Queenie grabbed an entire bottle of some expensive looking whiskey from the overflowing bar as she passed, patting herself down with a look of irritation when she couldn’t find her lighter. She tapped the nearest person on the shoulder, tucking a smoke between her lips, “ Got a light? ”

“Only if that’s my shit you’re smoking.”

   “Okay so, um, all the booze is to the left and the drugs are to the right and if we start to run out of anything, let me know and I’ll put in a call!”

   “Thanks again for coming.  Means a lot.”

“Should be good on the green.”

“Anyone complains-- which they won’t-- point them out, will you?”

“Can we go already? I ain’t got all day.”

Jax pocketed his hands, gait relaxed as they walked down the street, some store fronts were boarded up, but most of them still had their doors open, neon signs lit up to give some idea of what was inside. The one Jax stopped in front of was unmarked, just a building with a rusting metal door that used to be green if the leftover chipped paint at the bottom right corner had anything to say about it. The door eased open and they came face to face with a reed-thin man, one eye scarred closed with no brow hair above it. He had thin blonde hair and the eye that was open and fully intact was a sharp blue and it cut around Jax and Remi like a knife, looking for anyone suspicious.

“Sonny.” Jax extended a hand, polite in all his dealings, and Sonny took it firmly, eye finally looking at him as he shook Jax’s hand once before dropping it rather quickly. 

“Your friend?” Sonny had never been the talkative type and Jax gave a nod in reply. “He talk any?” 

“Not since the surgery.” Jax shrugged, miming a line across his own throat with his thumb. When Sonny didn’t laugh, the Crybaby sighed. “I actually recall there being something much more pressing and important than my friend here-- what was it? Ah-- my lights.” Jax gave Sonny a pointed look and at it, Sonny’s mouth thinned to a line, irritation twitching his brow. “May we?” He indicated through him into the building and, finally, they were allowed to enter.
