the more i think about this post (cordelia having a unibrow) the more potential i see. sona waxing it before cordelia’s even old enough to understand why, or!!! an older ashamed cordelia after moving to london and meeting the other girls her age, and secretly trying her brother’s razor when she’s in the bathroom. it comes out horrible and botched for her first time
and obvi there’s alastair with his terrible first attempts at dyeing his hair..
just.. the carstairs siblings trying to fit in. cordelia hoping nobody will notice what she’s done but alastair just takes one look at her and Sighs. he takes the razor from her and tries to fix it with his clumsier hands and manages to get it somewhere passable. cordelia helping alastair put the bleach in after the first few patchy dye jobs….. they each think it makes the other look ridiculous but they understand. ohhh they understand what drives the other with the terrible ache in their heart that they cannot explain in words that their sibling will understand how perfect they look without the garish yellow-blond or the lopsided eyebrows
(“i liked it better black, dadash,” she complains.)
(“you resemble a plucked chicken, layla,” he sniffs.)
i like to think after marriage cordelia is more secure with letting it grow back to a degree because james knew her when they were little and obviously hadn’t minded it. james kisses the softer, finer hairs that slowly come back, and cordelia is more and more okay with setting the wax and razors aside for yet another week. same way it’s thomas that finally makes alastair feel safe enough to ditch the blond
this makes me wanna cry
they are perfectly lovable and wanted in their natural bodies. the natural state in which they deserve to exist <33333
