JAM-BOMB: FUTUR3  IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!

I still have fond memories of that summer of 2014. The first time i watched Steven universe and i saw Connie and Steven try (and quite frankly fail) to fight Lapis Lazuli in “Ocean Gem”.

It has been  over six years since then, and SU is nearing its end. and while it brings a bittersweet taste to my mouth, i am glad to have been part of this community. And since this community has been through.... A rough patch to say the least in regards to our favorite couple. we decided to light up everyone’s mood and make another Jam-bomb!

it was a rather odd coincidence for the event to converge with actual airdates of the show, even more since it will be sandwiched between the second to last episode and the four parter of the finale, but we figured out, “we are definitely gonna need some positivity when the bad stuff inevitably happens and the whole fandom is sent to a pit of despair and uncertainty” so, during all the week of march 16th to the 22nd, Jam-bomb: Futur3 will be back!

Jam Bomb 2: Day 3 - Children

Typical College stuff

Apparently trying to reconcile that two diamonds having children at the same time is actually hard to write. So instead i settled On a human AU filled with the thing we are afraid more: Homework.

Summary: Steven and Connie reflect over if college is actually worth it.

“Urgh… College can be such a hassle...” Steven groaned into his Girlfriend's bed.

“It usually is like that 99.9 percent of the time.” Connie said as she scribbled some notes into her notebook. “The other 0.1 percent is even worse though.”

“Connie, Do you wanna run away with me and run an apple farm?” He asked half serious. “Cause my assignments this week are from hell.”

“As much as I'd liked to do so, Being President has more rewards in the short term.” She said jokingly. She would always ditch presidency the minute he said that in a totally serious way. “And it shouldn't be that bad, Steven. The astronomy class hasn't gotten into the hardest themes ye-...”

Steven showed her a scroll of all the points that he would have to cover in a 100 page long essay about the sun.

“Oh...” Connie said.

“Yeah… Oh, indeed.” Steven said before plummeting back into the cushy bed beneath him.

“I know that it seems a lot, Steven. But you can do it if you really make an effort.”

“Yeah… You're right…” He said. “The deadline is in two months after all. Maybe by then I can get it done.”

“That's the Steven I love and know!” Connie said with a smile on her face.

“Thanks for the words of encouragement Connie.” He told her.

“Anytime!” She said.

“And what are you doing right now?” The young man asked.

“Well, I'm making some notes for tomorrow's class until I wait for the teacher to mail me the assignment i have for next week's class.” She answered him exactly as her phone ringed, notifying her that the E-mail just arrived. “Speak of the devil, here it is!”

She unlocked her phone to see the email with a bit of confidence.

Until she laid Eyes on the message's contents, that is. As her blood froze instantly as she processed the words she read.

“Connie? Is something wrong?” He asked worried. “You turned pale all of a sudden.”

“Say… Steven?” She said with a wavy voice. “Is the apple farm offer still up?”

“Huh? Why are you asking?” He said confused before she showed him the screen of her device.

The teacher had just told her that he wanted her to do a 250 page long essay about what were the legal consequences of the “Big donut incident” over the entire fast food legislations, with the use of only three sources of information and deliver it  with a deadline 5 days for 70% of her grade.

Steven just stood there stunned, looking at the panicky visage of her girlfriend.

“I’ll ask dad if he knows about abandoned apple orchards we can buy.” He simply said.

“I’ll tell my parents.” She responded. Presidency wasn't worth all the hassle after all.

Jam Bomb 2: Proposal

If she were just asking him to marry her, well, this would have been a lot easier.

Connie sat across the table from Steven, trying to stop her hands from shaking as she imagined all the ways this could possibly go wrong. The little box in her pocket weighed down on her, like an anchor threatening to drag her down into a proverbial sea, and she could barely focus on what Steven was saying.

“...so anyway, that’s what’s going on with the Rubies,” he finished.

He took a sip of his drink (sparkling water in a wine glass) and smiled.

“So, uh, what did you do today?”

Connie swallowed, her eyes drifting over to Ruby and Sapphire at another table. Both turned and grinned, giving her a thumbs up - they weren’t terribly discreet about it, but Steven didn’t seem to notice.

“I, uh, I talked to Garnet about something,” she replied.

Steven bit his lip, and Connie detected a hint of red on his cheeks.

“Look, I’ve been thinking lately,” she continued, “About us, I mean, and… I guess I was wondering… I mean, we’ve been together for a while now, and…”

She trailed off as Steven slowly withdrew the little blue box from his pocket. She blinked, dumbstruck - then, she slowly brought out hers.

“Both of us,” she said flatly.

“Yeah.”

“On the same day.”

“Uh-huh.”

There was a long, awkward silence.

At last, Connie broke, covering her mouth as she began to chuckle. Before long, Steven had joined in - the couple attracted more than a few stares as they laughed at the strange, implausible, entirely predictable scenario they’d found themselves in.

“Okay, this is…” Connie wiped her eyes, the laughter subsiding, “Well, I’ll marry you, that’s probably obvious.”

She wondered if engagement was supposed to be this casual.

“Yeah, same,” nodded Steven, “But…”

“But there’s one other thing I wanted to ask,” said Connie, “A-a-and it’s probably silly, and weird, but I talked to Garnet about it, and…”

She took a deep breath.

“...what if we became like her?” she asked, “Just… be Stevonnie. All the time.”

Steven nodded slowly.

“Because it’s like… this is probably silly, but their existence, to me, is like… like a hug, but more, and it doesn’t go away, and…” she continued, “F-forget I said anything, this is…”

Steven leaned forward, looking her in the eye.

“Connie,” he said, “There’s nothing I’d like more than to be Stevonnie with you.”

“YES!”

There was a loud crash as Sapphire jumped up, her chair falling backwards. She danced around her table, grabbed Ruby, and began to dance with excitement in the middle of the restaurant.

“I knew it, I knew it!” she exclaimed, “I knew it, Ruby!”

Ruby laughed, pulling her wife into a hug. They twirled around, their gems glowing as they began to fuse.

Steven glanced at Connie and smiled.

“I guess they’ve been looking forward to this,” he said.

“Yeah,” nodded Connie, watching Garnet twirl in place, hugging herself and shouting out in joy. Another patron tried to shush her, but the fusion ignored him completely.

Connie grinned slightly giddily and took a sip of her drink.

“And you know what?” she added, “So have I.”

@jam-bomb It’s rough but I finished it! for day 7 I drew our favorites jumping into battle with all new weapons #GiveStevenaNewShield I’ve never participated in an event like this before so thank you, everyone, for being really inspiring!

This is for the @jam-bomb week. I totally forgot to do it so I scribbled these out really quick today ^^; They're pretty messy but I really wanted to upload something Jam Bud related :)

All the days had two prompts to choose from and some of them I couldn't choose so I just combined them (Days 2, 5, and 6 specifically)

Older Steven still looks like young Steven with stubble because that's just how I think he'll age, forever short and child looking but he grew out his facial hair so people would know he's older than he looks.

Also, I have no doubt Steven would wear only the frilliest, sparkliest, gaudiest wedding dress he could find for his wedding, he would accept nothing less!
