Today’s fiasco: ran out of the house for school drop-off and forgot all of Jack’s stuff.

Once we got to school and we realized what happened and I promised to run home and get his stuff. He was fine with it, but then proceeded to tell every grownup he could find including the principal that his parents forgot his backpack & lunch.

Thanks for letting everyone know, little guy.

Last week was Jack’s first day of kindergarten and I may have teared up just a tiny bit when I saw him walk off with his class during the start of the day.

Later that night, I asked him how the day went.

Jack: Good.

Me: Are you excited about going back?

Jack: Yes, mom. But no crying tomorrow, okay?

Me: Oh so you saw that, did you?

Jack: nods his head

There’s something about the nights here. I can pop open a window even on the hottest day and feel a breeze with just a hint of a chill, reminding me that it won’t be long until fall is here again.
