Caine floated nearby, clapping slowly. “Ahhh, nothing like a good scare to get the circuits pumping! Don’t you all feel alive?”
“No??” That was Zooble. “ I almost met my creator back there!”
Jax snapped.
He spun on his heel. “YOU DROPPED A BEAR ON US.”
Caine blinked. “Did I?”
“Yes!” Jax jabbed a finger at his own face. “It tried to eat me!”
“Well,” Caine said lightly, “you’re not eaten. So! Success!”
