Magic Online is only available for Windows, but some Mac users have found success in using Magic Online in Windows on their Mac computers through software such as Parallels or VMWare Fusion.

These days, we know way more about the backstories of individual planeswalkers than we did when the card type was first introduced. Should we expect to learn the home planes of the old guard 'walkers, like Jace, Liliana, Chandra, Garruk and Elspeth, at some point in the future?

I attended a small standard tourney last night at an LGS with my wife. We unfortunately left after the second round because of the hostilities she was experiencing because of her gender. Do you find on your end you hear much regarding the issues of non-male treatment in Magic? Do you feel it's improving?

Let me use this question to say something I’ve been wanting to say.

Every time you are unkind to another Magic player, be it in a game, online or through whatever interaction, regardless of your reason, you are hurting the game, you are hurting the community, you are hurting the store you play in, you are hurting the place you gather - most of all, you are hurting other people.  

One of the reasons I love the Magic community is because of the kindness they show one another. Don’t be the person that makes Magic something ugly for someone. You love how the Magic community has opened up for you and made you feel welcome. Well, pass that along. 

Just imagine that every interaction you have with someone new is the interaction you would have wanted when you were new. A lot of people are attracted to gaming because it is somewhere they feel welcome when there are many other places they do not. Please, please, please do not take that away from people.

Be an ambassador of the game.

Be someone who makes others’ lives better rather than worse.

Be the better person.

Would you guys ever do a supplemental set that "mattered" to the storyline of the standard legal expansions? Say a supplemental set that showed what the phyrexians have been up to while we've been away. Even if it was just told through the flavor of the cards.

Jank Modern Brews - Boros Pro Red Blasphemous Act

From the moment I saw Kor Firewalker I wanted to build this deck. Protection from red creatures and red mass damage spells. Once Blasphemous Act was printed, this deck got super great with a combo finish with the Spitemare / Stuff Doll addition. I'd love to add Boros Reckoner once the price drops, because that card is way too expensive while it is in Standard. Anger of the Gods probably also makes a good addition.

Creature based combo decks get really angry when you pyroclasm away their board multiple times. The deck is cute but wins. The lifegain off Kor Firewalker helps a lot. 

Best part is the online metagame is skewed towards mono-red, which this deck just crushes. They usually just concede to the first creature you cast.

Honestly, needs some tweaking and additions, but a super fun deck to play.

Nivix Spirit Suicide

Or how to build a glass cannon. Or how to lose friends and win matches.

This basically tries to abuse decks that don't run Geth's Verdict.

The goal is similar to lots of Glass Cannons: mulligan to a hand that can win on turn 2 or 3 (sometimes 4).

I've even considered shelling out for lotus petals to make it faster.

Best hand I've had is:

1)Mountain, 2)Simian Spirit Guide, 3)Kiln Fiend, 4)Mountain, 5)Lava Dart, 6)Assault Strobe 7)Any free spell (Gitaxian Probe, Mutagenic Growth, Thunderclap)

Turn one is Mountain, Exlie Guide, Kiln Fiend.

Turn 2 is Mountain, Assault Strobe (Kiln Fiend Power=4), Free Spell (git Probe) (KFP=7), Lava Dart to kill blocker (KFP=10), Lava Dart flashback to kill other blocker or 2 power blocker (KFP=13), Kiln Fiend attacks for 26.

Just ridiculous. Of course, if they take care of the kiln fiend, you're drawing into one of 10 outs, and even then, you might lose before that. Or they might have more removal.

MonoBlack discard + untargeted removal is the worst.

This deck isn't really that much fun to play or play against I'm guessing. More of a horrible thought experiment.

Pauper WU Flicker Deck

Okay, so this deck is a janky collection of flicker effects plus enter the battlefield creatures. Credit where credit is due, I built this after reading/watching Caleb Durward abuse this in Modern with Akroma. Of course, Akroma isn't a common, so I had to go elsewhere.

Originally I built this with all the morph creatures with great "whenever this is flipped face up" effects. That was a mistake, as flicker doesn't trigger those (oops). So, that deck was amusing for exactly one minute.

This deck, on the other hand, actually can work really well. Like any deck requiring drawing equal amounts of creatures & enabling spells & lands, it can totally fizzle if the ratio is wrong.

Cloudshifting an evoked Muldrifter on Turn 4 feels so good. Wormfang Drake is an amazing card too. Stonehorn can lock up aggressive decks. 

This deck needs some work/cuts and does have that annoying problem with creatures/spells/lands that a lot of decks have. But still, fun times.

Journey Into Nyx Pauper Highlights

Wow. Got all the cards now. 

Armament of Nyx: Double-strike OR no damage? Sure, maybe?

Lagonna-Band Trailblazer. The Heroic deck gets a new friend. Almost comes out flame-slash proof. Centaur tribal?

Mortal Obstinacy. I guess this might go in the Hexproof deck for the mirror?

Oppressive Rays: 1 mana journey to nowhere (kind of).

Oreskos Swiftclaw: WW maybe?

Aerial formation: Very doubtful, but maybe there is a home.

Font (of Fortunes): I mean, I don't see any enchantment entering the battlefield effects at common. But, this is almost better than think twice. Kind of. Not really.

Hubris: Anti-hexproof. Oh wait, it says target creature. Damn. 

Thassa's Devourer: Okay, Mill in pauper is fringe. This plus the font? Needs ramp or survival somehow? So weird. I will try and make a jank deck that will make this work. It will not run Delver of Secrets.

Bloodcrazed Hoplite: I mean, maybe this would be cool. Black has a ton of space that is currently being ruined by Gray Merchant. Could be fun to build around.

Cruel Feeding: Could be cool? Lifelink could be useful.

Feast of Dreams: Again, if this just said destroy creature enchanted by target enchantment it would get rid of stupid Hexproof deck. Still, this may be okay, at least in Standard Pauper. Doubtful about pauper.

Grim Guardian: Okay maybe there is a constellation deck. Ignore previous comment under Font of Fortunes.

Returned Reveler: Yeah, mill might be a thing. Also dredge enabler. As if it needed more.

Gluttonous Cyclops: Monstrous dude. Fails flame slash test. Not sure if red needs/wants this.

Rouse the Mob: Not sure if Cyclops/Fiend needs this. Or if anything needs this. The trample might make it good enough.

Sigiled Skink: I've learned not to underestimate scry.

Desecration Plague: I'm not sure the land death deck needs this. but it does add some more flexibility.

Humbler of Mortals: 5/5 everybody gets trample? Okay maybe.

Oakheart Dryads: Again, maybe constellation will be a thing?

Pheres-Band Thunderhoof: Okay, maybe the Centaur heroic deck is a thing.

Satyr Grovedancer: My imagination is wild, but maybe not this wild.

What? no commons artifacts or multicolored cards? What?

Will any of these actually make a dent in pauper? I think the already previewed cards might, but probably not many of these.

Pauper Soul Guard 

Okay, I'm trying for a longer write-up on this. Bear with me (sadly this deck has no bears). The basic idea of this deck is to smash Soul Sisters together with the Midnight Guard - Presence of Gond combo. Kind of inspired by Tempo-Twin or Tarmo-Twin in Modern where the other creatures keep you alive and if they tap out, the combo can just win (a turn later).

4 Suture Priest

(Columns 1 & 2): Backbone of the deck. Great starts, the life helps a lot against aggro, etc. Suture Priest is super key against other creature decks as it damages them.

4 Doomed Traveler

(Column 3): Just Value. And a flying blocker once it dies. Usually good for 2-4 life each as well.

4 Journey to Nowhere

4 Oblivion Ring

(Column 4): Best white removal.

4 Midnight Guard

4 Presence of Gond

(Column 5): Put Presence on Guard and create infinite creatures. With a single Soul Sister, gain infinite life. I usually create enough to block everything and attack for the win. Most people just concede even though this isn't the insta-win that Splinter Twin is in Modern.

3 Saltskitter

(Column 6): What a cute little card. Pauper Norin the Wary. Actually tough enough and a key blocker sometimes. Crazy combo with Soul Sisters. Be careful when you want to attack with it and then cast a creature in second main, etc.

Bring in against flyer heavy decks. 

4 Obsidian Acolyte

Bring in against Mono-black. Don't play unless you have plenty of little creatures as protection from edict effects and a few free mana to save some other creatures from Crypt Rats. 

4 Revoke Existence

Bring in against anything with annoying artifacts or enchantments.

For sideboarding, I usually take out the combo or cut some Soul Sisters or cut a Saltskitter or two. 

Anyway, I've been playing this and winning my fair share. People are sometimes angry. The lifegain or the combo can both anger other players, but that's the game.

Nivix Spirit 

After watching Travis Woo and Michael Hetrick add Simian Spirit Guide to Living End to make it faster, I thought it would be worth a try to add it to the pauper Nivix Cyclops / Kiln Fiend / Instants & Sorceries deck to make it faster. It works. Faster kills. Less resilient, but if you want a deck that wins quickly before most decks can mount a defense, that's what this is good at. 

Also, being tapped out, opponent tries to kill your Cyclops, you exile Spirit Guide and cast an Apostle's Blessing is a great trick.

Updating the Jank Dragon Pauper Deck

Okay, removed some bad cards from the deck, replaced it with some experimental cards. No idea if better/worse yet. Also, thanks to WOTC for Satyr Wayfinder. I think this version is even more of a dredge deck than before, which is fine. Added Faerie Macabre in the sideboard for mirror/other graveyard decks, thanks to a thread on http://reddit.com/r/pauper
