Since it's gonna take me fuckin forever to get info pages up, I'll put the important stuff here.

About Envy In A Nutshell

Envy is a genderless homunculus appearing primarily as a androgynous male. He can shape shift into just about any existing (or made-up) persons he desires at will, as well as a giant reptilian monstrosity (his apparent true form) and a smaller lizard/tube worm looking critter when his regular body is destroyed. My version of Envy is Pansexual Demiromantic, but human connection is something he chronically lacks the proper understanding for, so any pursuit of a relationship will likely be met with intense confusion and possibly aggression as Envy tends to find most humans revolting. That's not to say he can't learn to respect certain individuals, and is generally an unserious goof off if he's not doing anything else. He's extremely arrogant and likes to torment people for amusement. His cruelty stems from his own deep seeded insecurities and intense jealousy towards a human's capacity for deep emotional connection and free will, something he inherently lacks despite being convinced he's superior to human beings.

-- Don't rush me. I have a life with shitty adult responsibilities.

-- I generally don't have any triggers to worry about, just tag appropriately

-- I prefer multi-para third person format. I write anywhere from 2-8 paragraphs depending on the post. I regularly exceed Discord's maximum default text limit.

-- I do not expect my writing partners to match length even though I often try to myself. Literally, it's chill. No pressure as long as I'm given enough to respond to.

-- Not opposed to ships or romance themes just be aware you're gonna have a very difficult time getting there. I suggest not making that your primary focus with this character, but whatever floats your boat i guess, I won't spoil your fun.~

Hi, it's the human that looks like Lamb but not really- Again- Before you roll your eyes at me and tell me piss off I really need something from you.

Just a hug... A simple hug would be nice..

I know, I know, you've had your emotional rollercoaster with a hug already, but one from you would fix a lot of things for me right now.. Been in a really clingy mood and I don't have anyone to put that towards and you were the first person I thought of. Your hugs are also really nice and warm.. so.. uh..Could I get a hug..? Or- Maybe just- Hold me for a while..?

Envy stares at the human-Lamb longer than they probably should.

They click their tongue, already irritated they're considering it. Of course they want a hug. Of course they want one now. After all of that.

The timing couldn't be any worse.

"... You're lucky you're the human version." They mutter. "Anyone else would've gotten laughed at."

They give an unenthused sigh, stepping in close anyway. They hook an arm around human-Lamb's shoulders and pull them in before they get the chance to overthink the gesture.

"Don't get use to it." Envy grumbles. "This is a limited-time human-Lamb privilege. Temporary. No extensions. No repeat visits. Absolutely not a habit."

There's a pause.

They don't let go right away.

"... You've got five minutes." Envy adds. "And if you tell anyone, I'll lie spectacularly."

Greed wasn't sure why he'd brought it up. There was nothing good that ran in their family, and as far as he was concerned all of them were just as guilty of the same things in one way or another. They just reacted. It wasn't so much a conscious thought as a second nature, likely something Father had instilled in all seven of them while claiming to have shed from himself. Though Greed would argue that it was still there. Father was just as hateful as the rest of them, but to hear Envy say it was like thorns in his skin.

As much as he wanted to deny it, Greed was just as much a part of his as the rest of them. Leaving hadn't separated him from that particular family trait. Instead he'd used it to justify himself, never looking deeper than that he'd reacted and hadn't moved on from it. Any deeper thought or regret had long been buried. He couldn't afford to look back on the way things had been before everything went to hell, back when they all still talked like normal siblings would. That would mean regretting what he'd lost, what he'd thrown away without looking any more deeply into it than surface level.

But that last conversation with Envy still lingered, and that final scream before they'd parted ways still rang in his ears. The truth still hadn't fully settled, instead a roiling chaos behind his eyes that wouldn't quiet until the deafening roar was all he heard. Envy hadn't done it. He'd unapologetically despised their very being for over a century over something they'd had no part in. And he'd been staring that cold, hard fact in its accusatory face ever since the revelation and fighting a losing battle over deciding whether to accept it.

For the first time in two hundred years, Greed didn't know what he wanted. There was no pretending a century of hatred and blame could just be wiped clean; its ugly repercussions would always linger. Were they just supposed to make up and forge a familial bond like some fairy tale? Just pretend that things could go back to the way they were? The truth was, neither of them were completely innocent, but tearing each other apart with accusations and insinuations left him more empty than satisfied. There it was again. Their family trait of just reacting.

But Envy seemed to be suggesting something different, something Greed had made no move to accept before this point and wouldn't have given a second thought to if not for the inexplicable wrongness that hadn't stopped its clamor ever since those damning words broke over a hundred years of accepted reality. It was Wrath.

Greed crossed his arms tightly across his chest, violet eyes narrowed and boring into this sibling's face as if evaluating whether that was a truthful consideration or just a way to get under his skin. Just get a rise out of him by saying his unfounded hatred just made him one of the family.

Finally, he took a deep breath through his nose and leaned back against the wall, not quite open but tentatively less defensive. "So you wanna talk? Is that it?" His tone was laced with skepticism, but he wasn't shutting it out. Not this time.

A brief pause while he calculated what the intention behind it was, but while it could very well just be another sarcastic jab on both of their parts, in the end, Greed concluded with a curt nod. "Fine." It wasn't much of an invitation, just a thin crack in the door he'd slammed shut, but with that single word, he'd left a tentative opening that would have been unthinkable for longer than either of them likely cared to think about.

Envy refuses to answer Greed immediately.

That's to be expected.

They watch their brother the entire time he talks, expression unreadable, violet eyes sharp and assessing. There's no defensiveness, no aggression. Just focus. The kind that reads they're bracing for impact.

Too soon.

Of course it's too soon.

You don't get to reopen a wound that's still fresh and warm and call it progress.

'So you wanna talk?'

That finally gets him a reaction.

A quiet, suspicious huff leaves Envy's nose. Not a scoff, not quite a laugh. Just tired, sharp-edged disbelief.

"... No."

The word comes out cleaner than they feel.

There's no venom. No theatrics. No hesitation.

Good.

They refuse to let Greed see how much this still rattles them.

Their head tilts slightly, curious, gaze narrowing.

"I already did." Envy says flatly. "Last time. I said everything there was to say."

And it nearly broke them.

They don't have another one of those in them yet.

They pause briefly.

"And I'm not doing that again." Their shoulders lift in a small, dismissive shrug. "Not right now."

They glance away, arms crossing, jaw tightening just enough to almost betray them before the armor snaps back into place.

"You don't get to suddenly show up after chewing on the wrong story for multiple decades just to decide now is the time for a heart to heart." They grumble. "Save it."

Their tone isn't cruel, just blunt. Careful. Controlled.

Because if they let themselves be cruel, they won't stop.

"That's not how any of this works."

Silence stretches again. Too familiar. Every bad moment started with this exact stillness.

Then, quieter, almost under their breath.

"I'm not walking back through the door I already burned myself inside of."

Their eyes finally flick back to Greed. Sharp. Unwavering.

You don't get another front row seat to that meltdown.

"You wanna talk? Then sit with it first."

They lean back slightly, rubbing a hand down their face in mild irritation, posture closed-off but not outright hostile.

"Figure out what you actually want out of that conversation." A sharp snort. "Because I'm not here to bleed on command while you stand there deciding if you feel bad yet."

Envy's not putting up with another of these conversations just so their brother can feel absolved.

They don't move closer to Greed.

They don't leave yet, either.

That's intentional.

"... Maybe once you've figured that out" Envy adds, tone flat but not final. "we can talk."

A pause.

"Maybe."

The door stays cracked... But Envy doesn't step through it yet.

They glance down at themselves, then gesture vaguely up and down like the answer should've been painfully obvious.

"... This one."

A sharp smirk stretches across their mouth, arrogant and unapologetic.

"I picked it." They add, chin lifting a fraction. "Every detail. The face. The voice. The way people look twice without fully knowing why."

They scoff quietly.

"Cute enough to pass. Edgy enough to bite back. Draws just the right amount of attention." Their eyes narrow, unsettling and smug. "And most importantly? It's not ugly."

Their shoulders lift in a casual, bored shrug.

"I can be anything," they say lightly. "but this one's mine.~"
