I loved the high school theater sketch where Elizabeth Banks (with long multicolored hair) said, “do you think I’m a boy or a girl!” Keenan was like, “probably a boy.” She froze, and he was like, “ok, you’re a girl?” “No! I’m a boy!” And then they kept doing the amazing skit.

Arielle Scarcella just posted a video about “the youngest transgender boy in the world!!!!”

Right off the bat you can tell that the “mom” is a transwoman (which only becomes glaringly obvious when she speaks). Pretty much the entire video is this kid talking about how she doesn’t like dresses and likes to run around instead of doing “girl stuff.” and the parent (sorry i just can’t call this guy a mom) pretty much egging her on.

The entire thing is just gender roles… and honestly it doesn’t seem like Arielle is even down with half this shit. The parent would basically be like “do you like doing fun boy things or boring girl things :)” and the kid would say ? boy things i guess ? and Arielle would be like ….? but is it okay for girls to do “boy things” and the kid would say yes. One comment-er pointed out that the whole thing seems very rehearsed, and I couldn’t agree more:

man i love you arielle but this is awkward and suspicious. “you’re a boy RIGHT?” “you’re transgender RIGHT?” “*recites some ‘its a costume’ line he’s clearly been told to say since it’s adult trans gender rhetoric and not something a kid would come up with* “do you like [makes “girl” things sound boring] or [makes “boy” things sound super fun]?“ the kid sounds like me when i was young. “i like to run around hehehe” like, why does that make the kid a boy? whats up with the heavy gender stereotyping? i don’t know why anyone progressive would find something like this inspiring or good. they’re painting gender to just be “blue” or “pink”. not to mention the parent is fucking trans. huge red flag. this is weird dude. even if it’s just socially transitioning this looks absolutely forced, rehearsed and fake.

And then Arielle posted another comment a bit later:

Joe is only currently transitioning SOCIALLY. His parents are allowing him to be himself, but know that kids can change their feelings etc. Nothing hormone / medically is being done. They’re simply allowing Joe to express himself as he wishes.

If “his” parents were really just allowing her to be herself, they wouldn’t be telling her that she’s a boy just because she doesn’t like to be restrained by femininity! Do they really think that telling this child over and over that liking “boy things” means she’s a boy is giving her room to “change her feelings”? Fuck no! They’re ultimately grooming her into a belief system that will most likely ultimately lead to her hating her body and taking dangerous hormones and getting unnecessary, irreversible surgeries, all for the sake of furthering their own delusions and their political agenda.

I’m feeling so angry and honestly a little hopeless right now. It’s fucking awful that people think it’s a-okay to use literal children as props like this.

Honestly I feel bad for you because you're in your 30's and still making fanart. Is this all your art is ever going to be? It's pretty sad to think about. It might be cool if you were 19 and discovering this amazing talent, your first works being playful stuff, but at your age it's a demonstration is how to ruin your life. You've gone nowhere with your incredible skill except to copy photos of hot people. It's so pathetic I feel embarrassed for you and would probably shoot myself if I were you.
