Everyone is still talking about that?”, Lip observed with a groan as he watched the other campers running around like ants, whispering about who they thought was behind all this and - most annoyingly - giving every Ghoulie on sight the dirtiest fucking looks he’d ever seen. It was days like this that Lip realized how good of a decision it was to not wear their skull logo, not on his jacket, no on his skin. “It was a prank. You people really need to learn to take a joke,” he added offhandedly, eyes still focused on the frenzied northsiders.

Jane rolled her eyes at him after she heard him. She walked over and sighed "You're right, but it is weird" She sighed and leaned against a tree looking at him. She looked him up and down, smiling. "Fancy a drink?" She asked him, offering a water bottle. Course, it wasn't filled with water but vodka.

“I was wondering if I could use your height to get my jacket out of a tree. One of the other people threw it up there for a laugh, you know, cause im short.” she sighed. She was 5′6 and people still made jokes about her being short. One of the taller bulldogs decided to throw her only jacket up onto a high branch. She noticed that Chic was reasonably tall and thought he may be able to assist her remove it from the tree. Sure, it was warm now and she didn’t need it but she knew at night time, the woods got cold quickly.

Jane looked at him as he took her hand away from her hair, replacing it with his own. She held his gaze and couldn’t help but let out a gasp as his cold hands brushed against her cheek. She gulped and replayed the situation in her head. She knew she shouldn’t do this so she pulled away and sat back. “You’re thinking about getting me another drink” She chuckled, going back to herself. She couldn’t quite get it through her head, she never acted like this. I mean that was mainly cause nobody took an interest in her but still, it was a strange feeling for her to feel so confident around someone.

She watched him carefully as he poured her another drink and she smiled, deciding to sip at this one. She looked at him. “So, Fox, how’s the English assignment doing” She chuckled at the thought of bringing up school work in the current situation they were in.

Fox’s brow raised so high, it could have vanished into his hairline when Jane pulled away. Was he misreading the signals there because he thought they were vibing but it looked like he was the only feeling that. Which was cool because it would be better if he didn’t get too close to someone like this girl. Pulling away and standing upright again, the tall male poured another shot for her as well as one for himself. “Maybe you should open up a shop somewhere and make a killing off of all the desperate people in this town — especially the women wanting to know about their cheating husbands.”

Jane chuckled at the comment but didn't have time to reply because some stranger came over and started babbling at her. She hummed as she continued to drink and nodded occasionally. Although her eyes always ended back on fox who went off to serve someone else. She was annoyed that this stranger had taking her away from Fox, mainly cause he was keeping her company. She got even more annoyed when the stranger started pushing his hand up her thigh. She was about to stop him, but somebody already did it for her. She heard a voice behind her.

Jane caught her breath from the scare and shook her head looking out a chuckle. “It’s okay. I was just..” She couldn’t help but want to tell him, but she couldn’t. She couldn’t tell anyone. “I was just playing with the rocks” She nodded at the pebbles beside her foot. She picked up one and threw it into the water, watching it float and then slowly sink.

“What are you doing down here?” She asked, smiling at him. She was curious, and honestly, in need of company. She gestured for him to sit next to her. “I’ve got about three packets in my bag, they’re supposed to last me all week, but if you want a pack I can give it to you” She smiled.

When the color returned to Jane’s face, Fox felt a little more relaxed but still bordering on the line of cautious. He wondered if the girl realized she wasn’t that great of a liar but it wasn’t his business or place to bring that up or call her out on her bullshit. Instead, Fox sat down on the shoreline, beside her, not even bothering to take off his boots because he wasn’t about that bare feet life. “Sounds super exciting and not at all like you’re having issues? Is rock skipping a real thing people do for fun?”

Though he was being sarcastic, Fox’s expression was kept soft. “It smelt like teen spirit back at the campsite, that I decided to cut out of there for a while. I’m expecting the team building exercises to start soon which is going to suck cause I’m shit at the whole sports thing. Even basket ball which seems impossible cause I’m tall as a fucking redwood but any time I’ve tried to play, someone ends up injured.” He laughed before picking up a rock himself, tossing it into the waters swallowing it up, almost instantly. “Are you like my personal angel or something cause you always got the stuff I need.”

Jane blushed as she realised that fox didn't believe her lie, although she expected it. She smiled at him as he talked and laughed when necessary. "Team stuff, shit". She'd forgotten all about the exercises the teachers wanted them to do. "Three quarters of this school don't know i exist, never mind want to be in a team with me she shrugged"

Janes face went a bit red at the idea of being his personal angel but let her hair cover her face. She chuckled and let out a choked "No I'm just smart" and continued to hide her face, trying not to let it be seen she was blushing.

this was NOT what he had signed up for. it was already debilitating enough that he had to play happy, dysfunctional family with the person who’d abandoned him so early on in his life. of course, chic himself knew his own motive, but this definitely didn’t include camping with a bunch of meddling kids in the woods, especially with the mystery inc - esque teenagers messing with a masked assailant - though all of this was better than staying at home with hal.
