Along with Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop: Knocking on Heaven’s Door is one of those anime movies where the city feels like an actual living environment and not just a background for the characters to walk in front of. Add to this that Cowboy Bebop, both the original series and the movie, show a level of ethnic and architectural diversity few other anime franchises can top.
