MASK-ING TAPE!!! *0* FB: https://www.facebook.com/dorkyliui/photos/a.962521633779731.1073742281.532646013433964/962522220446339 Just in case you already have a superhero costume but you don’t have a MASK, here’s a simple tip on how to make a mask for only 2 US$ hehe. — Intro: When I started planning my superhero costume, the only worry I had is where to find a skin fit face masks. Online shops are very helpful however the production and delivery time will take very long and it’s kinda expensive too (roughly 45-60 US$). I KNOW RIGHT! </3 I’ve watched some D.I.Y. tutorials in youtube, researched other techniques in google and even bought liquid rubber latex but still, I don’t feel contented with the results. Then the time I went to Malaysia for Comic & Toys Geek Fest to debut my Nightwing cosplay, I have 8 hrs left and I still have no mask. Well, of course, great ideas will come out during last minute cramming. Hahaha. Below are the steps on how I did my mask. All you need is unleash your creativity, imagination and a lot of… common sense. Hehe! I hope this will also help you with your last minute preparation to whatever masked costume you have! Hehe. “STEP 1”: Put on moisturizer or lotion to your lovely face. Apply glue stick to your eyebrows. (If not, get ready to suffer in pain and say good bye to your eyebrows haha). Put on masking tape strips to face and avoid folds and humps. The thicker layers, the better. “STEP 2”: Prepare a pattern for (A) mask shape and (B) eye holes. This will make your pattern equal to both sides of your face. This is your chance to use your brain hehe. “STEP 3”: Trace the patterns in to the masking tape in your face. (If your hand is shaky, ask someone else to do it for you). “STEP 4”: Remove the masking tape in your face (if you want, you can apply baby powder in the sticky side of the masking tape). Cut the desired shape. EXTRA IDEA: If you want a smoother texture, use white glue as primer, putty or paper mache it. “STEP 5”: Paint it. If you are lazy to use paintbrush (like me haha), use spray paint or airbrush. Let it dry. Stare on it and slowly roll over 100x and smile. BE HAPPY! You now have a mask!!! *confetti explodes* “STEP 6”: Use SPIRIT GUM or body glue to stick it to your face. (make sure your face is not allergic to it and apply glue stick again to your eyebrows. Trust me, you don’t want to lose those brows hahaha!) “STEP 7”: Feel AWESOME! Take lots of SELFIES and have FUN in cosplay! ;)
