Jikyo, the beautiful leader of Kneesocks. We are in the first days of 2015 and we obviously want to know your expectations for this year but let me start asking you about your amazing career, can we wait something different this year?
I am trying my hardest to become a more open person with my fans, a person they can trust and rely on. As for Kneesocks, I feel as if both Yui and I are both anticipating our next release, we both want to please our fans and we are curious to try out different concepts to see if we can pull them off. Iām honestly just really looking forward to the different trends of this year.
We are definitely looking forward to that! Every year we always ask for something, love, success, peace, money and a lot of others things. Can we know what you want in this new year?
She hesitates a moment before responding. āOut of all thingsā¦I want to find love the most. But probably not for the reasons youād expect. I want to be able to understand the songs we put out. I want to understand why people do crazy things for love. I, too, want to be able to do crazy things in an act for love and the person I want to be with. Though, if I canāt find love just yet, I think I want my parents to move closer to me so I can see them more often. I miss them so much.ā
Since weāre talking about it, how do you overcome the feeling of loneliness and longing when youāre having a hard time? Since youāre away from your family and hometown friends. Any advice youād like to leak to those who are going through the same?
"I think the best way to help ease the pain of being alone is to just constantly be in contact with those you miss. I actually try to skype my parents multiple times a week, and Iām constantly texting my friends. Weāre very far apart, but weāre close through technology which is really all you can do. If you find yourself missing someone, just stop what youāre doing and give them a call. Hearing their voice can make things so much easier, especially if youāre having a rough time. Never lose contact, thatās the most important thing."
