I finally was able to introduce Shawn Cusack to my favorite Sub shop for a pepper steak sub (see pic) Giamela’s Submarine Sandwich in Burbank. Established in 1964 and run by Uncle Eddy Giamela, I have been eating their subs for as long as I can remember. Shawn was equally impressed by the pepper steak with its loads of pickles, onions and tomatoes. Me I get extra pickles as I think these pickles are the perfect complement to this sub. My second favorite is their pastrami sub which I tend to alternate back and forth between the pepper steak. If you find yourself hungry and in the east SFV, I don’t think you can find a better value or sub around. BTW get the large for $10.95 ($1.00 more) it is an amazing value for its size and can feed two easily or one hungry person, like me!! Giamela’s has 3 locations but Burbank is my favorite and feels like the original. Located at 216 W.
