Bug Brawl Bracket

Quick reminder of the rules:

This bracket is about bugs. Don't follow if you aren't comfortable seeing pictures of bugs.

All bugs are friends. I know some of you may not like some of them, and some may even be harmful to humans, but they are still valuable members of their ecosystem. I don't want to see any bug hate. (Including towards fictional characters, but primarily towards actual species.)

The "Eastern Conference" is made up of fictional characters while the "Western Conference" consists of real species. (For this reason, only the Western Conference polls will have the entomology tag.)

Propaganda is welcome, but I will only post it here if it's sent in ask form. (IE I won't reblog propaganda in the notes)

TEMP PROPAGANDA: he's such a silly little guy! Also what I can't stress enough is that his love for Boots borders on reverence and is entirely mutual. (She's the only human who can tell the cockroaches apart) Like look at this dialogue from when he first introduces himself:

"Boots singled out one roach in particular and patted it between the antennas. “Hi, you! Go ride? We go ride?” “Knows me, the princess, knows me?” said the roach in awe, and all the other roaches gave little gasps. Even the humans and bats exchanged looks of surprise. “We go ride? More ride?” said Boots. “Beeg Bug take Boots ride!” she said, patting him more vigorously on the head. “Gentle, Boots,” said Gregor, hurrying to catch her hand. He placed it softly on the bug’s head. “Be gentle, like with puppy dogs.” “Oh, gen-tle, gen-tle,” said Boots, lightly bouncing her palm on the roach. It quivered with joy. “Knows me, the princess, knows me?” the roach whispered. “Recalls she the ride, does she?” Gregor peered closely at the roach. “Oh, are you the one who carried her to the stadium?” he asked. The roach nodded in assent. “I be Temp, I be,” he said. Now Gregor knew what all the fuss was about. To his eyes, Temp looked exactly like the other twenty roaches sitting around. How on Earth could Boots have picked him out of the crowd?"

Also survival instincts yes but he's also just really fuckin smart. In the third book, he's the one who (SPOILERS) figures out that the plant they were sent on a quest to collect wasn't actually the cure to the plague and that they were being tricked. Half the Underland would be dead if it weren't for him and he doesn't get enough credit.

The loving found family dad of your dreams, only he's a giant cockroach! He really just looked at this whole-ass human toddler, asked "is anyone gonna give her a piggy-back ride", and didn't wait for an answer. Calls her "the princess".

Everyone's so mean to him bc his English isn't very good so they think he's stupid but ngl he's more often than not the only person in the room with common sense, and his survival instincts come in clutch. Honestly we all need a Temp in our lives.

Cloth is a cicada and she is the best because she's DOING her best!! Having ventured into the ruins of Hallownest to prove her courage as a warrior, she mostly spends her time hiding from danger rather than facing it -- but don't we all struggle sometimes? Plus, she eventually defeats her fear to help the player character defeat a mighty foe. She's one of the few bugs you meet in Hallownest who aren't trying to kill you. She's a sweetheart and everyone should vote for her to boost her confidence
