I walked home late that night,
Missed the last bus home,
Avoiding human contact,
I wanted to be alone with myself,
Perhaps a part of me wanted to talk to the stars,
But they were awfully silent that night,
Their silence was incomprehensible,
For they had never forsaken me before,
I remember looking up in anticipation,
Of a miracle, of perhaps Sirius shining for me,
To my utter dismay, complete darkness greeted me,
This was the gloom I would have to get used to,
I told myself, silently weeping.
