After enjoying lunch at the volcano we headed to the Elephant Park Lodge in Taro to hang out with these amazing Asian Elephants! It was such an incredible experience for Jayne and I to see these guys happy, enjoying life and not restrained by chains. This is because the other elephants we had seen in other parts of south east Asia were always restrained by chains. While still beautiful and majestic it made us sad and we always left the experience with a somewhat negative vibe. While these guys were restrained at times it seemed that they spent the majority of their time free to eat, take a bath, play and socialize unrestrained. They were definitely way happier elephants! There was one really fat monkey in the monkey forest who was kind of a jerk and stole bananas from the other monkeys, despite the fact all he could do was roll around really. It was so incredible to be amongst the monkeys in the monkey forest. You are literally surrounded and they can jump on you, hold your hand and even steal your sunnies or phone! One night in Bali we hung out at a tattoo shop while our friend had his dreadlocks tightened. The whole process took about 10 hours! We were only there for the last few hours in which time the awesome guys from the shop welcomed us with "Jim Beam" (mystery booze in a Jim Beam bottle) and invited us to make ourselves at home, even inviting us to eat with them. Jayne developed a love for the bongos too! There was a real sense of family at this shop and a sense of brotherhood. It was a pretty cool night. "I don't make a shitlock but I make a dreadlock"
