the fifa pay gap is a present and real issue. the women’s team played on turf instead of natural grass aka rubber mixed bullets flying after them wherever they ran. the women’s trophy is smaller. the men’s team got paid over $300 million to not even make it to anywhere near the finals and they played on natural grass. the women’s team won. the. whole. damn. thing. tweet about this, post on facebook about it, and give fifa and the ppl standing behind them hell. here’s an article to get you started: source.

Of course the men get paid more, they garner more interest/fans which means more advertising, more merchandise sold and money for the organization. This has nothing to do with sexism, it’s consumer demand.

They pay women what they’re worth to the organization. Men’s football/soccer makes more money, so they pay them more. Why would FIFA make a losing financial investment in women’s football/soccer just because they’re women? That sounds like bullshit to me. If they started doing stupid shit like that, they’d go under in a heartbeat and you wouldn’t be able to enjoy men or women’s sports.

If you want women athletes to get paid more, then try to get more people to have an interest in it.
