He wasn’t sure if she knew he had heard her but his made a face was a dead give away that he had when his lips pursed together for the moment. “You’re not going to kill anyone are you?” he asked crossing his arms when the swift moment of her kiss came to an end. If it’s one thing he knew best about his wife it’s that she hated things not going according to plan, almost as much as she hated when Christian didn’t clean up the house for her. 

“Yeah mhm,” he nodded with disbelief, “you must not realize that I can smell blood, and I smell it on you. I also smell disinfectant.” he took a few steps into her office and looked around. A small smile appeared on his face thinking about how she even managed to set up an office but it didn’t last long seeing the knives spread neatly along her desk. “Also your stress is making things worse, you already barely sleep or sit down as is. You didn’t even sit down while you were pregnant...So...” he took a seat in a guest chair “I’m not moving from here till you do.”

                  eyebrows     furrowed    together as a sign of her     concentration     at the task before her .  locked away in her home office , with her knives sprawled out before her ;  the sweet sounds of the blades that scrapped against the  whetstone .  a habit she had , when the kids were asleep and her husband nowhere to be in sight .  then again , the nephilim had gotten home late at night , this time around     n o t       drenched in blood of her kill or her own .  a   rarity   all in its own .  stress had been all over her shoulders ,  and a distraction is what she needed .  what the she-beast desired .

‘ i looked and looked at you and i knew, as clearly as i know that i will die, that i loved you more than anything i had ever seen or imagined on earth. ’

that   voice        ──     one that brought     c o m f o r t     to her soul and warmth to her heart breaks all her focus on the sharpening before her .  the motion of  subtle ‘forward’ actions break in mid swipe allowing her green eyes to cast their gaze away from her task towards the entrance of her office at home .   drinking in the visage ,  her features relax at the sense of home that comes out .   how the moonlight from the open window illuminates down on where he stood making him seem taller to her than his already towering height .

❛  you tell me you aren’t an a romantic , babe .  i love you too more than i can explain  .   ❜   she states pushing herself off her chair to head over towards him . the  (  lightly )  clicking of  her heels sound quietly against the wooden floors of their home as her hands reach out  to place her hands on his waist with a smile that barely touches her rosy lips .   ❛  did i wake you up ?   ❜  

He shrugged his shoulder puckering up his face. "I try to be a little romantic every now and then. It keeps things fresh. If I was romantic all the time then you'd be bored." He looked down at her tiny frame, his hands moving from the pockets of his sweats to grab at hers and kiss her cold fingers.

"No," he smiled at her with a small shake of his head. A hand lifted to brush her out grown hair behind her ear and his lips graced her forehead with a tender kiss. "your children needed to be put to bed again for the third time---which I was completely fine with doing amd enjoyed until I realized my wife was missing from my bedside.." He gave her a suspecting look.

Christian knew all too well what Amara was doing so late in the night and like usual it had something to with her toys. "You've sharpened your knives twice today already. They're not going to get any sharper than they already are babe. You need to come to bed now. Why are you even up this late?"

each movement is filled with tenderness as her fingers come to trace along his features. it’s a moment of gentleness that he and their children become witness to. a moment of delicacy in her nature that shines only with her small family. ‘ i miss you in every single way even when your near. seems like i can’t find my fill of you and i never want to. ‘

You've given me so much to live for and I still can't believe that you're mine. I look back at the person i used to be and the man I am now and I still can't believe that those were the same two people. Everyday still feels unreal and I'm so grateful to you for everything. I don't know where I'd be without you today but I'm glad that I'll never know. I love you so much babe that all I can say is thank you.
