remember how fast jonghyun would speak whenever he’s nervous. it was a cute lil habit of his

remember how jonghyun never learned how to ride a bicycle until he was 23 and when he finally learned how to, his new bike got stolen and had to go back to the bike shop the next day, apologized to the bike owner and bought a new one (only to find out a year or two later that minho was the one behind the bike theft)

remember how jonghyun always somehow managed to get a lot of sm’s youtube channel and would post cute n wholesome clips of his dog roo

remember how much love and support jonghyun gave to taemin with his solo career and how much he adored “dracula oppa”/ his “fairy prince”

remember how jonghyun fell asleep on the couch and minho recreation of that famous michelangelo painting and key posted it on weibo

remember how jonghyun got mad from said event so he decided to post 473828292 memes of minho as payback (and just always posted memes of the rest of the members on twitter lol)

Thank you for all the years you have given to the fans. Thank you for adding colour to my otherwise ordinary life. I found you at 13 years old and you are leaving me when I’m 21 but I will still carry your memory with me. You will live on through your music and continue to inspire and motivate me. Honestly I thought a lot about what I wanted to say but I can’t really put it into words. I’m sorry to his family (especially Sodam, you did all you could), friends, the SHINee members, and fellow Shawols. I wish he was still here.

according to WHO, every 40 seconds, a person somewhere in the world commits suicide. every 40 seconds. that’s around 800 000 people a year. that’s why we need to talk about mental health and support people and encourage them to look for help. depression is an illness like any other, and if someone was dying of some disease, you would tell them to go get help. do the same for those suffering from depression. treat it like the serious illness that it is and not something that should be hidden or embarrassing. it’s a silent killer that takes a life every 40 seconds. that fact alone is heartbreaking. those lives mattered and they could have been saved. we can’t cure depression and we can’t help everyone, but what we can do is spread awareness and talk about mental health more, to make people who suffer from it realize that they’re not alone and that there are options and that there are people who understand and respect them and want the best for them. if you’re suffering from mental health issues, you’re not alone in fighting your battle. please reach out and seek help. you’re loved and you’re important, your life is worth more than you believe at this moment, and good things are ahead of you. let those who love you help you, let professionals help you deal with the heavy burden you’re carrying, let them take away some of it. good luck with your battle, you will surely win with the help of those around you!
