The gate for Hakone shrine is built on the lake Ashinoko waterfront, it was a little foggy but still great to see.

Photos from around the Hamarikyu Gardens in Central Tokyo

The gardens were owned by a feudal lord during the Edo period. They remain as one of the most attractive Japanese gardens in Tokyo.

There is a yearly (very unofficial) event in Tokyo called 'Halloween Train' where a lot of foreigners get dressed up and drink and party in a few carriages of the Tokyo central loop line (Yamanote) ... I guess the authorities noticed! Haha

Tokyo bay has a tunnel underneath it which for some reason(?) pops out of the water about half way along into a giant floating service station.

The Oeshiki festival is on next week. Its a really beautiful festival with long processions of lanterns and illuminated floats decorated with paper cherry blossoms.

The largest of these festivals is on the 12th near Ikegami station and regularly sees 200,000 or more people attending. I recommend going if you have the chance. This years guide has been uploaded here oeshiki festival
