His question was slightly humbling to her, pulling her to lean back against the wall behind them with an easy smile and a shrug, “I don’t really know. I could try to tell myself it’s some sort of Robin Hood thing, like steal from the rich and give to the poor or something, but honestly, it mainly just adds clutter to my life I don’t need..” Again, she shrugged absentmindedly about it, “It’s just something to do when I get bored at these parties I think.” She noted honestly. But she rounded on him then with a sly smile, “So I can trust you with this little secret right Jax?” Her smile softened then as she looked on at him, glad to be beside a real person for the time being. He was mysterious and quiet, sure, but he owned those attributes of himself. She found that admirable in a sea of bullshit where your last name got you a hell of a lot farther than your first. Although, she wasn’t really worried about him keeping the secret or not, Nat would talk her way out of a mess like that if she had to. Again he offered her an interesting question, “I guess when you put it like that..” She began with a smile, “But I don’t know, I just imagine your scene being a quieter group of good friends. Besides, even if this is your scene, just lie to me. I need an ally around these parts.” Natalie wasn’t sure if she was making much sense to Jax, her mind whirring along as she wondered how long she could stick by Jax before her ‘friends’ would start asking serious questions about her whereabouts. A smirk pulled up onto her lips as she eyed him and his businessman ways, knowing she was probably keeping him from sales at the moment. “I won’t but I’ll keep that in mind, send people your way if I come across any takers too.” She cocked her head thoughtfully with a nod. Natalie followed his eyes as he watched the frat brothers being as fratty as all hell. “Eh, I hate those idiots. Really and truly, I despise them.”
“So you’re basically a hoarder? You know sometimes there is a deep psychological reason for that. You might want to get some help.” Was that a joke that came from JT? It seemed it was, which was rare but not possible neither. Many events in his life had made him the person he was today. But there had been different sides to him, there was the quiet guy who would lurk in the corners, other times he tried to come off as charming seeing as it was a trait any business man should have. And there were other times where he would try his best to be somewhat normal, at the end, it would never work out. He either would end up pushing the person away ( sometimes literally ) fearing to get close or scare them without trying. There had been some parts of him he couldn’t control, a part not many have seen. He had nodded, not that he understood her reason but he wasn’t going to judge on how she sought her entertainment in such parties. Besides it wasn’t like they were all that great, he never understood what was so appealing. Getting wasted only to wake up with a hangover with some stranger sneaking out of your bed. Or possibly even waking up next to a toilet. These nights always only ended in one of the two ways. Not that he would know but he had witnessed it, one or two times. The other times were in movies but still, it wasn’t far off the truth. Jax, it was the first he had heard someone call him that. He never spoke his real name with anyone expects for one. “Don’t call me that, is JT.” He grew serious for a moment, she hadn’t spoken his full name but that fear clicked in him. He didn’t want to be found by his past, not that anyone around here would know who he was but it was better safe than to be sorry. His posture had changed completely standing straight arms crossing over his chest as if it was a way to protect himself. “But you’re right, this isn’t my scene. I prefer to be alone just watching basic trashy television.” He didn’t even have any friends, he had people he spoke to but those were more like clients who he would share more than five words with from time to time. Did the room become crowded suddenly or was it just him? “You know I think I am just going to call it a night, I think I made enough.” Enough to pay his room for another week at least.
