beau-mccallum:
“If this is the case, why are we discussing the dynamics of you being,” Beau paused trying to think of the man’s exact words. “A great vampire?” The southern sucked in a breath of air through his teeth as a brow shot up. “Do I appear to be a forty year old father trying to be cool?” He questioned with a sternness in his voice, rather concerned at the notion someone could mistake him as such. After his off the top of the head explanation about the undead’s physique concerning intercourse, Beau figured the conversation may shift to something else. “Not exactly sure that is true,” he stated as he thought back to all the films with vampires. “I cannot attest to the Twilight films, I never took the time to watch the films.” Nor did he have the desire to put himself through that kind of agony. Even though the scone still weighed heavily on his mind, Beau felt somewhat invested in the man’s line of questioning. “Unless what?”
“Gotta prepare, and it’s kind of a now or never deal. Nobody wants to 70 and immortal, you know what I mean? Better to lock this down as is.” He said with a vague gesture to himself. Of course, he was fairly flexible in his vampire timetable, but as Jax worked through the timeline, the other asked another question. “Huh?” He said, snapping to and giving a slight grimace once the question had a moment to settle in his own mind. “Should I answer that?” He asked, brows knitting together in a moment of genuine curiosity. No way he actually wanted him to answer that. “I mean, no. Not really, anyway. You’ve got this whole... scary professor vibe. Not like, ghost scary but... intimidating. Which is cool, in it’s own way. People dig that.” He answered in a tone that said he believed that had been a sufficient response. “I mean, you’re not missing out. Here’s where I could make an excuse about a younger sister, blah blah blah, but fuck it, no shame in the game. Soundtrack was dope.” He said. He hadn’t intended to elaborate, but Beau had asked, and Jax was most definitely going to forget to Google it. He lowered his voice, almost conspiratorially, and pressed on. “Okay so hear me out — you mentioned the sucking blood thing to get the machinery up and running, right? What if you did a little sucking of the other variety, finish that up and then boned? Same concept, right? I mean, that’s a whole other participant but sometimes that’s just a Tuesday night.”
