helping a girl out
@onenicebugperday
found this girl struggling to fly on the floor of my balcony when I had gone out to take some pictures of my jasmine. originally I was helping her to the flowers with a leaf, but she fell and I caught her in my hand. I've never held a bee before, but I figured if I stayed calm and held her up to a flower, she'd just crawl off.
she was still there about an hour later, so I figured the jasmine didn't have enough nectar for her, so I fixed her up some sugar water* and gave her a few drops. when I next checked on her she was gone :)
*it's perfectly okay to give a tired bee a little bit of sugar water! it's leaving sugar water out in large quantities that is harmful to bees. a few drops of sugar water gives the bee enough energy to make it back to their hive or a nectar rich flower :)
please DO NOT give a tired bee honey! Giving a bee honey sourced from another hive can be very dangerous as it can spread pathogens between hives!
