Learning more. Not sure on total time.
Did 30 mins of “coding” / setup node/webpack.
A bit difficult day since Arnold and Maya are not working right so this will ave to do.
Frankly mostly following a tutorial.
30 minutes for code and less for the render :(
Installed redux + react server too.
Today wasn’t a great day in terms of code.
Learned a little of maya + octane + arnold.
Using react + redux

30 mins art + 30 mins code
About 30 minutes on each side (art + eng).
Using react without jsx.
https://jasonify.github.io/DailyProjects/0003/
A simple ink sketch with some basic node code / website.
I spent at least 60 minutes on the code side. Less then 2 hours.
Sketching side about 30 minutes, but not 100% sure.
It takes ideas and displays them using: #node, #express, #mongoose
Mostly feel pretty happy because it was done so late #tired.

Starting up the Daily Projects again.
I feel like longer projects are good to have too but my main focus should be daily projects since I have the most fun doing these + they really push me.
https://jasonify.github.io/DailyProjects/0001/
Very similar to last 180 Daily Projects but this time no set timeline
Have Fun & Fail Often
Big thing = to push self and fail... experiment with new tech.
Go outide comfort zone
** Hybrid of art + engineering
** Start to finish but can be incremental for code side (reuse code or be small feature that is part of an app)
** Get inspired by looking at book collection + favorite sites ** Publish online
** 30 mins art + 30 mins code ** aim for 3hrs++ a day. Ideally a lot more on weekends. ** should balance itself if one day is heavy on art, do next day heavy on code
Slight Change of Plans
I’ve received feedback that what I am weaker on is not really ability to do mini projects on a daily basis but more the ability to take on larger more complex personal projects and “finished / launch them”. Since i’ve already been doing daily art / design stuff for a while now and that seems to work, I am going to keep that going. If it’s a 5 minute or 5hr sketch, it will count as my daily entry.
For my code, I think I am going to try to go for 1 week minimum but ideally longer. Maybe with a 1 month deadline for some online “soft launch” / deliverable to have a sense of urgency.
My aim will be to still report back here and note:
1) What I did for the day, did i feel good or bad ? Good progress
2) Time ~estimate
I will aim to spend at least 30 minutes a day but hopefully on average 1hr++
So picking up old projects is totally valid and okay.
I will be submitting to the 1PPM github repo :)

Day 10
Today just a simple arctan2 in JS with drawing a mini ship in the middle.
Some photography basic editing. All very basic.
This is both for #9 entry of daily 180 project (the frontend part) and the node.js entry which is very simple.
I also took a photo and edited for the art part.
Was a bit more work than I thought to setup a basic react / node app with babel / webpack. It is not optimal using the react-create-app helper repo by facebook. Will ned to remember that the clientside code inside a different folder and it needs to be npm run build.
Did the one hour game challenge. Used / learned some p5.js

One Pet Project Per Month
In order to try to do more longer term projects I am doing something along the lines of: 1ppm
The bulk of the work will be done on weekends.
I am calling it Pet Project “Cycles”:
Alternate 3 Months with:
Month #1 A project a weekend.
Month #2 A project spanning two weekends.
Month #3 A project spanning 4 weekends. Start over and Repeat Cycle.
TARGETS:
I will
- tracker hours & aim for 16-20hrs per monthly project
- Must share on GITHUB / (jasonify) Twitter / Instagram / Blog / etc
Will still do daily mini projects. These projects are for weekends to expand and take on bigger challenges with longer deadlines.

Did some very basic sine. Didn’t learn as much on the code side. Need to focus on it more and work on it more. Also pretty dirty code.
Project 106. Setup a basic bug. Playing with angle speed.
https://jasonify.github.io/180-Projects/005/
A pretty short day. Mostly just doing some basic canvas overlay. Found that there is a bug if you don’t add “beginPath” before drawing an arc.
“Beer” Day #4
Today just a little basic physics in JS, using simple vector class.
https://jasonify.github.io/180-Projects/004/
https://jasonify.github.io/180-Projects/003
A simple 3D rendering with the option to change background color.
