Before he could respond with I guess, he was drawn into a hug. Anyone who knew Cassidy knew he was not much on physical affection. Yet, with Cassandra it felt natural as he placed his arms around her. With the gentle kiss along the side of his face, heat spread across his cheeks. Which surprised him, he never got bashful before but then again he was in the process of changing. Cassidy shrugged, not much caring where they went. Although he was eating better, he tended to just eat the plainest foods. “Wherever you want is fine, I am sure I can find something I will eat on the menu.” He smiled. “Excuse you pancakes are life, it is actually one of the few foods I know how to make without messing up. And I have to say they are way better than Dan’s pancakes…okay that is a lie but still they are decent. Really I am cool with any place. What are you in the mood for? There are several places in the area.”
There was a bit of resistance when she first pulled him in, but he quickly hugged her back, relaxing into her arms. When Cassandra moved back, she saw the flush of red over his face, her eyebrows rising in a questioning manner - but she didn’t say anything. Was it because she had done it in front of other people? Lord knew he’d seen her completely naked, so it wasn’t like a little kiss should do him in. Climbing into the truck, she let out a laugh at his reply, turning to give him a look as she fastened her seat belt. “Mm, pancakes are your life, maybe. I think waffles deserve a top spot as well, at least if we’re talking about breakfast foods. Otherwise, all food? I think it’s gonna be a win for steak.” Maybe someday Cassidy would be up for sharing a good old-fashioned steak and potatoes sort of dinner with her, but she also didn’t want to get her hopes up too high. For now, she would settle for him eating more than he had been. As she started the truck and glanced at the time, she figured most of the restaurants would be mostly clear of the lunch crowds. “How about that little sandwich shop over on Decatur?”
