Hello I am L, also known as Mobiusims,

Welcome to The Simply Scented Legacy, where each generation is defined by a distinct scent and color, shaping the unique life path and goals for every heir in your family. This challenge is designed for players who enjoy structured rules and long-term goals while focusing on storytelling and creativity. To advance to the next generation, you must complete all required goals for your current generation. Failing to do so or cheating (outside of glitches) results in the failure of the entire challenge! DISCLAIMER: This challenge is pack heavy, and I apologize for that!

General Rules:

No cheating (except for glitches).

Start with a single founder; every heir must adhere to the color and scent themes.

Heirs can be any gender.

Each generation has specific goals that must be completed before moving on to the next.

Traits and aspirations for each heir must follow what each generation uses

Play on any lifespan, but aging must remain on.

Each generation must fully master the career or skill(s)from their generation.

Generation 1: Vanilla Scented

I have four muffin tips for making bakery style muffins at home.

Tip number one:

Rest your batter for 15 minutes in your mixing bowl after you make it. This is gonna allow the starch molecules to swell and absorb, creating the thicker batter and the thicker batter is known for doming!

Tip number two:

Fill your muffin holes with at least six to eight tablespoons of batter. That’s like a heaping half cup okay. You want them super full so they’re gonna create that dome.

Tip number three:

Kinda goes along with tip number two. You’re only gonna fill every other hole in your muffin pan. And why we do that - that’s so the muffins that are baking can spread and dome without running into their neighbors. Because when they run into their neighbors they get like square edges but we want perfect dome circles.

Tip number four:

You’re to bake your muffins at a high temperature initially. That’s gonna be 425*F for the first seven minutes. And then keep them in the oven and lower the temperature to 350*F for the remaining bake time. Starting the muffins off at a high temperature initially allows the muffins to rise rapidly and it sets the outer surface of the muffin, producing a dome shape.

Boutique Hotel Mod

This mod introduces Boutique Hotels as a new venue type to elevate your sims’ vacations!

The mod is all about the vacation and guest experience for your sims, and it uses the existing vacation rental system. It’s not for owning or running a hotel. 

The Boutique Hotel is a new buildable lot type that functions like both a vacation rental and a community lot. The hotel’s daily booking price is automatically calculated based on the value of the build. 

Up to 8 different households can vacation on the same lot at the same time! Random npc guests and employees will also spawn throughout the day.

While staying at a boutique hotel, sims will generally be less tense, sad, angry, bored, or uncomfortable. Their fun and social bar will fill up slightly faster, and they’ll gain a slight skill boost to photography, wellness, and romance skills. They’ll also get a bit more satisfaction points for achieved wants/whims. 

Custom whim set: Take a photo, Have a drink, Go swimming (randomized)

Custom buff: Beautiful Vacation (+4 happy boost for 24hrs)

Base-game friendly but has extra features with certain DLC

Front Desk Computer (Get To Work Required) 

Spawns an NPC receptionist who’ll pretend to use the computer and answer phone calls all day. This is mostly for visual storytelling and doesn’t have a gameplay function. If not on a Boutique Hotel, the computer pretty much functions like a regular computer, minus some superfluous features. Unlike a regular computer, it can be freely placed anywhere for decorative purposes. To function, it must be placed centred on a desk (with a desk chair) or an island counter (with a bar stool). 

Room Phone

Order a meal instantly to sim inventory. The menu changes in certain worlds. You can order sushi in Mt. Komorebi, pasta in Tartosa, arepas in Selvadorada etc…

Order vacation purchases instantly to sim inventory. I curated items different from the default EA version.

Call a Taxi (Travel)

Miscellaneous vacation functions

Room Service Plate

Order a meal instantly to the built-in refrigerated inventory (same dynamic menu as room phone.) You can also use it to store food if there’s no fridge nearby. Uses the same tuning as the room phone, so don't delete that file.

NPC Employees

Hotel staff will spawn depending on the presence of certain optional objects. If these items aren't on the lot, the employees won't spawn.

Bar: Up to 2 bartenders

Massage Table:  Up to 2 massage therapists

Disclaimer: While other Sanrio Legacy Challenges do exist (I found at least two when I did a quick search online), I made sure to take zero inspiration from them. These rules were entirely written and revised by me. That being said, I do not claim to be the first person to have come up with this idea. All images/logos used for banners were sourced from Google and belong to Sanrio (aside from the Sims logo which of course belongs to EA). All banners were made with the free online Canva presets.

✧ Generation 1: Hello Kitty 🍎

You're a humble girl from the suburbs of a big city and love the simple things in life. For you, nothing is better than a batch of freshly baked cookies and homemade apple pie! Your loved ones describe you as kind, friendly, and optimistic. Having just moved to a new neighborhood, you're most looking forward to making friends and running your very own food stall to sell all of your delicious baked goods. In your free time you love to play the piano and write poetry. While you're happy enough to be surrounded by your many friends, you secretly hope to start a family sooner rather than later so that you can share your love for baking with your children.

Traits: Childish, Generous, Cat Lover Aspiration: Neighborhood Confidante Career: Food Stall (sell baked goods) Skills: baking, piano Colors: red, dark blue, yellow

Goals:

Move into a starter home and use your remaining funds to purchase a food stall. If you don't have enough money left over from your move, save up until you can afford one.

Your primary source of money should be your food stall, but you can also earn simoleons through odd jobs as a way of helping out the neighborhood. (If you live in Henford-on-Bagley, you can also run errands for the townsfolk).

Always have at least one cat in the household. Become companions with each of them.

Make and maintain good friendships with at least 5 sims.

Marry your best friend and start a family as a young adult.

Have 2 children close in age and then one more later in life.

Bake with your children on the weekends and mentor their piano skill at least once a week.

Optional Goals:

Publish at least one poetry book.

Complete the postcards collection.

Develop the People Person lifestyle.

✧ Generation 2: My Melody 🌷

Having been raised by loving parents in a community of seemingly endless aunties and uncles that doted on you has shaped you into the sweetheart that you are today. As a child you adored baking time with your mother, your favorite dessert being almond macaroons! Growing up with piano lessons has left you with a deep appreciation for music, and you spend most of your time knitting while listening to your favorite songs. Above all else though is your love for flowers, and you hope to one day have a beautifully fragrant garden filled with blooms. Although romantic love does not come naturally to you, you still strive to have a happy marriage just like your parents someday.

✧ Generation 3: Cinnamoroll ☕

You're just a sweet boy with a little social anxiety, but that never stopped you from smiling! From a young age you developed a love for dancing, but only in the privacy of your own room. As a teen you start working part-time at a local cafe and instantly fall in love with the combination of coffee with pastries. You continue working there into your young adulthood until you and your high school sweetheart discover a baby is on the way! Once your child is born you decide to stay home to raise the kids while your newly wedded spouse goes back to work. You fill your household with children and take pictures of all their milestones. Your secret to a happy life is indulging in a good nap whenever you have the chance.

Traits: Socially Awkward, Dance Machine, Family-Oriented Aspiration: Big Happy Family Career: Barista / Stay-at-Home Parent Skills: parenting, dancing, photography Colors: light blue, light brown, white

Goals:

Dance only when you're alone and promptly stop whenever someone else enters the room.

Get a part-time Barista job as a teen and keep it into young adulthood. Quit once your first child is born.

Get pregnant with your high school sweetheart and marry them during the pregnancy.

Have twins and a total of 5 children (you may cheat to have twins if necessary). Decorate your home with pictures of your children.

Develop the Cheerful trait through gameplay.

Have a special area in your home that's dedicated to your love for coffee. Drink coffee daily.

You and your twin have been inseparable since the moment you were born (and even before that, if you think about it!). Growing up in a big family means you love the company of others, and as twins you decide to never live apart. You're a package deal! While you may have different hobbies and interests you share a talent for creativity. You're also both nocturnal homebodies and prefer to work freelance jobs where you can make your own schedules. Even when you start your own little family your twin stays by your side, going so far as to adopt a child themself so that your kid can have a best friend too.

Have a designated crafts room.

Have only one child with your boyfriend/girlfriend. Break-up after the baby is born.

Sometimes life becomes a little too much for you, but you know that there is always a rainbow after every storm. With a love for accessorizing and a deep sense of empathy from a young age, your dream is to craft and sell your very own crystal creations as sustainably as possible. You hope to one day live in a modest and eco-friendly home near the ocean, but until then you make do with the occasional beach vacation to lift your spirits.

If you learned one thing from your mother, it was that accessories make the outfit! You're a fashionable lad with a golden retriever attitude and you love to make new friends wherever you go. Although you may be a little lazy, you love to travel and go out for drinks with pals. You always bring a case of your homemade fizzy juice for everyone at the shindig to enjoy! Whenever you aren't setting the latest trends, you're out bowling and being the life of the party. Your signature look is a beret hat that you love to wear for any occasion.

Traits: Lazy, Outgoing, Party Animal Aspiration: Friend of the World Career: Stylist (Trend Setter branch) Skills: charisma, juice fizzing, bowling Colors: yellow, brown, white

Goals:

Join the Drama club as a kid/teen.

Growing up with dogs as your siblings has made you quite the athletic guy! As an only child you were given every opportunity to pursue the things you enjoy and were encouraged by your parents to dream big. Your passion in life is sports and you even manage to score a scholarship to an impressive university. After graduating you are scouted by a professional sports team and go on to become a famous athlete. Despite your hectic work life, you still manage to make time for your family, often taking them on fun and exciting vacations. You adopt dogs and train them to be the best companions your children could ever ask for.

You're a certified baddie with an alternative taste in fashion. Sure, you might be a little obsessed with yourself, but it's only because you're the perfect combination of cheeky and charming. Despite your appearance you're actually the biggest softie on the inside and want nothing more than to be swept up in a romance novel worthy love story. You've never liked following instructions and prefer to be your own boss, even selling your own curated outfits on Trendi and eventually becoming a famous Simfluencer. You date around until you finally find The One and have the whirlwind romance you always dreamed of.

Traits: Romantic, Self-Absorbed, Bookworm Aspiration: Admired Icon & Soulmate Career: Famous Simfluencer (makeup & fashion videos) Skills: writing, entrepreneur, media production Colors: black, purple, pink

Goals:

Keep a diary starting in childhood and continuing on for the rest of your life. Write in it often.

Complete the Admired Icon teen aspiration. Switch to the Soulmate aspiration upon aging up into a young adult.

Have a pet black cat companion. Start a pet Simstagram account for them.

Join the Simfluencer career and upload makeup and fashion videos using the More Views Video Station.

Become a famous Simfluencer and have at least one video nominated for a Starlight Accolade.

Date around before finding your spouse. Throw a goth style wedding.

Have 2 children.

Optional Goals:

Vlog your wedding day.

Write and publish a series of romance novels.

Develop the Hungry for Love lifestyle.

✧ Generation 9: Badtz-Maru 🏴‍☠️

You were raised by the coolest mom and dad around and spoiled beyond belief. Growing up you never had to work hard for anything, and it's made you a rather overconfident and mischievous bad boy. At first your love for video games inspires you to get a job as a Tech Guru, but you quickly discover that the rise and grind lifestyle is not for you. You devolve into a life of crime shortly after quitting, only to discover you're actually quite good at being bad. Although you do get married more than once you can never seem to fully commit to just one relationship, breaking the hearts of many partners along the way.

Traits: Noncommittal, Self-Assured, Geek Aspiration: Chief of Mischief Career: Tech Guru / Criminal (Boss branch) Skills: video-gaming, mischief Colors: black, white, yellow

Goals:

Become Partners in Crime with one of your childhood friends and pull pranks at school.

Play with voidcritter cards as a child.

Sneak out to go to at least one teen party before aging up into a young adult.

Unlike your father, you were born to live that corporate life! Having grown up in a chaotic household has left you with a deep yearning for structure and responsibility. You did seem to (unfortunately) inherit some of his negativity though, and you often find yourself unable to control your outbursts of unbridled rage. While you strive to be the very best at your career and are nothing but professional in the workplace, you bottle up your anger and let it out at your local karaoke bar instead. Your favorite genre of music is heavy metal! You hope to one day be at the top of your field and successful enough to make your ancestors proud.

MBTI Legacy Challenge 16 Generations Inspired by the 16 Myers-Briggs Types

The MBTI Legacy Challenge is inspired by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator – a pseudoscientific self-report questionnaire that measures one’s preferences on four dimensions of personality type. The test attempts to assign a value to each of four categories: introversion or extraversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, and judging or perceiving. One’s four-letter test result represents 1 of 16 possible types. The underlying assumption of MBTI is that each type has specific preferences in the way they interpret their experiences.

This legacy challenge is about diving deeper into the personalities of your sims beyond the limitations of the game. Each type’s preferences underpin their interests, needs, values, and motivation. And in exploring each generation, decisions are made with that particular personality in mind. There are no backstories; rather, there are detailed descriptions and curated lists of aspirations, traits, and careers that are deliberately left open-ended so you can create unique stories. There are also scenarios and prompts specific to each type that affect the lives of your sims in relation to their career, love life, and relationship with their children. No two MBTI Legacy Challenges will ever be the same. This challenge is for players who love structure but also love the freedom to be creative in their gameplay and storytelling.

the joy of life legacy challenge by @simelune 37 generations to keep you playing.

as i was looking for legacy challenges that were being updated as new packs came out, i had the thought "hey, why not just write one myself?" so here we are! i'll do by best to add new generations as time goes on, but seeing as this already has 37 (!!) generations, i think we'll be okay for a bit.

a few notes:

this challenge incorporates mods. i tried to include options for players who do not use gameplay mods, but some generations are built around them.

this challenge uses (almost) all packs. some generations are based off specific packs though, so you could pick and choose which gens you want to do.

this challenge has story aspects. there's a lot of room for you to come up with a story yourself each generation, so have fun with it!

some generations are longer and more involved than others! this is meant to give you a bit of a break and provide variety between generations.

functional pacifier

this mod adds a functional pacifier for your infants and toddlers.

the pacifier must be purchased in build mode. you will find it in children's room decor or bathroom decor.

there are two types of pacifiers: one for infants, the other for toddlers.

infant or toddler need to click on the purchased item, then the “use a pacifier” action will appear. you can also remove the pacifier by pressing on the object.

the item can be dragged into the inventory and used from there.

a pacifier will help the baby cope a little with negative emotions, and the following moodlet will appear:

Studio Ghibli Main Menu Overrides — Sims 4

In honor of 900+ patrons, I wanted to give my members a mini gift to show my appreciation! Inspired by Simmatically's menu override, I dedicated these past few days to creating my own. After trial and many errors lol, I was finally able to override the main menu and create these Studio Ghibli overrides for the game!

As always with all overrides, only CHOOSE ONE to place in your mods folder at a time.

build mode recolors (aka, i will not be taking preview photos for this)

sometime while i was away, s4s updated and added the ability to recolor build mode items (columns, roof trims, friezes, etc.). so far i've recolored a few columns, spandrels, roof trims, stairs, and friezes, but i'm going to keep updating the folder as i add more and more items. everything's separated by pack and since they're simple recolors, you will need to have the corresponding pack for the recolor to work! please let me know if you have any issues, or if you have any requests for items i haven't done yet 💌
