"Berta didn't die, she multiplied!" is the chant here at the DNC in Philly, outside of City Hall where activists are calling for justice for Berta Caceres. Berta was one of the founders and leaders of the Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras (COPINH). Berta was assasdinated by the the illegal coup government in Honduras: the coup government was / is supported by President Obama and then Sec of State, Hillary Clinton. #JusticeForBerta #USoutOfHunduras (at City Hall Dillworth Plaza)

I haven't been instagramming lately because wi fi access on the last week of tour was sparce and I was just enjoying myself in real time, then the cops got caught murdering more black lives and I didn't feel like sharing my joy or adventures at all. Just got home a couple days ago and have been feeling a type of social / political / analytical paralysis. My usual anger and urge for dialogue have been replaced with a numb burned out feeling that I'm not used to. I've mostly been sharing the updates of black and brown comrades on Facebook, trying to listen, and support. I don't have the answers but I do know that we need to video these cops anytime we see them stopping anyone, especially black and brown folks, and that white comrades need to do more than talk. It's time to listen and learn, but also to support with our physical presence and take risks. Also "Blues Lives Matter" is as problematic to me as "All Lives Matter." The police are the ones toturing, imprisoning, and killing people left and right. It's not the same. And although I don't celebrate cops getting killed, I don't have time or spiritual energy to mourn them either.
