God I hate the club
Just a little dodging game where you can jump your car from one side to the other, inspiration was from the last scene of the Speed Racer movie.
Had MetalGear in mind when I made this one, just with a bit less sneak, and the main character being a humanoid robot.
Little skateboard arcade game. Took around 5 iterations before I finally landed on this one. Simple goal, hit 50mph before the end, obstacles slow you down.
Another one done. This one is based off Space Harrier. Long story short, you're sent back in time from an explosion at a dinosaur research facility. Robot dino's get sent back too.
Another little arcade game done. Starfox on snes had a bit of influence here, except I decided the mouse would be more intuitive with controls than just using the keyboard. Also got a better fake TV screen filter going on, though it may not be that noticeable in the smaller vid.
Been awhile since I made a post, kind of fell off the gamedev wagon for a bit, but Im back on now. Almost all done with this game, just have to make a boss room, fix up a few things, and that’s it, then onto the next one. Definitely going to stick with making 2d arcades games for the next little while, making all these new systems and models for a game that lasts a few minutes just seems like such a waste to me.
Working on one of the arcade games as being similar in style to ff7 with the pre-rendered backgrounds. Going to have to learn a few new things to get it working properly like culling masks. Also want the battle scenes to be inside the same level for seamless transition, but we’ll see how that’ll go. Like most of my Arcade games that I’ve made, this won’t really be any longer than 5, maybe 10 minutes. Just a few floors and a boss at the top.
Sry it's been awhile since I posted anything, laptop power supply died and I had a hell of a time getting another, but now it's back to work. Working on little animations of the arcade screen
Worked on the electrician today, gave him a fixing animation. Also decided to have him fix the arcades that you specifically want repaired, and each time you do, he charges you money. Before I just had him slowly drain money from you every 2 seconds whether he was fixing the machines or not, so it’s a bit more micromanaging on the players part, but it makes more sense.
Working adding changeable colors and textures for the walls/floors. Also since the window will be taking up the entire screen, I added in a little preview window so you can see what it looks like right away.
Finished up the Intro for the game!
Got the visuals for the layout just about done. I had a blueprints type of idea in mind, and it turned out fairly consistent with my idea.
Here’s what the billing page looks like, I put in all the information I think would be relevant to the player knowing. I have it so 5 min of irl time = 1 month of game time, but that game time pauses whenever you enter your personal recroom, or when you enter one of the arcade games that you can play. You’ll need to pay the bill at the end of each month, and if you’re late paying the bills by the third month, the game ends.
A few variations of textures for the female customer.
A few more models of assorted objects that you can place down. It may be odd that you have portable bathrooms in an arcade store, but at the same time I like that it gives you more control over what you want and where you want to place them. Going to work on some of the customer variations next
