Are you a virgin?
“If I answered that what would the tabloids have to gossip about?”
touchxstarved:
Rogue was Southern, and if there was anything that Southern women could deal with, it was the heat. But then that heat wasn’t like this heat. This was deep down into your bones, not humid, just dry and oppressive in a way that made Rogue feel like she was getting close to just combusting internally. Of course, that might be partially everything else that was goin’ on. Not that Rogue wanted to think about any of that. In that way the heat was kind of a blessin’ in disguise.
But damn if it wasn’t making it really hard for Rogue to keep her brain straight about anything. Like the fact that she couldn’t really tell if she saw that boy up in the tree or if that was just her imagination playing tricks on her. Because hell if something about him didn’t remind her of that boy that was still in a coma somewhere, cause Rogue had to be silly enough to try and kiss him.
But then he spoke and his voice was definitely not the voice in her memory and Rogue chalked it all up to the heat and gave him a sort of smile. "I wasn’t coming to take your tree, sug,“ she said and gave him a wry kind of grin. "I thought you might be someone else for a second, but I was wrong. I ain’t seen you here yet. How you likin’ our own special purgatory heat wave?”
“That’s a relief. Him and I have become pretty attached,” he replied, motioning to the tree. “I don’t know how much more heartbreak I could take.” Johnny dramatically put a hand across his head, clearly playing. In one fluid motion, he dropped down from the tree, landing on his feet. “But we could always find a tree of our own...” An impish smile appeared, although the comment was also made in jest. Well, mostly.
Johnny was a social creature, making the past several months hard. Most people he encountered weren’t really in a talking mood. He was living for the interaction. “I might need to give this person you had me mistaken for a call. Stealing my brand.” A shrug. “Heats kinda my thing. I’d give you a display if this place wasn’t such a killjoy.”
Leaning against the tree trunk, he once again longed for his powers. Over the past several years, so much of his personality had seemed to become intertwined with the fiery abilities. Plus, a sure way to get somebody’s phone number, when his celebrity status alone failed. Introduction time. “Johnny. Johnny Storm.”

Nebula was fine being alone. She’d lived most of her life alone, spent most of her days performing solitary activities. She actually preferred it, some days. But now? Here? In the stone with her sister sad and her sort-of team in shambles….She’d never felt the heavy burden of being on her own more.
“This tree does not belong to you, mewling terran.” She sniffed, turning her nose up at him (which didn’t mean much, considering she was standing below the tree he was perched in. It was really more like looking up at him, not that she’d admit that). She considered pulling her sword out and felling the tree just so he couldn’t have it any more, but that felt slightly too petty for her to actually do. She was, after all, trying to turn over a new leaf. However annoying that might have been.
Instead, she casually pulled one of her smaller daggers and used it to trim off a hangnail she had on her thumb. “Are you the king of the Soul World? Do you control the beings who have been trapped here? If not, I recommend you stop flapping your squishy terran face before someone stops it themselves.”
Raising a curious eyebrow, Johnny squinted down at the...alien? She was either that or a very, very dedicated comic-con attendee. Huh, this place never ceased to amaze him. Turning onto his elbows, he rested his head upon his hands, magazine forgotten.
“Listen, I don’t know what ‘mewling’ or ‘terran’” means but I’m getting some decidedly negative vibes from your voice. Woke up on the wrong side of the ever sunny bed?” To be fair, few people he encountered weren’t grumpy. Must be that most weren’t cut out for the whole interdimensional travel thing. Oh well. Not everybody had been experiencing it since they were old enough to drive.
“Soul world, huh? Is that what this place is called? Neat.” He’d never really put much thought into the where he was, but the name piqued his interest to say the least. Maybe it was just her...superiority complex but something about the stranger made him feel like she knew more than him. Which, admittedly, wasn’t saying much. “And to answer your question, alas, I am but a commoner in this here realm. And I must confess, I am not royalty. Although I am flattered you would consider me as such,” he replied, throwing on a posh inflection with a growing smile, unfazed by her borderline threat.
Hey guys!! THIS starter is not showing up in the tags, so why don’t you guys go show Johnny Storm some love.
I’m coming for you, Johnny boi! Time to get some Deadpool lovin. Don’t worry it won’t hurt… alot.
This sucked. Sure, Johnny had been stranded in otherworldly places— all the time, in fact. It kinda came with the territory of being part of the Fantastic Four, who’s mission statement may as well be ‘We explore the weird places you can only imagine in your wildest, drug induced dreams!’ Of course the first time had been slightly frightening and all, but soon it became a regular occurrence in his teenage life. No big deal.
This time was different.
For one, he didn’t have his powers. That was new. Usually he could flame on and feel relatively safe, no matter the circumstances. Now? He struggled to ignite a flame the size of a lighter’s. Second: it never took so long for his family to save him. Usually it only took Reed and his huge brain a couple hours to pinpoint his location before swooping in to the rescue alongside his sister and Ben. Not this time. Johnny had lost track of how long he had been within the confines of the erie shadow version of New York. And if he was being completely honest, he was beginning to feel a tad worried. If Reed, assuming he wasn’t also there, couldn’t fix this...who could? But he still had hope, refusing to fly wild with grief. So, may as well make the most of it.
Sitting atop a tree branch within the park, Johnny absently flipped through an out of place looking magazine he had found laying around. Basking in the ever present rays, the heat didn’t seem to bother him like it seemed to affect others in the limbo. Maybe it was an echo of his former powers, or maybe the heat simply reminded him of them, like an old friend. Either way, it felt comforting if anything. Noting a sound from beneath his tree branch, he peeked over with a cheeky grin. “Sorry, this trees already taken.”

↳ Johnny Storm / Human Torch
Half flesh. Half flame. There is a moment, between my self and the flame — a burning, eternal, sickening moment — when, no matter how many times I’ve done this before…I feel like this is it. This is the time when my head will truly be consumed by burning, searing, excruciating flame. It’s in that split-second just after I call up my power, just before I am engulfed…it’s a split-second of panic, of fear. Even when doused, I burn. I always feel as if on fire. I am the burning man. I am the eternal flame. I am the Human Torch!
