Why is the sun sign considered the main "sign"? I've read somewhere that the moon sign is who we already are, while the sun sign = the qualities we're learning to develop. If this is the case, shouldn't greater emphasis be placed on the moon sign?

The luminaries, the sun and the moon are the most potent archetypal expressions because they are in our sight all the time. we always see the sun and the moon. i’ve always seen the sun as the creative soul expression of the person, for me the sun sign has always diffused like a honey aura. the moon are the qualities we retreat back to when we need our mother i feel, the qualities that emerge when our ‘safe’ defences are off, which is pretty much all the time lol. every planet encircles the sun so the qualities of the sun radiate and filter in some way through every planet. there are two sides to every story, and two sides to every man, as ascribed by the sun and the moon, solar can see your light, lunar knows your secrets. i think that most astrologers place an almost equal emphasis on the sun and moon sign, and notice the first question people ask you when they find you are interested in astrology is ‘where is your moon!’, we are conditioned to respond to this luminary that reflects in us…
