the bleach blonde male let out another laugh as she spoke about the reunion. “alright, good! because otherwise i would have been screwed. going to help me sing the songs as well? i can’t remember the lyrics,” zac admitted. it had been so long since he had even thought of that franchise and the songs, he could easily blame it on the age. “you’re a model?” zac asked. he would admit he had no idea who his roommate was or what she did for a living. he didn’t pay attention to much in the industry as of late and he wasn’t the type of guy to sit down and watch the VS fashion show.
“i was just going to go walk around the resort, check out our home for the next few days. probably hit up the pool,” he replied before he nodded to her next statement. ‘always down for some company.” he shook his head as she talked about her delayed flights, the one thing that hated about flying, the random delays that could easily happy. “two hours? i feel like if it’s any longer than 30 minutes, it’s just horrible wait. all you can do is sit in the airport and be bored.” zac replied. he wouldn’t mind the delays if he could leave the airport, but he knew you have to stay there. “part of the reason why I always try and fly private. never get delayed.” he told the younger woman. “mine was good! can’t complain to bad about it,” he told her before nodding in agreement. “definitely has been my life for the past few years. i’m always travelling for work. it’s nice when you get to take in the new places.” he rose an eyebrow, and pointed towards the bathroom. “two seconds. timing you now.” he said jokingly as he looked at his wrist at the imaginary watch he had on.
jo laughed to herself as she wandered into the restroom and out of view so that she could change. she wasn’t exactly a modest person, but it was the polite thing to do. “great! it’ll be the plot to high school reunion,” she called out, pulling her shirt over her head. “troy bolton lost himself to the pressures of adulthood and forgot the music.” tying on her top, she peeked around the corner at him and shook her head, “tragic.” disappearing again, she switched out her bottoms for a swimsuit and pulled on a nice cover-up. giving herself a look in the mirror, she adjusted her hair over her shoulders. “among other things, but modeling pays the bills, yes.”
making her way back to the room, she dropped her laundry next to her suitcase and stepped into her sandals. “this place is so big. i think the only place bigger i can think of is the resort in monaco.” grabbing a few other things in a little handbag, she nodded along with the conversation, turning to the door. “i hate sitting still. i’ve never been very patient, so waiting like that with no idea how long it’s going to be is my own personal hell.” pulling open the door, she stepped out into the hall, looking over her shoulder at him. “my favorite pilot was already booked so last minute.” she took a few steps toward the elevator as they found their stride and continued the conversation, pressing the call button with delicate fingers. “what are you working on lately? the ted bundy project is done right?” jo didn’t pay as much attention to movies as she should, but she often didn’t have time to stop and watch them. usually, she caught the newest releases a few months late on transcontinental flights.

“Honestly, I’ve golfed alone before, but it’s definitely better with someone else there.” he quickly replied with a smile. Once they got out to their designated cart, she threw her bag on first, and he followed though with his, quickly making sure both bags were secured before climbing in behind the steering wheel, letting her climb in beside him as he backed their cart out of the parking area, “Since I play hockey, golf is the closest thing I can get to it when I’m not playing hockey” he spoke with such confidence, he didn’t want to come off too strong, but he was already golfing shirtless, so that didn’t help either. Once they started out on the course, Tyler pointed the cart in the right direction “Alright Magellan, where are we headed to for the first tee?”
she gave him a smile and nodded in agreement. “i don’t think anyone wants to be alone on vacation, especially someplace so nice.” taking her spot on the cart, she looked over at him, lifting a brow. “you play hockey? is that why you look familiar? i go to a lot of games in nashville, when i can be home.” something about his face reminded jo of someone she knew or had seen someplace before, but she couldn’t put her finger on it. instead, she put a foot up on the dash of the cart and nodded her head to the left. “all signs point to one, captain.” her nose wrinkled in amusement as she grinned over at him, tilting her head so that the bill of her cap shaded her eyes from the glare of the morning sun. “i’m josephine, by the way. most everyone calls me jo.”

The morning was nice, the breeze just rolling in through his open window, he hoped his roommate didn’t mind, but with how hot he’d run while sleeping, he always needed a window open. Once out of bed, he put on a pair of swim shorts and, like always, no shirt. With hockey season going on, he knew he needed to wok on his tan a bit more. Walking over towards the golfing facility, he was hoping he’d at least get a round in while he was there. Looking at the sheets, there wasn’t a lot of options available for golfing, he was hoping with it being a Monday he’d have more time to golf, but much to his dismay they filled up fast and there was one spot available, and he had to wait for a partner to join. Grabbing one of the golfer’s bags with all the clubs he needed, he heard a voice behind him “No, no, I don’t mind the company, it’s honestly better than playing by myself,” Once he made eye contact with her, he remembered her from the other day, this was the girl who Dove brought with her to the game, now he didn’t need to have Dove try to hook him up with her.
with his agreement, jo turned back to the receptionist and nodded. “i’ll take the open spot, then,” she said with a smile, taking a step back and picking out a set of clubs that would fit her height. slinging a bag over her shoulder, she turned to tyler and considered commenting on his lack of a shirt, but thought better of it. instead, she tossed her head toward the door. “let’s get at it.” outside, she pushed sunglasses over her eyes as the gray of the morning began to give way to bright gold sunshine. she situated her bag in a cart, looking over her shoulder at tyler. “i don’t think i’d have patience to golf on my own. i’d probably get bored pretty quickly.” there was something social about golfing -- maybe the silence that seemed to take over with the concentration -- that made it much more bearable to be around someone else. shifting her weight from one foot to the other, she looked from the cart to tyler and grinned. “you drive, i’ll navigate?”

the mexico trip was turning out better than expected. jo had enjoyed herself on the hiking trip yesterday. her favorite part of any trip to a new place was immersing herself in the culture and stories of the people that lived there. she'd spent the day asking questions and conversing with the guides -- maybe a bit to their annoyance. the group that had come on the excursion had been a lot of fun and they'd certainly done a lot of bonding over their mutual aches and fatigue by the time they'd made it back to the resort for drinks and dinner, but jo hadn't stayed out too late.
she enjoyed rising early, even before the sun. there was something about an early morning that was peaceful and centering for her. it had been easy to find a quiet place for meditating, had a light breakfast and get dressed for her day. nothing was on the schedule for the day, so she figured it might be nice to get a round in on the golf course. jo didn't have nearly enough time for some of her hobbies, so she'd checked in to find there was only one tee time left with a partner. "i'm alright with that if you are," she said, turning to the mess of curls to her right. "if you don't mind the company, i don't!"

the past few months zac had been focusing mainly on himself and his work. after he finished off his filming his new movie, he knew that he needed to take some kind of a break from reality. and when he heard about the whole trip to mexico, he needed. a week away from everyone and everything, sounded like paradise to the male. once zac packed up a few of his belongings, he headed for the airport. the flight was long from la to mexico, but with his career, he was use to all the long flights. they had became a norm for him over the past 15 odd years he had been in the industry. Once he landed at the airport, he took the shuttle down to the hotel. he walked into the building, his eyes gazing through the interior of the hotel as he waited for the busy line going down. it wasn’t long until he was able to check in at the front desk and got the key. taking the elevator up to his room, he unlocked it and walked into the room, noticing that it was empty. He set his bag down on one of the beds, grabbed a few clothes from it and made his way into the bathroom.
zac hopped into the shower, one of the things he hated about flying, he felt gross afterwards. between all the germs, the people, and just sitting so many feet up in the air, he always had to get cleaned up afterwards. the bleach blonde haired male, dried off and pulled on swim trunks along with a tank top before heading out of the bathroom. tossing the dirty laundry into an empty pocket of his bag. zac was grabbing a water bottle from the mini fridge as he heard the door open. instantly figuring that it was his roommate as his gaze shifted over to her. a small smile crept across his features as he waved in response to her. ‘it must have been someone else down there when i got my key,” zac replied quickly as he went over and plopped down on his bed. he rose his eyebrow as she talked, “so if I ever need to know the dance moves again, you’re the girl to go to?” He asked, a laugh escaping from his throat.
she wasn’t sure who she’d been expecting -- jo hadn’t paid attention to the assignment email she’d gotten. if the trip were all planned, there was no sense in worrying about the details. still, she was pleasantly surprised with her payout. at least it was someone she knew the slightest bit about. usually, josephine had no trouble making friends, but it was always nice to have a starting point with the conversation. “i’ve totally got you. the reunion will be a breeze -- i’ve got your training,” she answered, nose wrinkling in amusement as she pressed a hand to her head and ran her fingers through her hair. “i actually learned my runway walk to that beat. the first time i walked for victoria’s secret, i just kept doing the routine backstage to keep myself from freaking out.” shaking her head, she shrugged, even as she continued to grin. “i guess that probably wasn’t its intended purpose.”
taking in his attire, she remembered that there was plenty to see around the resort, rather than just the inside of the hotel. “did you have plans? i was thinking of heading for the pool also. i don’t think any of my friends are arriving until late, if you want some company.” reaching down, she undid the laces on her sneakers and pushed them off. “my flight was delayed by two hours. i feel like i’ve been up since yesterday.” stretching a little, she looked up at zac. “how about yours?” she was up, grabbing one of her bags in the same movement, as she began to rifle through, looking for something to change into. “i feel like i live on planes and out of suitcases most of the time.” with her suit in hand, she gave him a sideways glance. “two seconds to change?”

the trip to mexico hadn’t exactly been on jo’s immediate schedule, but the opportunity had presented itself and she welcomed the change of pace from the sudden gray and gloom of the late fall. as soon as she was off the plane, jo knew that the sunshine was just what she'd needed for a boost to her mood. she had been feeling stagnant lately -- restless and untethered. a break from the constant dragging between shoots on opposite sides of the globe would help her to reset, refocus and recenter. the hotel itself was easy enough to navigate and, after checking in at the front desk, she found her way to the designated room.
pushing the door open, she'd almost expected to be alone and was startled to find her roommate already getting settled as she stepped over the threshold. with a surprised intake of breath, she lifted her hand to her chest before grinning slightly at her jumpy nature, pulling buds from her ears and shoving them into their case. "sorry," jo said with a breathless grin. "the woman at the desk hadn't been sure if you'd gotten in yet or not. i'm jo." she gave a little wave, pushing her hair behind her ears as she tugged her luggage into the room and allowed the door to shut. "i have to get this out of the way: i still know all of the choreography to 'we're all in this together' if you're interested." her bags out of the way, she plopped down at the foot of the bed furthest from him and gave a lopsided sort of grin.

I really need people to calm down with the Christmas music… It’s only the beginning of November. How do they not get sick of it after listening for like two months? @cdcrpgstarters
i feel personally attacked. there’s just something wonderful about the holidays. nothing bad can happen when there’s so much magic in the air. it’s all comforting to me, i guess. it reminds me of home and having cocoa with my brother.
wondergalg:
“Those people are not worth the ink their birth certificates were printed on.“ Gal chimed in, agreeing with Josephine. "It’s truly a magical sight to behold.” She agreed, a small nod of her head as she did. “All these woman coming together, bravely revealing their horrific shared experience and working to change things for the better.” Gal commented on the status of the movement. “I just finished reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Cried my entire train ride.” Gal admitted to her.
i like to believe the best in people still exists, even if things seem pretty rotten these days. there’s always good worth fighting for. at least, that’s what your girl diana taught me.

“I’ll never understand that part. As much as I try to be compassionate for everyone and their unique situations.” Gigi replied. Having someone who could relate to how she felt was such a relief to her. “People don’t seem to grasp the concept that we’re still people. We may be in the spotlight. But they’re not entitled to violate our boundaries or our privacy.” Gigi added. “Not knowing what people are capable of seems to be the most terrifying part for me.” She commented after Josephine finished speaking. “Least if you knew. You could try and prepare.” Gigi pointed out to her. “I should teach you to play Volleyball one of these days. Mainly for selfish reasons. Because I want more people to play with.” Gigi admitted, a small laugh soon followed behind. “I’m so ready for Mexico.” She commented.
i do my best to let it pass me by. i haven’t had too many bad experiences -- not like the way you’ve had it lately. you can definitely teach me volleyball, but i’m not sure i’d be much good at it. you know how competitive i can get. maybe we can start a league. or better yet, ditch our pretty girl lives and head for the olympics.
carpetveit:
I would feel bad about the crazy traffic and I think my mother has planned something for the whole extended family to come to their house for the holiday. They know I will be working on Christmas night. We will see what happens when I try calling her to discuss it, I still need to get the okay from my girlfriend cause she was really wanting to go celebrate with my family.
it couldn’t hurt to ask at the very least. i know i’m sometimes relieved when someone takes the responsibility of hosting the good time off of my plate, but i’d agree, you should talk to your girlfriend first! big choices always feel better when you’ve made them together!
tseguinofficial: @joskriver I've just never been a museum person, the Zoo is fun though?
joskriver: that's fair, i guess @tseguinofficial. i have found food, which should entertain me long enough.
carpeghadid:
“Overwhelming is the perfect word for it.” Gigi commented as Josephine explained her mind set regarding fame. “I’ll always love and appreciate the fans. It’s the ones that have no respect for me as a human being. That’s where I’m iffy.” Gigi clarified for Josephine. Referring to the incident where a stranger picked her up while walking out of a building. Also, the whole dude breaking into her apartment incident. “Not all the time but every once in a while; I just long for the time when all I had to worry about was volleyball and riding my horse. Make sense?” She inquired. “When we get home from Mexico. That’s the first thing I’ll do.” Gigi answered. “Been missing some Jo cuddles.” She admitted to her.
i didn’t expect for people to feel as if i belonged to them, but that’s what it is, isn’t it? i like to think they mean no harm, but in reality, there’s no telling what they’d do. i think that’s why i get myself so into sports -- it’s easy to think about something else for a while. except maybe curling... i don’t see how anyone watches curling unironically. after mexico it is, then!
wondergalg:
“Well, I haven’t read the book.” Gal prefaced before commencing her sentence. “I’ve heard countless stories of women who were in the industry before me. How these executives took and still continue to take advantage of the power imbalance makes me sick.” She revealed to Josephine. “Honestly, I’m really glad to hear that. But also sad that not being taken advantage is no longer becoming the normal.” Gal commented. “As to how those assholes sleep at night. I’ll never know. Don’t want to either.” She added.
these people don’t deserve the effort of my time spent thinking about it. i’m just glad to see change happening and people standing up for themselves. i can’t imagine feeling so alone with your own struggle, then suddenly knowing there are others. aside from this gruesome talk, what else have you been reading?
tseguinofficial: @joskriver Hit up a Stars game, I'd personally recommend that. Moxie's is a great place, if you want to be smart and stuff, there's a bunch of museums.
joskriver: "smart and stuff" not your thing @tseguinofficial? i'm going to the game tonight with a friend, actually!
carpeghadid:
“I’m not over exaggerating in the slightest when I say this.” Gigi prefaced the sentence before continuing to speak. “That sounds like heaven. Getting real tired of being scared that there’s going to be some stranger in my apartment every time I go home.” Gigi revealed to Josephine. Something the fellow model could understand how violating the general public could be. “I love the sound of that. We can bake and decorate sugar cookies too.” Gigi excitedly chimed in. “The holidays always get to me. You’re safe.” She giggled.
it can all be so overwhelming. i try not to complain because fans make my life possible, and honestly, i love them all. but i hate always feeling like i’m being watched. it’s been so long since i’ve been able to just breathe and i only feel that way when i’m back home or in nashville. seriously, clear your schedule and come down for a weekend! we can do whatever you like.
