2015 is a special year for the Australian Chamber Orchestra. It's the 40th anniversary of the orchestra itself, and the 25th anniversary of Richard Tognetti as it's Artistic Director. And what better way to celebrate these milestones than scale the highest sail of the Sydney Opera House for a photo opportunity. For those of you who haven't seen the orchestra in action do yourself a favour. They're a dynamic, seriously talented bunch of musicians that take classical music in directions you never thought possible. www.aco.com.au

Tex Perkins for Sydney Festival
I've been lucky enough to have had Sydney Festival as a client for several years now, giving me the opportunity to see and shoot some great live music, theatre, dance, street performance and whatever else the Festival directors have discovered in their globetrotting search for the hottest talent on the planet. If you're in Sydney in January you need to check it out. Most artists have promo shots they provide to the Festival but on rare occasions they need new or more specific images for their shows, which is where I come in.
All round Australian musical legend Tex Perkins (of The Beasts of Bourbon, The Cruel Sea, Tex, Don and Charlie and numerous other outfits) is doing his acclaimed Johnny Cash - Far From Folsom show at the historic Parramatta Gaol. It's a highlight of the Festival to be sure. After a hectic morning of late flights, half a dozen interviews/shoots and inclement weather, I got my 15 minutes with him in a makeshift studio (shots never used) and in the outdoor area where he will be performing.
