Storm caused a power out, so I’m painting by candle light.

I had a lot of trouble scanning my last watercolor

The colors were very bright and washed out. I tweaked it a little with Photoshop, which helped, but it’s still not doing it’s real life counterpart justice.

Anybody have any advice for scanning/documenting watercolor?

My present for my Dad for Father’s Day! His favorite bird is the red-winged blackbird, and he loves poetry. So I made him this!

I’m not the best poet, but this was fun to make! Basically this haiku is in reference to a conversation my Dad and I had were we talked about how many people mistake red-winged blackbirds for crows, and then they never notice their beautiful colored wing.

I’ve been having a lot of fun with dip pens and watercolor lately! Here’s an illustration of one of my favorite scenes from My Hero Academia!

Another fantastical landscape concept! I would have liked to add more vibrant and saturated colors to the piece, but the sketch served its purpose and I really need to get started on the finished piece.

The really bright version was an experiment I tried with some highlighters. I enjoyed how it was coming out actually, but I was less experienced with the medium and I ran out of blue highlighter, so I decided to return to watercolor for a more finalized version.
