margaret atwood facsimile that lives in my brain: you only feel happy because youâre fulfilling a male fantasy and the world has conditioned you to directly assign your self-worth to how men think of you
me: its true but you shouldnât say it!!! đ

Another 16 gay men were sentenced to a cumulative 48 years in jail for âdebaucheryâ in Egypt today. Dozens more are in jail awaiting trial, and many of them were entrapped by the police using Grindr and other apps. While in jail, many of the men are subjected to torture and sexual assault. While Egypt has arrested gay men before, this wave of arrests is especially worrying because it coincides with Egyptâs government pushing a new law that would punish gay men even more than they are nowâup to 15 years in prison.
Egyptâs current government, which is headed by a dictator, often tries to present itself to the West as âsecularâ and a source of âsocietal freedomâ. Please donât let them get away with that BS.
Letters between the artists Beatrice Fenton (1887-1983, top right) and Marjorie Martinet (1886-1981, bottom left), lovers of fifty years. Archives of American Art, Smithsonian.
â⌠I would pour out to you the tenderest and the most fervent love I know if you were here to-night, Beloved. I wish I could do more than write it, or that I could write poetry âŚâ (undated)
âMy love is like the sea; returning â as the tide âŚÂ Lovingly with embraces pleading, gently then with kisses speaking, unto the lovely shore, your love.â (1915)
CALLED IT
I feel like people refusing to acknowledge sex based opression because gender is a social construct, is like saying opression under capitalism doesnât exist because money is a social construct.

âi hate terfsâ = âi hate women who think they are allowed to fight for themselves, I hate women who donât bow down to men, I hate women who think they deserve to have their own name and language to speak about their oppression, I hate women who are unapologetic about wanting their own rights, I hate women who fight for victims of abuse, I hate women who insist on having sexual boundaries, I hate all the women who have the nerve to practice non US-centric feminism, I hate women who think they can fight for themselves before they fight for groups of people who would never ever fight for them.â
