Road Trip
He can’t take anymore. He can’t hurt anyone else. It’s a hard choice, but Steven knows that he has to leave Beach City, at least for a little while. There’s only one person who could possibly talk him out of it…

The parking lot of the car wash was quiet right now. Nobody was around to try and talk Steven out of this. The van had been destroyed in the rampage, and Greg was off getting it repaired. When he was on the road, he could give his father a call and explain everything. The man would understand.
Steven looked at the scratches on the Dondai. All he had done was shut the door, and now there were little white lines in the paint. By the time he would be back, there would be marks everywhere, he was sure of it. He looked at his new hands, then at his face in the reflection of the window.
The horns couldn’t be growing, could they? No, that much was in his head. The ugly white points jutted out from his flesh right above his eyebrows. Every time he scowled or cried, he felt their weight first and foremost. The skin around their crystal base of the horns was rubbed raw from the motion of his emotions, healed through his natural ability, and torn again. If it was painful, Steven didn’t register it anymore.
Even the claws didn’t bother him that much right now. He didn’t touch his face as much, didn’t grab or pluck or wash roughly. Everything had to be gentle now, and the tiny scars all over his body reminded him of that. For some reason, the purple patches were the only ones that hurt when he touched them. The splotches on his skin were random but thankfully minimal. The only place where they were a real problem for Steven was over his face. He hated the dark patch that ran from his neck to his eye socket, the roughness of its coverage. No amount of lotion or healing spit could make it diminish. He would grow up with it, he would age with it, and he would die with it.

Garnet gone bananas (future vision + AU Jam-Bomb 3)

A Friday afternoon in the Universe/Maheswaran house. A universe far from the one some call canon, this was a place, and time, where not only did the Maheswarans moved to Beach City and became the only medical practitioner and sheriff of the city, but also lost their house in the Spinel attack, and are now living in a more modified version of the Universe house. It only took them a week to adjust, but things are more normal now than before. It felt like a real home to Steven. A universe where Jasper became a peaceful hermit, living in roses garden and tending to the plants there. Steven would come by and visit her for advice about plants, and often hang out and talk. A universe where Steven and Connie have been dating for 2 years straight, and still going strong. A universe where Steven had just started seeing a Therapist, who happened to be Connie’s mom. Awkward at first, Steven’s now getting used to opening up more, alleviating years of trauma and guilt through means of cognitive behavioral therapy, and crying. A Universe where Connie was taken on as a student of Pearls, as well as a few other people. At least she did before falling into a state of depression and decided to hand out diplomas much earlier than they needed to be handed out. A Universe where Connie, Amethyst, Peridot, and Steven would often sit around the T.V. every Friday evening, and watch a show that nearly mirrors their own, but not by much. They would talk about it afterwards, and try to make sense of what they just saw. This Universe was… unique. But sadly, many had felt as though it was coming to an end. they never try to think about that kind of stuff. Their universe is quite unlike the many others that hover through space and time. And Garnet can definitely see that. Today though, Garnet saw something that unnerved her.
Steven, Connie, and Amethyst decided to play couch potato, on account of a weird virus floating around. Amethyst can’t catch it, and Connie hasn’t been sick since she’s started dating Steven. It was another thing people try not to think about, more-so with her parents avoiding the thought. But then, out of nowhere, Garnet walks into the room with a metal bat, and began destroying the T.V. in a fit of rage. “GAH! WHAT THE HECK, Ameth- I mean GARNET?!” Steven yelled as garnet violently smashes the TV into small chunks. “My dad just bought that, and it’s the 4th TV this month! We’re not made of TV’s!”
Connie gripped Steven tightly, while Amethyst began laughing at the wanton destruction.
As soon as Garnet finished smashing the TV into small chunks, she pulled out a piece of paper and drew a line through an address.
“One down, 20 or so more to go.” Garnet said calmly, putting the piece of paper away. “You’ll thank me later. It’s going to be a rough episode. Might want to call up Jasper to see of she has any incense sticks she can spare”
As she walked out of the house, Steven, Connie and Amethyst stared at the place where his TV used to be. It had taken a while before anyone said anything.
“So… ‘Cards against gem-anity’?” Amethyst asked.
“Yes please.” Steven said flatly.
“I’ll call up Patricia to see if she want’s to come over and play it with us. She needs to brush up on Gem culture.” Connie said, getting off of Steven and pulling out her phone.
“I’ll grab Peridot and Lapis. more the merrier.” Amethyst spoke before leaving the room. “Also getting snacks.”
As Steven went to go grab the multiple card decks, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of dread for the future. Garnet has been a little off since the last few episodes. Was it needless guilt? Does she know that she has nothing to feel bad about, apart from the trauma Steven’s been through. for now.. they’re going to have to wait it out and hope either for the best, or for his family to realize that It’s just a show that took a dumb turn for the worse.

(moar crackfic for the broken souls. Seriously… it’s been rough. I haven’t been feeling the best, lately. i have an important WIP that’s should have been done last saturday, and i’ve been feeling And it seems like the worst I feel, the funnier my writing becomes. Enjoy, and be safe.)
Light had beamed its way into Steven’s room. For an August morning, the temperature in there was already at the mid 80’s and climbing. Steven did not have the best sleep that night. Mostly tossing and turning in his bed. Dreams about Connie no longer being around, no longer being his girlfriend. Most birthdays are days of celebration. Days he was looking forward to. This birthday, on the other hand, was one he did not look forward to; his 18th birthday.

Ah, the ability to jump ahead a year and a quarter in time... I wish we had it back when there were hyper long hiatuses.

Spring Break Adventure (jam-bomb 3: past/future)

Peridot tinkered and fawned over the Dr. Cook grill for the better half of last week, as well as most of this morning. tinkering around with the mound of copper wiring, aluminum foil, a bike pump, a Stack of theoretical astrophysics books that were only partially eaten by Amethyst in hopes of absorbing knowledge to help Peri, a meat thermometer, and finally, the last package of ‘Cookie Cat’ Ice cream. Attempts were made using Lion Lickers, but it only yielded the kind of results that would be right at home with a budget sci-fi horror movie.
But after hours of backbreaking labor, the space and time portal device was complete. It may have looked like nothing more than an old counter top grill that hadn’t been used since Amethyst stepped on it. she may have been made of light, but that wasn’t enough of a reason for anyone to use it. attached to it was an old video game gun controller that was wrapped up in copper wiring. all these things would seem like ordinary junk to the naked eye. To Peridot, it was her Aria of technological prowess. Her Piece de resistance of her intellect, and a spit in the eye of all those theoretical astrophysicists who had laughed at her endeavors.
“Lady, Gentlemen, Gem, and all those in between, BEHOLD MY MAGNIFICENT CHILD!” Peridot exclaimed loudly.
“How many times have Steven and I told you, STOP STEALING BABIES!” Connie scolded Peridot jokingly. “But seriously, what’s that?”
“What’s this? WHAT IS THIS?!” Peridot screamed back in utter shock. “You fool! Can you not recognize your spring break salvation?! The thing that will make this completely normal week into an adventure of a billion infinite lifetimes!”
“If it was infinite lifetimes, isn’t the ‘billion’ part unnecessary?” Steven asked.
“Don’t mess with my funky flow, Steven!” Peridot growled. “But this thing… This magnificent child of technology that I had been in labor for days on end, this can take you to places that only the most insane, sickly mind could ever create.”
“Does that mean we could go to the ‘canon’ dimension and stop that version of myself from doing something stupid?” Steven asked.
“Also, adding onto it, would it be possible to convince that dimensional version of myself to look into either different college’s close by, and/or, take a year off to be with Steven as he goes to therapy?” Connie asked as well. This left Peridot in an awkward situation.

“Are you ready?” Steven asked.
Connie took his hand and smiled. Of course she was ready, but Steven loved hearing her say it.
“Let’s head on home, dear. Goodbye again, everyone!”
Steven and Connie both raised their hands and waved at the chorus of voices that followed them out. David, their youngest, held both his children by the hand and encouraged their voices with his wife waving alongside. Rosie, their oldest, squeezed her wife on one side and Pearl on the other as the triplets yelled their goodbyes from the table with Amethyst. Garnet, Lapis and Peridot waved from the couch with their middle child Kerry, who waved with one hand and held onto their baby with the other. The family tableau flashed one more time before the warp pad activated and lit up their world with blueness.

JAM-BOMB: FUTUR3 IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!
I still have fond memories of that summer of 2014. The first time i watched Steven universe and i saw Connie and Steven try (and quite frankly fail) to fight Lapis Lazuli in “Ocean Gem”.
It has been over six years since then, and SU is nearing its end. and while it brings a bittersweet taste to my mouth, i am glad to have been part of this community. And since this community has been through…. A rough patch to say the least in regards to our favorite couple. we decided to light up everyone’s mood and make another Jam-bomb!
it was a rather odd coincidence for the event to converge with actual airdates of the show, even more since it will be sandwiched between the second to last episode and the four parter of the finale, but we figured out, “we are definitely gonna need some positivity when the bad stuff inevitably happens and the whole fandom is sent to a pit of despair and uncertainty” so, during all the week of march 16th to the 22nd, Jam-bomb: Futur3 will be back!
