Hello!! I absolutely LOVE your Horse Merchant, Raven Assistant, and Mage Bodyguard! Will we be seeing more of them? I would love to follow their adventures traveling and peddling wares! Please tell us more about the practicalities of being a merchant with hooves and no opposable thumbs!

short answer: perhaps!

longer answer: I'm always sort of thinking about things in the back of my mind. If enough stuff solidifies, something tangible will emerge! maybe a tiny comic. (this could take years?!) Truthfully nothing terribly dramatic happens to these three, they're having a great time plodding around from town to town.

Do you plan on replenishing your Light Through Memory books in the future? Right now, the only ones available in your store are the B-grade ones.

Oh! Good question! There doesn't seem to be toooo much demand for it, so not anytime soon?

Doing small print runs of comics ends up being $$$$ haha (like $4-5 per book), but I'll consider it in the future! I usually print more comics if I do more in-person events.

Sorry to be so vague! I'm not certain how interested folks are in printed comics from me. Thanks for your interest !

Fan Art for @jean-wei's comic, Light Through Memory. You can read all of it here. I found it very touching. I enjoy historical fiction with young protagonists; they're in the middle of something major but they're still just normal people trying to live their lives.

I also used a color palette from @royalspalettes although I brightened it up afterwards.

They are amazing!!! What's your process and inspirations??

Hi there! Thanks for reading my comics, happy to hear that you like them. : ) Process is pretty straightforward; brainstorming/writing >>> thumb-nailing >>> pencils >>> final inking >> toning & typesetting there can be a bit of back and forth between these steps, depending on how indecisive I'm being haha. Character designs and other design elements get solidified somewhere between thumbnailing and pencils.

Inspirations; In terms of coming up with ideas for comics, anything goes! Daily life, observations, historical objects, phrases I learn, lots and lots of wikipedia diving! I find it's usually 1 little piece of information that I have to let marinate in my head for a long time, using it as inspiration for slowly spinning something that resembles a story. Occasionally I have an explicit goal of doing some kind of special approach to format that ends up informing the writing.

In terms of media, I've always loved fantasy books, manga, and animation. And of course I love illustration of all sorts. I'd like to read more novels and nonfiction books!
