[pm] Of course not. He's an honorable man. Besides, he wouldn't be stupid enough to hurt the slayer's boyfriend. You're probably safer than me. Listen, deals like this don't come around often as I'm sure you know. I wouldn't pass this one up. Not that I particularly care. I just would like to be able to ask you about all of this supernatural stuff that keeps popping up so I don't die. And, yeah, I could ask you know, but I don't trust strangers. I'm sure you understand.

[pm] Hey, it’s not like I had much a choice in the matter. Sorta got stuck haunting there. It’s a long story. Point is, I don’t plan on dying anytime soon and contracts are typically binding.

[pm] So sign a good contract. I think it's a good offer. Better than a lot of deals he makes people. I mean, guaranteed protection and comfort for your Summers? If I had family, I'd take him up on that.

[pm] Spend a couple a months around Wolfram and Hart’s offices and you would be, too.

[pm] They kill their own kind. They have no sense of honor. Why would I ever spend time around those idiots?

[pm] Why don’t you consult Fairfax for assistance then? She seems to have her information in order.

[pm] She believes it to be possible. Do you?

[pm] There are a few ways it could be approached, possibly. But considering the time and day, I don’t foresee any attainable outcomes to this scenario. It’ll be morning and time for his trial by the time those lard asses at the court houses bother to push any papers.

What does Lyn think of Estela?

Lyn thinks that Estela is a fascinating individual. She sees an insurmountable strength in her that attracts her. Lyn loves seeing other women kick ass in male dominated workplaces and Estela definitely fits that with her current position within the mob. Estela is clearly intelligent with a mind for strategy which she appreciates, however, if Estela becomes more militaristic, Lyn will criticize her involvement with the mob. Lyn doesn’t do things she doesn’t love so she doesn’t come at the inner workings of the mob from a militaristic standpoint—this more unique view being one of the reasons Eirnin hired her in the first place. Because of that, she doesn’t care to be bothered by the members of the mob that do so Liam is not high on her list. The more Liam instills the harsh militaristic ways in Estela, the more Lyn will disapprove. It isn’t that Lyn isn’t already intense and strict, but that she wants to enjoy what she does. She thinks that Estela would too. A part of Lyn sees Estela as a weakness for Eirnin, but she’s been getting over that. The fact that Eirnin is actually putting someone else before his needs surprises her so she values Estela a lot in that regard. At the end of the day, Lyn has Estela’s back and would die for her.

[pm] I didn’t understand any of that popstar part. Apparently, I’m culturally inept. I didn’t have any idea about Eirnin. I don’t think there is any way to ask about such a thing without sounding incredibly awkward.

[pm] I'm sure you have more important things to worry about. Like killing demons. What's that like? You probably wouldn't be able to ask him without sounding like you were hitting on him.

[pm] Something about going against company policy regarding an agreement she made with them, yes. I can’t say I’m particularly fond of the idea of Lilah having a good day, but I’ll be glad when Eirnin is among us free people again. 

An American Popstar? Anyone I might have heard of? Eirnin is gay?

[jackorlyn]

[pm] Sworn to confidentiality. You can't expect me to tell all of my secrets. Let's just say that she's so lucky she's a star, but she cried cried cried in the lonely nights. Oh, you didn't know? He's pansexual actually. You should ask him about it. He gets very enthusiastic about equality and all of that. I have to threaten to stab him to get him to shut up.

[pm] I have the unfortunate pleasure of being a former partner of Lilah Morgan’s. She was probably too busy showing off about getting him to sign anything to begin with to actually do any work on the case. She’s incredibly clever, but manipulative and very power-orientated. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s using Eirnin as an “in” after her demotion. 

I’d be happy to share some stories about my time as a rogue demon hunter, and Eirnin’s affection for Estela speaks to his character. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

[pm] Ah, she was demoted recently. Interesting that she should come to aid Eirnin just as she needs something with which to work her way back up to top. At least this guarantees that she'll be working that flat ass off to please him.

And I'll tell you about the time I was a bodyguard for an American pop star. You know, that's how I met Eirnin. It was at a gay bar. There was so much glitter than evening.

[pm] He should be released until his trial. They can’t hold him reasonably unless they view him as a flight risk, and any good lawyer can argue that with his business and family commitments, he isn’t one. 

Estela is admirable and strong, as always.

[pm] How interesting that our counsel has yet to argue that then. You're always a good man to know, Wesley. You'll have to tell me about your time as a rogue demon hunter. I'm incredibly intrigued.

You try telling him that without him getting worried she's in trouble. Bloody soft idiot.

[pm] He isn't doing well. It depresses him to be stuck in one place like a caged rat. And there is Estela.

Meta: What is it about the Mob that Lyn is attracted to?

DOLLA DOLLA BILLS.

In all honestly, Lyn is driven by money. When Eirnin first approached her, she was intrigued by the idea of getting to have everything she wanted while still being to say that she actually worked for a living. The mob provides that for her. Lyn is an intense person so she feels at home in most of the environments being in a mob puts her in. And she feels as though she is actively making a difference in her job. It is very misogynistic and male dominated yet she’d been able to prove her worth and that she is far more adept and skilled than many of the men. Being a part of the mob fulfills near every aspect of Lyn’s needs. Money, power, authority, violence, strategy. What it doesn’t allow is for her to have silly fun which is why she turns to burlesque during the nights. But what keeps Lyn a part of the mob is that she feels like she belongs. The mob is about family and she is a part of that. She is able to name people that need her and want her around which is very fulfilling.

[pm] No such concern. I’ve just been incredibly busy and distracted. I apologize. Why are Wolfram and Hart representing him? I instructed our legal department to take the case directly. Are you telling me they failed to act?

[pm] Lilah arranged an in person meeting with him. She was the only person to offer such an arrangement so it is safe to say they failed to act. Thank you for trying to help even though your people didn't see that to fruition.

[pm] Court-willing, my goal is to get him out of there in one fell swoop, same day. I’m working an air tight defense so very likely they’ll see things my way. What’s truly criminal is how long they’ve kept him in there.

[pm] Exactly. You must be the best they've got. I'm glad we've got you representing him.

[pm[ Would it be too much to ask for an update on Mr. Doherty's situation?

[pm] Wesley, I haven't spoken with you in ages. I thought the last shipment we gave you might have misfired.

You can ask about Eirnin all you like. Lilah from Wolfram & Hart is going to be representing him. The police had been pushing the court date forward, claiming they needed more time to gather evidence, but she has gotten a date set in stone finally. We have high hopes for his case. Lilah seems to be capable and the deal they made is highly stalked in our favor.
