❝ the whole HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL of it all really ruins the mood . ❞ hybrid groans as fingers massage temples , the last thing she wants after a long shift is to play troy and gabriela . ❝ but don’t stop on my account , someone has to fill the silence . ❞
“ i have no idea what that means, but i'm assuming it’s a musical... in a high school? ” jolting notes pick up the pace ; uplifting rather than sinking each key in melancholy. he briefly toys with the idea of becoming more involved with current media, before promptly dismissing it as the consequences weren’t quite as dire. his silence isn’t quiet , but rather a constant rummaging of thoughts and ideas --- a palace in shambles, if you will. ever-growing, hungry and insatiable. his tone is complacent, and maybe curious. “ can i ask you something, genevieve? ” a beat. “ and please don’t feel compelled to abide for the sake of pleasantries. ”
white keys sigh , gloved fingers hover silently above, considering for a moment . he acknowledges the presence with a stolen glance , & returns , unfazed, fingers nearly mechanical, trotting along from memory . ♫ don’t go to strangers ... darling . come on to me. ♫ “ it’d be far less morose if you’d sing along, you know. ”
𝚐𝚘𝚛𝚍𝚘𝚗 𝚋𝚎𝚗𝚗𝚎𝚝𝚝 ! is that JACK RIPNER , the ( manipulative ) , ( dogmatic ) but ( charming ) , ( intelligent ) / ( vampire ) ?? ( he ) could pass for IAN SOMERHALDER , if they were ( twenty-eight ) years old and been alive for ( four hundred and twenty ) years . supposedly , they work as a ( doctor ) . + lenny , 22 , brt , she/her .
i’m back at it again, and so help me god if i have to write this intro one more time. tumblr fucked me over 3 times, so dont mind me if i keep this super short.
anyways, about jack:
not necessarily the nicest, but jack is a very attentive doctor who’s highly respected in his profession
his name is 100% not jack oops
thinks naming himself “jack ripner” is quite funny since there are rumors, which he will neither confirm nor deny, he actually paid a london a visit back in the 800′s.
jack’s background is mostly unknown, and the only people who have gotten close enough to know it are the countess and his partner in crime.
in the underworld of supernatural he’s known as “the reaper” albeit not many people know of whose behind the identity. he’s an assassin/hitman, who you mostly pay when you want to get rid of someone - you get to dictate how much pain you want them to undergo, and once you hire him - that’s that. there’s no turning back.
jack’s story takes place roughly 400 years ago, back when he was all flesh and bone and bond by humanity, jack - then alexander, was a farm boy who couldn’t stand farming, a son who couldn’t stand his parents and an overall apathetic person who was far more interested in the unknown than the day-to-day. he’d been the son of a blacksmith and a woman whose name history has long forgotten - as did he, by now. its relevance has long lost meaning. life continued on, much to his dismay, dull and senseless, until one day he was given a job. an opportunity, one might call it - to poison an infamous woman in exchange of riches and a title.
albeit he felt no particular way about the woman and had no real desire to see her dead, his youngest sister dying of smallpox was certainly a driving factor that led him to accept the offer so quickly. he, now in fancy clothes and extensive knowledge, was able to mingle with ease by the higher circles, and his looks certainly helped when it came down to capturing the woman’s attention.
nu the time he arrived at the woman’s chambers, malia (his sister) had long succumbed to her illness - unbeknownst to him, and this mission had been rendered a waste of time. but as clueless men will do, he mixed the contents of his ring into the wine, and the countess took a sip.
but she didn’t fall - all she did was smile, or rather - did something with her mouth that should resemble a smile. calmly then, she made him a counter offer: pledge his loyalty to her and bend the knee, agreeing to join her army for however long she desired, or join the pile of bones rotting away in the dungeon.
not so much out of fear, but sheer curiosity, he accepted the offer, but insisted on seeing his sister one last time before letting the memories of his life be forgotten. she allowed him, and with her consent, he burned the body of his sister that night, and watched her fly to the skies in brazing gold and red, not to be seen again.
he joined the countess army of undead and embraced his new purpose, leaving all that he once was behind. he became a ravenous soldier, undefeated in the battlefield, and ruthless. responsible for the death of entire villages and entire armies, until one by one, his fellow soldiers fell and the modern days started to set. when she no longer needed him, he ventured into the world - learning to play a vast variety of instruments, reading countless books and absorbing all he could.
when he became a doctor - it was not without ulterior motives. and it both infuriated him and amazed him how what once was responsible for ripping his last (and perhaps only) shred of humanity, could not so easily be extinguished.
but it was more than that - you see... jack - or rather, the reaper, is a bit of a collector: but not of rocks or coins or anything as futile as that, but limbs. more specifically: ones who belong to young women, more often human, and being able to examine them up close and select from a wide range of prey certainly influenced his career choice.
he’s sadistic - to say the least, and arguably without empty, though it does seem to some degree jack is capable of loyalty as even today, centuries later, after the countess army was dissipated, he still remains a loyal hound, at her back and call.
he’s extremely dangerous, and despite his composed appearance can be impulsive if you know which buttons to push.
he likes to toy with his preys, and his friends, and most people in his life. his smile doesn’t mean much, and his words can sometime mean even less.
