Winds of Fate
I’m suffering from major Aion burnout at the moment, so I’m just gonna take my own sweet time with the new Aion updates. NCsoft has stopped using numbers as an indication of a patch ever since 4.5, so technically this update is simply known by it’s name.
So as the lore follows, Beritra is having a good time and goes overboard with his successful invasion of Atreia (as demonstrated by his Hyperion-like minions).
Yes, your eyes aren’t fooling you; basically Beritra just nuked Sarpan, Tiamaranta, Katalam and Danaria* out of existence.
*since Idian Depths was technically a part of Danaria, it is now gone as well
While the daevas were in despair, the sinking of the Katalam and Danaria continent ironically revealed a new continent called 시그니아, 엔샤르. And thus, it is now a rush to claim the land and prevent Beritra from invading it.
And because some continents are now gone, gone with it are some of the instance dungeons that used to be present in it (Eg. Raksang, Rentus Base etc).
This new area is also reminiscent to the underwater map previously seen in the Aion Vision trailer, there are indeed some submerged areas in the new map. You still can’t swim (great progress as always) but flight via the transporter is shown to be floating in a giant bubble.
P.S - I know people are freaking out but fortunately (and unfortunately), Eternal Bastion will still be around. The entrance will be relocated to Kaldor.
damn, lots of changes. q.q does anyone know if bloodmarks will still be around? since kata and dana are gone now. kinda worried cause i know some people that use them for money and it was my main sourse of ap Q_Q
Winds of Fate - Removed Regions / Instances / Fortresses
As stated here, there will be some regions and instances removed with the Winds of Fate update. The following regions will be permanently removed:
- Sarpan
- Tiamaranta
- Tiamaranta’s Eye
- Katalam
- Danaria
- Idian Depths
With the removal of said regions, the following will take immediate effect;
1) If you previously binded to an obelisk in those locations, your character will be automatically binded to Pandemonium’s / Sanctum’s obelisk
2) Return scrolls to the mentioned areas will retire in usage, any player with stock in their inventory can sell them to the NPCs for a refunded price
3) All related quests, campaigns, dailies and weeklies to those zones will cease to exist
The following instances will also be permanently removed:
- Elementis Forest
- Argent Manor
- Muada’s Trencher
- Satra Treasure Hoard
- Steel Rose Cargo/Deck/Quarters
- Void Cube
- Idgel Research Center
- Danuar Mysticarium
(this includes all solo/group and legion type instances, where applicable)
Some instances previously native to those areas will remain, but have their entrances relocated to a new location. Refer to the screenshots for reference (elyos on the left, asmos on the right).
Some of the instances also underwent changes:
Raksang
- Gone through a name change
- It is now a solo instance
- Level requirement increased to 60+
- Reduced entry count from 5 to 3
Rentus Base
- Level requirement reduced to 57+
- Increased entry count from 2 to 3
- Has a hard mode selection
Danaur Sanctuary
- Level requirement reduced to 63+
- Reduced entry count from 4 to 1
- Has a hard mode selection
Dragon Lord’s Refuge
- Level requirement reduced to 63+
- Reduced entry count from 4 to 1
- Has a hard mode selection
Tiamat Stronghold
- Level requirement reduced to 57+
Ophidan Bridge
- Level requirement reduced to 63+
Aturam Sky Fortress
- Increased entry count from 1 to 3
With the exception of Tiamat Stronghold, these instances also had their strategies for the run changed. Last but not the least, the following fortresses will also be removed:
- Sillus
- Pradeth
- Silona
- Heart of Fissure/Wrath/Gravity/Petrification

Videos are always a good study resource, Pangaea raid done under 10 minutes. It’s really just tank and spank, with cannons and xforms tanking, and 100 people DPS-ing; it’s really hard for you to fail the fight.
At the end of the fight, you’ll get a reward chest and 100 GP.

Aion December Update - Skill / Class Balancing & Revamp
The polls and discussions are done and the player feedback have been heard, these are now the confirmed changes scheduled for December.
1. Skill integration (as well as being buffed up), flight PVP balance & cooldown reduction
- Faction skills will be integrated and buffed up
- Lifting the ban on skills which were previously unusable while flying
- Reducing the general cooldown on skills to make PVP a fast paced experience
2. Class Balancing
These are the direction and focal points of each class they intend to work towards:
Gladiator
- The master of the battleground
- Changing the cooldown on powerful damage skills
Templar
- Greatest presence in the group
- The best defense is also the best offense, defense ability will be buffed up
Ranger
- Skillful strategist in battle
- Reducing skill animations and buffing up on survivability
Assassin
- Equal skills for both faction
- Buffing up on Evasion stat as well as looking into “counter-attacking”
Sorcerer
- Infinite MP
- Better burst DPS sustainability
Spiritmaster
- Better sense of closeness with the spirit summons (pet pathfixing)
- Skills for pets will be integrated and the no. of skills will be reduced
Chanter
- Better buffs for classes that focus on physical attack
- Some of the mantras to be integrated
Cleric
- Powerful DPS from the goddess of the group
- Reduced penalty from healing and dispels
Gunner
- The efficiency of “selective form” skills will be improved
- More dynamic combat style
Aethertech
- Faster combat preparation
- Improving the mount skill
Songweaver
- Reliable support for caster classes (see the branch out between chanters and songweavers?)
- Becoming the hybrid DPS/support class
3. Last but not the least, the stigma system is to be reworked. The following changes are as planned:
- The “useless” greater stigma trees will be fixed (eg. Assassin’s Signet Silence)
- Some stigma skills will have their status to be changed into normal skills
- Reducing the numbers of stigma slots
- Removal of stigma shards
The last screenshot is a sneak peak of some of the skills NCsoft has changed (from the left):
1. Reflects 1 skill from PC
2. AOE Taunt and changes the enemies’ target
3. Tremendous Shield, absolute defense but no other action is allowed while shield is in place (eg. like Hyperion’s shield)
(Credits to iRosy from the NA forums for translating, he’s Korean so some of the translation may not make sense in English)

NCsoft reveals that there will be a major update to Aion in December 2014, and it also wishes to communicate with the playerbase on how it can continuously improve game quality. Seeing that the socketing system revamp was a huge success, it is bringing back the feedback event it held previously.
And their main focus this time? Class balancing.
They are well aware of the fact that the recent (and past) skill balancing / updates, as well as the introduction of new classes (gunner, songweaver, aethertech) may not have been very satisfactory to all the players. This is why they are holding the feedback event on 15 October 2014 (which happens to be tomorrow at the time of this post), whereby players can post their feedback on what they wish to be changed.
As long as it’s reasonable, they will seriously look at it. And hopefully it will enjoy the same success as the socketing system revamp.

I only recently reached 500 followers today, and while I do not usually put much weight on how many followers i gain/lose/whatever I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all who have shown interest in my work and (often inconsistent) blogging.
(I’d throw in a long emotional thank you message that would go on for a few more sentences but as always too awkward and no idea how to write stuff ; ; sorry, thank you to all followers who stayed to read this post!)

I’m a lore junkie so I started piecing together the story from the various fragments the game offers: cinematics, quest text, campaign conversations etc.
It all started with the “Peace Summit” at the Tower, the one that Israphel pushed for and convinced…
I was a Lore Yunkie as well.. (at least till 3.0) and I always tought it was Triniel, Not Israphel the one who “vanish” after the reunion, and Siel saw a quick shadow moving to the balaur lord and then he was dead… Triniel was the Lord of Assasins and one of the group who were against the peace with the balaurs… Of coz, so far I remember… Will be nice to open a forum about this or make an event about the lore of Aion (wich is pretty expensive, pretty awsome)
no like, in this post she was saying that, Israphel vanished while trying to show off that he was helping siel so it made it look like they both gave up their lives to save atreia
