Too engrossed in her work to really pay attention to her surroundings, Chloe tapped her pencil against the blank page of her notebook, with her laptop and chai latte strategically placed within reach on the table. She had already scribbled down a few equations and calculations onto her notepad when she felt someoneâs presence nearby. Looking up from her work to address the other person, the young researcher spoke. âMusculoskeletal mechanobiology and tissue mechanics. Not exactly the most interesting thing to observe while looking over someone elseâs shoulder as they work, unfortunately,â she joked lightly.
Jason was heavily on his phone that day. And not even because he liked it per se: he was hardly technology-savvy. But they ended up changing some shifts for the third time that day, sending email after email, and now they were scheduling a meeting he needed to attend, so the paramedic was constantly refreshing his email. He was on his way out of the coffee shop, completely engrossed into reading his emails and stopping mid-way for a few moments to type something out, when he realized a woman was addressing him. It took him a few seconds to realize what she meant. ââOh I wasnât--ââ He started off, but he knew that she was not likely to believe him. He was standing behind her for probably a minute or two now. ââYeah, that looked bad, sorry for hovering.ââ
