“Dodo bird effect” — all therapies have same efficacy. Reminds me of Mark Solms argument (and Jerome Frank’s) that psychotherapies all share basic elements. This article broadly construes the shared elements under the umbrella of the “alliance.” Then it describes how psychotherapy mimics mother-infant dynamics in both verbal and nonverbal communication. All in all, good evidence that psychoanalysis is the way to go.

Consciousness is neither a spooky mystery nor an illusory belief. It’s a valid and causally efficacious biological reality

Concludes optimistic on the potential for science to “explain” consciousness one day, once we’ve developed the right methods and so on. Pretends the only real debate is between property dualism and reductionism of some type.
