there as soon as he can. you went back inside and sat at the bar, ordering a drink to take your mind off the night you’d had. you sat there and sipped on your drink while you waited for marcello. you tried so hard to not fully start crying, because you knew you were going to start sobbing. that was the last thing you wanted to do in public.
“hey, there you are.” you heard marcello say behind you.
“yeah, here i am. alone, and looking pitiful.” you sighed.
“no, you are not pitiful. it’s not your fault your date is an idiot and stood you up.” he said. you looked up at him and gave him a once over.
“you look nice. you didn’t get dressed up for me, did you?” you asked.
“of course i did. i may not be the person you planned on spending the evening with, but you still deserve to be taken out on a date.” he said.
“you’re so right. plus, i look really good in this outfit, so i would hate for it to have gone to waste.” you laughed. you left the bar and were taken to a table and started dinner.
the night ended up being amazing, you and marcello enjoying drinks, your food, and just being with each other, making you realize that there’s no one else you would have rather spent the evening with.
you loved hanging out with marcello, because he always made you feel important. in the years that you’d been friends, you’d become closer than you ever thought you were going to be. you’d met sam and katrina first, through some friends of a friend. when katrina introduced you to marcello, you immediately hit it off and became fast friends.
later that evening, marcello had taken you home and helped you get inside. in your upset mood, you ended up drinking a lot more than you intended to, so you were struggling getting inside.
“alright, let’s get you changed an into bed.” marcello said as he helped you to your room. you sat on the edge of your bed as you watched him move around your room, gathering your sleep clothes. he laid them out and helped you get changed.
“marcello, can i ask you something?” you asked as you slipped your shirt over your head.
“what’s up?” he asked.
“do you think i’m unlovable?” you asked quietly.
“absolutely not. why would you ask that?”
“it just seems like it. i got stood up tonight, my last relationship was only like, four months. i’m beginning to think that i’m not cut out to be in a relationship.”
“y/n, please don’t think like that. your family loves you. your friends love you. sam and katrina love you. i love you. you deserve all the love in the world. all that, plus more.” he said to you. he cupped your face in his hands and rubbed his thumbs across your cheeks. “tell me you believe that.”
“you love me?” you asked him.
“of course i love you. you’re my best friend.” he said pulling you into your chest.
“i love you too.” you hugged him tight, the sound of his heart beat slowly lulling you to sleep.
“c’mon, let’s get you to sleep.” he said, laying you down. you nuzzled into your pillows and let out a deep sigh.
“thank you for taking care of me.” you said softly.
“always.” marcello said with a small smile. “i’m gonna crash on your couch, if you don’t mind.”
“stay with me.” you said, reaching your arms out to him, making grabby hands.
“well, if you insist.” he laughed. he slid his shoes off and climbed into bed with you, making himself comfortable as the big spoon. you nuzzled into his chest and intertwined your fingers with his, quickly drifting off into what would be the most comfortable night’s sleep.
summary: when marcello comes home slightly drunk, he can't help but remind you how much he loves you.
"are you sure you can’t come with me tonight?" marcello called from the bathroom. he was getting ready for a dinner party, and he'd been begging for you to come as his plus one.
"as much as i would love to get dressed up and go to a fancy dinner with you, i have so much work i need to catch up on.” you sighed. you walked over to marcello standing at the bathroom counter. he was dressed in a black button up with black pant, and he was clasping his chain around his neck. "you're so handsome." you said, resting your chin on his shoulder and meeting his gaze in the mirror. you watched his face flush, and you giggled, reaching up to press a kiss to his cheek before walking away.
he finished getting ready, and walked over to you at your desk, pulling you up from your chair.
"i hope you know that all i’m going to be thinking about tonight is you." he said, intertwining his hands with yours.
"good. i wouldn't want you thinking about anyone else." you said, closing the space between you.
"i wouldn't dare." he laughed, pressing a kiss to your lips. you followed him downstairs while he gathered his things. "we shouldn't be too late." he added before walking to the door.
"no worries. just let me know when you're on your way home." you said to him, and he nodded. marcello moved closer to you, giving you a hug and kissing you good bye.
"i love you." he said softly.
"i love you too." you said kissing him again. "have a drink for me." you smiled. he nodded and he left, you waving as he climbed into the back of his uber.
you went back inside and started on your work, ordering yourself dinner. after a while of staring at your computer screen, you'd finally finished your work and were able to laze in bed. you'd ordered yourself dinner, found a new show to watch and lounged in bed for the rest of the night.
marcello had been keeping you updated throughout the night, on the goings-on at dinner, where the night was taking him and his group. he told you that they were finished with dinner and ended up at a nearby bar. you could tell that he had already downed a few due to the amount of spelling errors in his texts, which made you laugh.
you let him enjoy his night and turned your attention back to your show. as it got later, you were wondering when he was going to return home. just as you were going to text him asking where he was, you heard the front door open, marcello mumbling something as he began trudging up the stairs. you paused your show once you heard him coming down the hallway to your bedroom.
"mmmm, there she is." he said softly, stumbling over to the bed. he plopped down and crawled closer to you. he pressed a sloppy kiss to your cheek, causing you to giggle.
"marcello, my love, please don't take this the wrong way, but your breath smells terrible.” you said, pushing his face away from you.
"no, c'mere." he laughed, moving back to your side. he nuzzled his head into your neck and wrapped his arms around your waist.
"stop!" you laughed, breathless, as his fingers began tickling your hips. you fought against him, your arms useless under his weight.
after some time of you begging him to stop, marcello finally rolled off of you and stumbled to the bathroom. you heard him struggling to change, stumbling around the closet. you giggled as you heard him curse after the third time he bumped into the dresser.
he finally made his way out of the bathroom and flopped back down in bed, crawling into your arms and resting his chin on your chest. you began running your fingers through his hair and he smiled at you.
"you're so beautiful." he said softly.
"so are you."
"do you know how much i love you?" he asked. his eyes were falling close, and you could tell that he was fighting sleep.
"pretty well, yeah. but i always like to be reminded." you smiled. you felt his arms tighten around your waist as he pressed a kiss to the tip of your nose.
"you are the prettiest girl in the world. i've never met anyone like you and you are so incredibly special." he said, nuzzling your nose.
"i love you so much, sweet boy." you said, booping his nose.
"i feel so lucky that you've chosen to spend your life with me. i never want to lose you." he said softly, laying his head on your chest. you continued playing with his hair as he kept telling you how much he loved you, and how grateful he was for you. "i know im drunk, but i hope you know that these feelings are there all the time. i don’t want you to think that this confession is alcohol induced." he laughed.
"of course i don’t. you've been very clear about your feelings towards me and i know how you feel. and i feel the same. although, sometimes i can't help but feel like you settled for me, considering everything you've got going on for you." you sighed.
"never! you are the greatest thing that has happened to me. because i know that you love me for me. i know that if the status and the wealth all went away tomorrow, that you would still be by my side." he said, and you nodded. as he continued speaking, you felt a tear fall along your temple.
“i love you so much.” he repeated, scooting closer to your face. he pressed a soft kiss to your lips before pulling away and resting his forehead against yours. “so so much.”
he scooted back down before resting his head back on your chest. you continued playing with his hair as he mumbled some more words of affirmation towards you.
after a while, once he finally stopped talking, you felt his breathing slow as faint snores filled the room. you smiled to yourself, making sure that he stayed asleep before you fell asleep yourself.
marcello truly was the love of your life, and he always took pride in reminding you of it.

“another plus one at a fancy celebrity dinner, i don’t even like coming to this things anymore.” the person standing next to you at the bar said to you. you’d been a plus one at a number of these events with your boyfriend, marcello, and these events were picking up now that he was making a name for himself in hollywood. the person with you at the bar was someone that you’d met at a few events, and you enjoyed hanging out with them, as they understood being in a relationship with a famous.
“oh, i don’t mind them. i love any excuse to get dressed up and have free food and drink all night.” you laughed. just then, the bartender handed you your drinks and you and your friend walked off from the bar to go mingle. you got lost in the crowd, searching for marcello, when you bumped into another group of girls. you overheard them talking about marcello, and you.
“i don’t know what he sees in her. she’s a nobody. he should be with someone famous.” one of the girls said.
“like who? you?” another one said.
“well, i’m sure i can make more of an impression than boring y/n.” the first girl said. you shoved past the girls, and you heard them laughing when they noticed it was you. you pushed your way through the crowd and to an outside seating area, taking in the fresh air and catching your breath. you tried to push the words of those girls out of your head, but as they replayed in your head, you felt the tears start falling down your cheeks.
was this really the right place for you? did you not belong in this world? was marcello just waiting around for the next best thing to come along so he could drop you?
the thoughts continued racing through your mind when you heard someone calling your name. you turned in the direction the sound was coming from, but you didn’t see anyone coming towards you.
“y/n! y/n, wake up!” you heard the voice again, followed by a sudden jolt.
you gasped loudly, jumping up in bed, panting to catch your breath. you looked around, noticing you were back in your bedroom, the light from marcello’s bedside lamp dimly illuminating the room. you turned to face marcello, who was awake and had a concerned look on his face.
“where am i? what happened?” you asked, still trying to wrap your mind around what was happening.
“you were tossing and turning, and i heard you crying in your sleep. were you having a nightmare?” marcello asked, rubbing your back. you touched your cheeks, wet spots under your eyes were tears must’ve been.
“thank goodness it was just a dream.” you sighed, finally catching your breath.
“are you okay?” marcello asked, and you nodded. “what was your dream about?” he asked, and you took a deep breath before speaking again.
“we were at some event or gala or something where i was your plus one. i overheard some people talking about how they thought i wasn’t good enough for you, and that you should be with someone famous. their words really struck a nerve, and i ran out of the ballroom. i was outside on a balcony or something, crying and hyperventilating. i heard someone calling my name, which i now realize was you trying to wake me up.” as you explained your dream to marcello, you felt yourself start crying again.
“mi amor.” he said softly, pulling you into him. you sobbed into his chest as he held you tight, rubbing your back and providing all the comfort he knew you needed.
“i guess sometimes i get insecure about our relationship.” you admitted to him. “sometimes i think i’m not good enough for you, and one day you’re gonna find someone better and leave me for them.”
“y/n, look at me.” marcello said, holding you at arms length and looking deep into your eyes. “get that thought out of your head immediately. you’re it for me. there is no one in this world that i would rather spend my life with than you. you are more than good enough, and i feel lucky knowing that i get to spend every day with you. you mean the world to me, and i will make sure to remind you of that every single day. i love you so incredibly much, and nothing, and no one, will ever ever change that.”
“i love you too, baby.” you said softly. you finally caught your breath and wiped the rest of your tears from your cheeks. “i really am so grateful for you, and i don’t know what i would do without you.”
“well, i guess we’ll never know. because this is a forever thing.” marcello said, holding his pinky out to you. you hooked your pinky with his, the both of you pressing kisses to either ends of your hands.
“forever.” you repeated. “i’m sorry for waking you up.” you said as marcello pulled you into his arms.
“oh, you don’t have to be sorry. i’m just glad you’re okay.” marcello said, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
marcello held you tight, comforting you for as long as you needed it before you finally fell back asleep. you hated that you were feeling this way, but you were so thankful that marcello was always there for you when you needed him. you really did love him with all your heart, and he continued making sure that you knew he felt the same.
summary: when marcello is home alone with your daughter for the first time, he calls you in to console her when nothing else works.
requested by @jackmans-poison
“are you sure you don’t want me to stay? i can cancel, i’m sure the girls will understand.” you said to marcello, who held your baby in your arms. your daughter was born just a few months ago, and tonight you were having your first girl’s night out since you’d gotten pregnant and had your baby. it was also the first night you were leaving marcello alone with her, or leaving her alone all together.
“babe, we’ll be fine. go, and enjoy your night. you deserve it.” marcello said, standing in the room with you while you were getting ready. once you were finally dressed and done up, you said your goodbyes to marcello and your daughter, before making your way downstairs and meeting up with your friends in the uber.
you made your way to dinner, having the best night with your friends.
“so, y/n, how is motherhood treating you?” one of your friends asked.
“oh, it’s been great so far. d/n has been such a gift. i know it’s only been four months, but getting to watch her grow has been so wonderful. she’s coming into her personality, and marcello and i love it.” you said to them, your friends cooing and awing as you showed them pictures. you were the first of your close friend group to have a baby, so all of your friends were already obsessed with your daughter. “it was hard at first, especially with marcello’s work schedule, but we’ve finally fallen into a good routine, and we’re making it work.”
“that’s great, y/n. we’re so happy for you.” you friends said as they continued swiping through your photos of your daughter.
your dinner ended up being wonderful, and you had the best time catching up with your friends. you stayed out for a while, walking around the city and trying to find other things to pass the evening. you were all having such a great time being out that you didn’t want the night to end.
you were sitting on a bench outside a cafe, waiting for your group to get their orders. the cafe was about to close, but one of your friends knew the owner, so they stayed open just bit longer for your group.
as you were sitting outside, you felt your phone start ringing in your purse. you pulled it out, seeing marcello’s name and photo flash across the screen.
“hey baby.” you said when you answered. you were immediately met with screams, hearing marcello shushing your baby over the speaker. “marcello? what’s going on?”
“y/n! please come home. i cant get her to stop crying!” he said, and you could hear genuine fear in his voice.
“i’m on my way.” you said, quickly hanging up. you turned to your group, explaining your situation to them and telling them you needed to get home. they all nodded, wished you good night and good luck as you climbed into the back of a cab and made your way home. you got to your building and raced upstairs, frantically unlocking the door.
“oh, thank god.” marcello sighed once he saw you.
“is everything okay?” you said taking the baby from him.
“i cant get her to stop crying. she’s been fed and changed, she had her nap earlier. i don’t know what else it could be.” he explained to you, scared that something else may be going on.
you held your daughter close to your chest, gently bouncing and shushing her. you started singing to her, a random song you heard on the radio on the way back to your apartment. you didnt know how or why, but singing to her always helped soothe her.
after a bit of you singing to her, she finally stopped crying and fell asleep on your chest.
“there we go.” you said softly, continuing to rock her back and forth and rub her back.
“how? how did you do that?” marcello asked, wiping the tears from his eyes.
“she just missed her mama, that’s all.” you teased. you walked her to your room and put her back in the bassinet that sat on your side of the bed. once she was down and asleep for a bit, you turned your attention back to marcello, who stood dumbfounded on the other side of your bedroom.
“wonder woman.” he said softly, pulling you into his arms and hugging you tight.
“oh, that was nothing.” you laughed. you pulled out of his grasp and looked up at him. “you okay?” you asked, and he just nodded. he turned away from you, but you could tell he was fighting tears.
“i was so scared.” he said quietly, letting his head fall. “everything was going well, until it wasn’t. i didn’t know what to do, and i started freaking out. i felt like a failure as a dad.”
“hey, look at me.” you said, pulling his face back to look at you. “you are not a failure. one bad night does not erase the four months worth of good nights that you’ve already had with her. marcello, we’re both learning how to be parents together, and figuring out what works. every day you learn something new, but you’re not a failure. you love that little girl more than i’ve ever seen you love anything, and thats all that matters.”
marcello fell into your arms again and you held him tight, rubbing his back as you heard his sniffles in your shoulders.
“i love you so much.” he said softly.
“i love you so much.” you repeated, holding him tight. he pulled away and wiped the tears from his cheeks. “if you need more cheering up, i brought you leftovers.” you said, wagging your eyebrows at him.
“oh, you’re the best.” he laughed.
you both stayed up a little big longer, marcello eating the food you brought him, and you making sure your baby stayed asleep. once marcello was finally finished eating, the two of you finally got ready for bed. after the night you both had, you were beyond tired and couldn’t wait to go to sleep.

you and marcello were sitting at home one afternoon, nervously awaiting a phone call. he just recently when through a long audition process for a movie that he had dedicated so much time and work preparing for. today was the day that he was finally supposed to be hearing back about whether or not he landed the part.
his phone was sitting on the coffee table, you and him both on the couch waiting for it to ring. once it finally soundeded, marcello practically jumped at the table to answer it.
"hello? yes, this is marcello." he said into the speaker. you watched nervously next to him as he spoke to the person on the other line. he was stoic, so you couldn't read whether or not he was receiving good or bad news.
"okay, thank you so much." he said quietly. he listened for a bit longer as they continued speaking on the other end. "great, i'll be on the lookout for more information, thank you so much!" he said, a smile finally spreading across his face. he hung up the phone, placing it back on the coffee table. he turned to you, smiling again. "i got the part!" he cheered, the both of you jumping up from the couch. you were both jumping in excitement, hugging each other tight.
"marcello, congratulations! i'm so proud of you!" you said, swaying him back and forth.
"thank you, baby. thank you." he said, squeezing you tight. "thank you for being so supportive and patient with me throughout this entire process. i think i would've lost it if i didn't have you by my side."
"i will be here no matter what. you know i'm always gonna be in your corner." you said, kissing him softly. "i love you."
"i love you too, baby." he said, kissing you again.
a few days passed since marcello received his casting news, and he was already busy with pre-production things getting ready to start filming. he was grateful that it was the summer, and this was the only thing on his plate at the moment.
one weekend, you wanted to do something to congratulate him on landing this role. so, you decided to throw him a little surprise party. you made reservations at his favorite restaurant, and invited his family and friends to come celebrate marcello.
the night of the get together, marcello was busy with some things for the movie, and you were busy putting the final touches on the evening. as people were beginning to arrive at the restaurant, you directed them all to the room you had set up. they all began taking their seats at the table, and made your way back out to the front of the restaurant. you'd convinced him to come meet your for dinner after he was done with his work for the day.
you watched as his uber pulled up to the front, marcello climbing out the backseat.
"mi amor." he said softly, wrapping his arm around you, pressing a kiss to your temple.
"i hope you're hungry." you said to him as you walked back inside.
"starving." he laughed. you took him back to the room where your party was set, and he immediately questioned you. "why are we seated so far back?"
"you'll see." you said softly. you pulled open the door to the room, revealing your group.
"CONGRATULATIONS!!" they all cheered in unison, marcello taken aback by the celebration.
"what is all this?" he asked, genuine look of shock on his face.
"we all wanted to get together to congratulate you on landing your first movie role." you said, rubbing his back. "now sit, enjoy your meal, and bask in your celebration." you added, leading him over to the table. you took your seat next to him as you all started your meal. conversation quickly flowing between everyone at the table.
you sat back, happily enjoying a successful night, successful suprise, and happy that marcello was enjoying himself as well. after a few hours, once everything was all said and done, you all began to leave from the restaurant and go your separate ways home. you stood back as marcello continued taking in hugs and congratulations from people as they left.
once everyone was finally gone, you led marcello back to your car and drove home.
"i still cant believe you did all of that for me." he said quietly as you walked into your apartment.
"well, believe it. you deserve all the love and support." you said with a smile.
"i don't know what i did you deserve you." he said, pulling you into his arms and pressing a kiss to your lips. "i love you so much."
"i love you so much more. and i know i tell you all the time, but i am so proud of you. and you know that i will always be cheering you on. i love getting to watch you thrive."
"i'm so grateful that i have your support." he said, running his thumbs across your cheeks. "i don't know what i would do without you."
summary: when marcello sees you talking with some other guys at a party, he let's his feelings get the best of him.
requested by anonymous.
it was saturday night, and you and marcello were getting ready to go out. he was scheduled to make an appearance at a brand party, and you were his plus one. once you were finished getting ready, you made your way downstairs and outside to the car that was waiting to take you to the party.
once you arrived to the party, you and marcello were immediately greeted by other attendees, before marcello was taken to a photo op area for pictures and other interviews he was obligated, since he was a bran ambassador. you were sitting at the bar, nursing a drink, while you waited for marcello to come back to you. you were people watching while you were waiting, exchanging small hellos as people came and went next to you at the bar. after a while, a couple of guys came up to order drinks.
“hi, how are you?” one of them asked.
“good, how are you?” you asked, being cordial. the three of you struck up conversation, and you were enjoying talking to them. while you were talking to them, you felt as though someone was watching you from across the bar. behind you, marcello was shooting daggers in your direction. he didn’t like seeing you with other guys, especially seeing that you seemed to be enjoying being around them.
he hated feeling this way. he trusted you more than anything, but he didn’t know those guys and didn’t know their intentions. all he wanted was to be back at your side.
“alright, we’re almost done here. just a couple more photos, and you all are free to mingle.” one of the brand managers said to marcello and rest of the group. they all posed for more pictures, marcello immediately making his way back over to you once they were done. one of the guys was telling you something when you saw marcello walking over to you.
“hey baby.” you said with a smile as marcello walked over to you at the bar. he squeezed in next to you, putting space between you and the guy next to you. he draped his arm around your arms, and you felt him tense against you. he made small talk with the guys that had been talking to you.
“so, do you two just spend your nights hitting on girls at bars, or what?” marcello blurted out, interrupting one of the guys who was talking.
“excuse me?” he said.
“do you just find pretty girls alone at bars, assume they’re single, and hope something comes of it?”
“i take it you’re her boyfriend?” the other guy said to marcello, and he just nodded. “got it. we’ll leave you alone.” both of the guys walked away, and you lost them amongst a sea of people. you turned your attention to marcello, an upset look on his face.
“marcello, what the hell was that about?” you asked, shrugging out of his grasp and standing from your barstool.
“i’m sorry. but am i in the wrong for not wanting other guys to hit on you?”
“why are you acting like that’s what was going on here? we were just talking. also, why do you think i would have let anything happen with them? do you not trust me?” you asked.
“no, it’s not that-“
“save it.” you interrupted. “i know you have to stay here for the whole night, but i don’t. i’m going home.” you said, storming out of the party.
“y/n, wait!” marcello called, following behind you.
“marcello, please. i hate when you get like this, and i don’t want to deal with it.” you said, confirming your uber order.
“y/n, i’m not gonna let you go home by yourself, while you’re upset. talk to me.” he said.
“no. just go back inside and fill your obligations. you can stay here while you get over yourself.” you said. just then, your uber pulled up, and you climbed in the backseat. you rode home, letting your tears fall as you sat in the backseat. once you finally made it home, you showered and got ready for your bed. you tried to sleep, but your mind was racing and you kept tossing and turning. events of the night kept replaying in your mind, keeping you awake.
a little while later, you heard the front door open, marcello coming into the apartment.
“baby, are you awake?” he asked quietly as he came into the bedroom.
“no.” you spat, pulling the blankets over your head.
“y/n, please talk to me.” marcello said, turning your bedside light on. you sat up against the headboard, crossing your arms over your chest.
“what got into you tonight?” you asked him.
“i don’t know. something about seeing you with those guys really got be heated. i hate to admit it, but it made me jealous.” he said to you.
“why? you have no reason to be jealous. do you not trust me enough to not cheat on you? do you not trust me enough to be able to handle myself around someone that i have zero romantic interest in? have i ever given you any indication that i would ever do anything to betray your trust?” you asked, frustration filling you to the brim.
“no, you haven’t. and i’m so sorry for making you feel that way. i do trust you. i trust you with my life. and i’m so sorry for acting like i did and for making you think anything otherwise. i love you more than anything else in the world, and i hate knowing that i’ve upset you for something so stupid.” marcello sighed.
“you’re right, it is stupid. and, for what it’s worth, both of those men were happily married. we were talking about their spouses, and i was telling them about you.” you said to him.
“great, now i feel worse.” marcello said, holding his head in his hands.
“you should.” you teased. you moved closer to marcello, taking his hands in yours. “marcello, look at me.” you said, marcello locking eyes with you. he waited for you to speak, a pout pulling on his bottom lip. “marcello, i love you so incredibly much. my heart is yours, and no other person in the world is ever going to change that. you’re mine, and i’m yours. i never want you thinking otherwise.”
“i love you too, baby. and again, i’m so sorry for my behavior tonight. it was childish, and i’m honestly kinda embarrassed by it.” he sighed.
“its okay. now, let’s just move past this, and go to bed. it’s honestly been quite a terrible night, and it’s starting to catch up to me.” you said. marcello nodded, and he got up from the bed. you watched as he moved around the room, changing from his evening clothes and into his pajamas. he climbed into bed, and you pulled him into your arms, pressing a kiss to his lips.
“i love you.” you said softly.
“i love you too.” marcello said, kissing you again.
