This piece is called WORLD TRAUMA. The title and painting could be interpreted in different ways but my vision is that the plants are wilting and the bees have no nectar to feed on. This will lead to the extinction of bees, no more pollination of flowers and trees which will then lead to a lack of oxygen that will end the life of all living beings.  The anticipation of these events cause the blue lady to be in a sad and distraught state.  Her eyes are filled with galaxies because to me that represents were most spirits/ghosts go when they leave the physical body. These blue colors and hues were chosen because I thought they were perfect to represent the melancholy mood of the subject matter.  I  also chose to make the bees bright yellow to have a pop of color in a mostly monochrome painting. This piece was made with GALERIA Windsor and Newton acrylic paint in blue and white.  black, pink, purple and yellow was a cheaper acrylic paint called FolkArt, the surface of the painting is stretch canvas bought at my local art supply store. The painting was inspired by real world problems that might lead to this possible future outcome, like pollution affecting the growth and viability of flowers. Painted in July 2018.
