Do you have any resources for anyone looking to make a LISA fangame?
Ingredient to make a LISA fangame:
- A digital copy of Lisa the Painful and/or Lisa the joyful- A functioning (non trial) version of RPGmaker VX Ace- This RPGmaker decryptor- Ideas- A willingness to put in time and effort- An open mind that can take criticism- Playtesters- Clowns (This is not optional, I managed to convince Ed to put clowns in the Pointless and it turned out great. All good fangames need clowns in them.)
Steps to making a LISA fangame:
Step 1: Have Lisa the Painful on your computer.
Step 2: Download and open the decryptor.
Step 3: Press âFileâ and then select âOpen Fileâ.
Step 4: When it opens the file select, go to where your copy of LISA is and click on the game file.
Step 5: After that, just press extract all files.
Step 6: Congratulations, you have now successfully decrypted the gameâs graphics and data. Well done. Letâs put that aside for now.
Step 7: Now its time to open RPGmaker VX Ace.
Step 8: Once you have RPGmaker VX Ace open, make a new project.
Step 9: Save it and close RPGmaker VX Ace. Then go back to the folder where LISA is saved and copy everything.
Step 10: Then paste it into the new projectâs folder.
Step 11: Make sure you keep the Game.exe and Game.ini of the new project, getting rid of the ones originally from LISA.
Step 12: After the copying is complete, go back to the extractor and copy the folders in the âExtractâ folder.
Step 13: Paste it into the new project folder. Some things will be duplicates of whatâs already in there. This time however, make sure you select the ones to keep are from âExtractâ originally.
Step 14: Congratulations, you now have your own decrypted version of LISA to mess around with.
Step 15: Now go to RPGMaker VX Ace and open the new project up.
Step 16: WOAH! NOW YOU CAN MESS AROUND WITH EVERYTHING, AND FROM THERE, CRAFT YOUR OWN LISA FANGAME WITHOUT HAVING TO DO IT FROM SCRATCH! YAAAAAY!
Now you can ruin LISA for everyone, including yourself. Not included in this tutorial is how to actually work RPGmaker VX Ace - thatâs a challenge to figure out for yourself through experimentation, and video tutorials.
The fun things about this recipe is that it can be applied to other encrypted RPGmaker VX Ace games too. Which can be tons of fun, and ideal for repaintings.
I hope this guide was at least somewhat useful.
